Phedila C. Byers and wife, Sarah Jane Coffey

My grt-grandfather, Phedila C. Byers and wife, Sarah Jane Coffey. Sometimes know as "P. C."--most folks called him "Cebe".  He was a trader and wagoneer.  Father of Nick Byers.
"Cebe" was a native of what is now Clay County, NC.  He moved to what is now Towns County Ga, when his parents, Ephraim and Milly Ratcliff Byers, moved from Ft. Hembree to the Brasstown District, Towns County GA.  He was a member of Stephens Masonic Lodge, Young, Harris, GA, and was a Confederate veteran.  Byers Creek is named for "Cebe"s father, Ephraim Byers.  Ephraim and Milly also moved to Union County and are buried at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
"Cebe" moved when he was elderly to the Ivy Log Community, Union County, GA.  He and Sarah Jane are buried at Ivy Log Cemetery, Ivy Log District, Union County GA....
