bertha elizabeth martin campbell

 

Bertha Elizabeth martin Campbell, age 97, of Hiawassee, GA died Sunday, October 10, 2004 at the Chatuge Regional Nursing Home in Hiawassee, GA.  A native of Eucutta, MS, she was the daughter of the late John Francis and Mary Elizabeth (Molly) Penelope Stanley Martin, Sr. and was preceded in death by a grandchild.

Bertha finished high school in Vossburg, MS and married the late Jesse Claude Campbell of Clara, MS.  She became a devoted homemaker and mother and her greatest accomplishment in life was her children and grandchildren which always came first.  She never lost sight of rearing her children to become decent, law abiding, productive adults; who loved the Lord and walk the Christian life.  Her Bible was a favorite read.  Family dinners and get togethers were a must.  Her chicken and dumplings and lemon pies could not be beat.  She loved also to travel, do ceramics, and sew, among many other activities.  Never a quitter, a strong and loving woman, our mother will be greatly missed here by all of us.  We know a joyous reunion in Heaven is in the future for each of us.  “Time will heal and Heaven is real.”

She is survived by all seven of her children, Dot McDonald of Pensacola Beach, FL, Sara Pierre of Mobile, AL, JoAnn Reich and husband Rocky of Florence, AL, Claudette Knodel and husband Fred of Pensacola, FL, Linda Elam and husband Raymond of Hiawassee, GA, James M. Campbell and wife Linda of Mobile, AL, Claude Campbell and wife Barbara Currul of Jonesboro, GA.  Nineteen grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and Liz Garrett a loving friend and faithful caregiver also survive.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL with the Rev. Alvin Sullivan officiating.  Burial was in Mobile Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.  The family received friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2004 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Mobile, AL.

mr. willie c. lunsford

 

Mr. Willie C. Lunsford, age 89, of Hiawassee, GA, passed away Monday, October 11, 2004, at Gwinnett Medical Center.

Mr. Lunsford was born February 26, 1915, in Towns County, GA.  He was a member of Enotah Baptist Church and a son of the late Willie and Artie Neal Lunsford.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Faye Hooper Lunsford who passed away May 7, 2003.

Survivors include: his son Jerry Lunsford of Woodstock, GA, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Rebecca Lunsford of Calhoun, GA; daughter and son-in-law Debra and Jim Hodges of Grayson, GA; grandchildren, Dana Grayson, Brad Lunsford and wife, Melissa and Kade Hodges; great grandchildren, Taylor Shawn Lunsford and Zachary Justin Lunsford; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 2 P.M. at Enotah Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Coleman and Rev. Harold Ledford officiating.  Music was by the Church Choir and Martha Barrett.  Pallbearers were Dennis Mathis, Bruce Spiva, Truett Spiva, Voster Barrett, Herman Swanson and Ray Jones.  Honorary pallbearers were Rondal Nicholson and Clinton Fulbright.

mr. william mccall

 

Mr. William McCall, age 52, of Young Harris, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004, at his home.

Mr. McCall was born March 1, 1952, in Brewton, Alabama where he lived most of his life before moving to Towns County, Georgia in 1998.  Mr. McCall was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church.  He was a son of Willard and Lou McCall of Flomaton, Alabama.

Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Patsy Ramey McCall of the home; daughter and son-in-law Sheri and Steven Ray of Brewton, AL, daughter, Paula McCall of Pensacola, FL, stepdaughter, June Souther and husband, Chris of Blairsville; grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor, Samantha Ray and Courtney Ray; step-grandchildren, Christopher and Lauren Souther; sisters, Willonese Purvis of Flomaton, AL, Linda Barlow of Walnut Hill, FL and Pat Madison of Beaumont, TX; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 7 p.m. at Zebulon Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jenkins officiating.

Graveside services and interment were held Saturday, October 16, 2004 at 10 a.m. in Rock Cemetery in Flomaton, AL.
