Mrs.
Norma Fern Hunter, age 70, of
Blairsville and Hiawassee passed away Thursday morning October 7, 2010
at Union
General Hospital in Blairsville.
Norma was born Friday, April 12,
1940, in Peoria, Illinois, to the late Guy and Vivian (Shamo) Pudney. She had lived in this area since 1976, coming
here from Tooele, Utah. Norma had
attended Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Hunter in 1980
and sons,
Dewayne Edward Hunter in 1973 and Michael hunter in 2004.
Norma is survived by daughter,
Roxann Pudney of Nevada and daughter and son-in-law, Karen and G.W.
Brong of
Epworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Lillian Hunter of
Hiawassee,
Georgia; brothers, Junior Dalton of Nevada and James Ellison of Utah;
seven
grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.
No services are planned at this
time.

Mrs.
Geneva Frances Matheson, age 73, of
Matheson Rd., Young Harris, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010 in
the
Chatuge Regional Hospital following an extended illness.
Mrs. Matheson was born on Sept. 26, 1937, the
daughter of the late Pierson R. Campbell and the late Carrie Clontz
Campbell. She was a lifelong resident of
Towns County. Geneva enjoyed cooking and
taking care of her family. She was a
loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
Mrs. Matheson was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Matheson are her
loving husband of fifty-five years, Odell Matheson of Young Harris,
three
daughters and one son-in-law, Della Mae Matheson, Joanie and Donald
Hogsed,
April Michelle Matheson all of Young Harris, two sisters, Nora Lee
Ferguson of
Young Harris, Martha Nell Garland of Newnan, GA, one grandchild, Brett
Lee
Hogsed of Young Harris, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held on Thursday,
Oct. 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with the
Rev.
Billy Stiles officiating. Special music
was presented by Janet Stiles, Bill Ledford and Maxine Hughes. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers, David Smith, Donald Smith, I.B. Patterson, Gerald Hall,
Cecil Dye
and Lonnie Marcus. Serving as honorary
pallbearers were Brett Hogsed, Randy Wellman, Tommy and Tim Garland. Interment followed in the Old Brasstown
Church Cemtery (sic). The family met
with friends on Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m. at the Old Brasstown
Baptist
Church.
