Mrs.
Louise
Hutson, 86, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, December 19,
1996 in
Murphy Medical Center in Murphy, North Carolina.
Mrs.
Hutson was born in Towns County, Georgia, on September
18, 1910, a daughter of the late Arlie Knox Waldroop and Minty Carolina
Spivia
Waldroop. She was a teacher in the Towns
County Public School System. Mrs. Hutson
was a member of Sharp Memorial Methodist Church, the Enota Garden Club,
the
Order of the Eastern Star, Bald Mountain Chapter, #349; the Retired
Teacher’s
Association, and she taught school for over thirty five years. Mrs. Hutson was preceded in death by husband,
Franklin Cooper, and husband Roy Hutson.
Surviving
are four nephews, Harold Waldroop, of Canton, Ohio; Carroll Waldroop,
of
Canton, North Carolina; Clyde Waldroop, of Blairsville, and Carlos
Waldroop,
Jr. of California; three nieces, Vesta W. Byrd, of Woodstock, GA;
Frances
Whitaker, of San Antonio, Texas; and Lucille Akers, of Houston, Texas;
several
great nieces and great nephews, and step children also survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, December 21, 1996 at 11 a.m. from the
Chapel of
the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Patty Clay and Dr.
John Kay officiating. Special music was
presented by Carey Waldrip
and Jerry Taylor. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Richard Byrd,
Richard Waldroop, Bobby Abney, Archie West, Fred Ramsey, and J.E. Corn. Interment was in Old Union Baptist Church
Cemetery.
