Mr. Jack
Everett Robinson, age 84, of Baldview Rd., Young Harris, passed away on
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008 in the Union General Hospital following an
extended
illness. Mr. Robinson was born on March
1, 1924 in Towns County, GA, the son of the late Eddie Robinson
and the late Jennie Caldwell Robinson.
He was a veteran of the US Army of WWII.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Towns County, Jack was
a
professional carpenter by trade. In his
free time he loved fishing and hunting.
He loved the simple things in life.
Although he had no children of his own, he felt like he was a
father and
grandfather to many children, which he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert
Robinson and a sister, Bernice Erwin, and a nephew, Louis Robinson. Mr. Robinson was a member of Zion United
Methodist Church.
Surviving
Mr. Robinson are his loving wife of sixty five years, Irene Dyer
Robinson of
Young Harris, two sisters-in-law, Kay Robinson of Young Harris, Maver
Swanson
of Young Harris, brother-in-law, Jim Collins of Blairsville, several
nieces,
nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, Sept. 12, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Zion
United
Methodist Church with the Rev. Vikki McVay and Rev. Fred Whitley
officiating. Special music was presented
by the Kelley
Trio. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers, Clay Espey, Justin Collins, Tony Dyer, Clarence Collins,
Dave
Jones and Larry Swanson. Serving as
honorary pallbearers were, Dayton Dyer, Tommy Bowers, Terry Dyer, Tamar
Thompson and Wayne Abercrombie. Interment followed
in
the church cemetery. The family met with
friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening after 6 p.m.
