Dorothy
Dye, age 91 of Grant, FL, and Hiawassee, passed away Friday, October
17, 2008
at Brasstown manor in Hiawassee following an extended battle with
Alzheimers
Disease. Mrs. Dye was born Monday, April
9, 1917 in Saginaw, MI, to the late Cyril Monroe
and the late
Irene Woodland Monroe. She was a
member of the Roseland United Methodist Church, Roseland, FL. Mrs. Dye was preceded in death by her husband
Chester Dye and brother, George Monroe.
Dorothy
loved working in her gardens, sewing, needle work, playing cards and
shopping.
Survivors include:
daughter & son-in-law, Bette and Harold Krohn of Grant, FL, and
Blairsville, GA, son & daughter-in-law, Robert and Linda Dye of
Charlotte,
NC, granddaughter and husband, Cheryl and Greg Shafer of MD, grandson
and wife,
Kevin and Rachael Krohn of CA, granddaughter and husband, Julie and
Doug
Podgorski of MI, grandson, James Dye of MI, great grandchildren, Rick
Shafer,
Tara Shafer, Nathan Podgorski and Joshua Podgorski and an aunt,
Elizabeth Ewald
of MI.
A memorial
service celebrating the life of Mrs. Dye will be held at a later date
in grant,
FL.
In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests that donations may e made to the
Alzheimers
Foundation or to Coosa United Methodist Church.
