mr. franklin herman champion

Mr. Franklin Herman Champion, age 36 of Hiawassee passed away on November 16, 2003.

He was born on November 14, 1967 to Charles and Genevieve (Mathis) Champion.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Darlene Champion of Hiawassee; two children, Emma Darlene Champion and Bryce Champion both of Hiawassee; one sister, Michele Shelton of Hiawassee.

Funeral services were held at Lower Hightower Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on November 19, 2003, with Rev. Jimmy officiating.    Pallbearers were Craig Collins, Johnny Collins, Anthony Coleman, Rex Patterson, John Smith, and Junior Beaver.  Interment was in the Lower Hightower Baptist Church cemetery.

 Bannister Funeral Home of Hiawassee in charge of arrangements.

mr. robert earl sanford

Mr. Robert Earl Sanford, age 72 of Hiawassee, GA passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2003 in Decatur Hospital.

Mr. Sanford was born April 16, 1931 in Bartow County, GA, a son of the late Harvey and Nora (Earwood) Sanford.  He moved to Hiawassee 12 years ago from Jackson County, GA.  Mr. Sanford was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include: sister, Christine Williams of Whites, GA; brothers, Charles Sanford of Fairfield, CA, Harvey Sanford of Hiawassee, GA.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Cochran Funeral home with Rev. Gil Johnson officiating.  Music was provided by Sheila Eller.  Pallbearers were Stephen Johnson, Travis miller, Morris Sutton, Davis Sutton, Leon Arrowood, Jesse Gibson and Rondy Chastain.  Interment was in Pine Grove Baptist Church.
