luanne queen stockton

Luanne Queen Stockton, age 65, of Herman Drake Road, Young Harris, GA formerly of Franklin passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Murphy Medical Center.  She was born in Macon County, the daughter of the late Fred and Ruth Houston Queen.  She was married to Harold Stockton who passed away in 2004.  She had worked at Van Raalte, Burlington Industries and Franklin Undergarment.  She was a former Girl Scout Leader and taught cursive wiring at Union School.  She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Gibson and Scotty of Franklin, NC and Lisa Munger and her husband, Robert of Young Harris GA; mother-in-law, Bessie Stockton of Franklin, NC; three sisters, Janet Robertson, Joyce Crowe and Connie Bradley all of Franklin, NC; five brothers, Wayne, Kenneth, Brent, Queen all of Franklin, NC and Jimmy and Danny Queen of Lexington, NC; three grandchildren, Travis Gibson, Jamie Munger, Nora Munger.  She was preceded in death by one sister, Judy Henry; two brothers, Lloyd and Paul Queen.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 22 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Josh Brooks and Rev. Steve Rhoten officiating.  Burial was in the Church Cemetery.  Michael Stockton, matt mason, Cory Ledford, Jeremy Parker, Ricky Stoudemire and Randy Stoudemire served as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers were Towns County Fire Department and Emergency Services.  The family received friends Friday, December 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home where the body remained until placed in the Church thirty minutes prior to service.
