Piper
Kristine London, infant daughter of Wayne D. and Mindy Anne Lepore
London of
Blairsville, GA, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 in an Union County,
GA
hospital.
Surviving
in addition to the parents are, a sister, Dayna Anne London of the
home; a twin
brother, Darrin James London of the home; maternal grandparents, John
b. and
Mary Anne Lepore of Hayesville; paternal grandparents, David F. and
Doreen
London of Hiawassee, GA; paternal great-grandmother, Dorothy London of
North
Miami Beach, FL; and a maternal great-grandmother, Celine Murray of
Huntington
Station, NY.
Funeral
services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 in the
Episcopal Church
of the Messiah with Rev. Jim Johnson officiating. Interment
was in the Greenlawn Memorial
Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests memorials be made in loving memory of Piper Kristine London to
the
Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403 or to
the
Episcopal Church of the messiah, 76 Peachtree Street, Murphy, NC 28906.

Mrs. Ruth
Holloway, age 84, of Lawrenceville, GA, formerly of Blairsville passed
away on
Monday, December 31, 2007 in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mrs. Holloway was born on October 7, 1923 in
Union County, the daughter of the late Harvey D. Stephens and the late
Lilia
Pierce Stephens. She was such a loving
and caring person who dearly loved her family and enjoyed just being
with her
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She
will e greatly missed by them all. She was
preceded in death by her husband,
Sherman Clyde Holloway in 1992. Ruth was
of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Holloway are two sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy and Marsha
Holloway of
Winder, GA, Jerry and Rita Holloway of Lawrenceville; one daughter and
son-in-0law, Yvonne and Mike Chesler of Buford, GA; two brothers and
sisters-in-law, Jeep and Lela Stephens of Blairsville, Mark and Maxine
Stephens
of Aiken, SC; one sister, Cora Dixon of Marietta; five grandchildren,
Amanda
Holloway, Sherry and Jim Coffield, Holly
and Ronnie McKenzie, Angela Chesler and Kyle Chesler; five
great-grandchildren,
Sarah, Noah, Hannah, Rebecca and Micah Coffield; many other relatives
and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, January 4, 2008 at 1 p.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating.
Special music was presented by Tommy Green.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers,
Mike Stephens, Ronnie McKenzie, Jime Coffield and Craig Stephens. Interment followed in the Harmony Grove
Baptist Church Cemetery. The family met
with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Mr. Louis
D. DeBlois, age 77, of Post Place, Blairsville was called home on
Thursday,
January 3, 2008 from Union General Hospital following a sudden illness. Mr. DeBlois was born in Attleboro, MA, the
son of the late Samuel DeBlois and the late Elodia Fournier DeBlois. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Louis had once been employed with Fish and
Games Division. He loved wildlife and
enjoyed hunting and fishing. He owned
and operated a Taxidermy Business. He
was a loving husband and father. Mr.
DeBlois attended Track Rock Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. DeBlois are his loving wife of thirty-four years, Jan Janssen
DeBlois of
Blairsville; one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Susan DeBlois of
Norton,
MA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Charles Lovely of
North
Attleboro, MA, Millie and John Fuller of W. Barnstable, MA; two
grandchildren,
Michael DeBlois and Samantha DeBlois, both of Norton, MA; many other
relatives
and friends also survive.
A
memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 1:30 p.m.
from
Track Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Moss officiating. Special music will be presented by the Track
Rock Church Choir. In lieu of flowers,
if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to your
favorite
charity in Mr. DeBlois’s memory.

Mrs. Lena
Marie Little Thompson, age 97 of the Culberson Community, passed away
Friday,
January 4, 2008 after an extended decline in health.
Mrs. Thompson was born Tuesday, February 1,
1910 in Union County, GA. She was the
first of six children of the late Gordon and Callie Walker Little. Lena retired as a Teacher from Murphy
Elementary School in 1975. She was a
member of Bethany Baptist Church, the North Carolina Retired Teachers
and the
Notla Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she was a
founding
member, with over 50 years of membership.
Lena was a farmer, gardener, painter, wood carver, wood worker,
wife,
mother, grandmother and friend. She was
preceded in death by her first husband, Wilvin Beaver and their infant
son,
Junior, her second husband of 60 years, Ralph William Thompson and
their infant
sons, Ronnie and Donnie Thompson and son-in-law, Tommy M. Kuykendall.
Survivors
include: daughter, Lavon D. Kuykendall of Acworth, GA; son &
daughter-in-law,
Stephen A. and Karen P. Thompson of Fayetteville, GA; son &
daughter-in-law, Paul G. and Ann Thompson of Blairsville, GA; five
grandchildren, Suzanne Kuykendall, Jason (Mary) Kuykendall of Acworth,
GA,
Stephen (Dr. Michele) Thompson, II of Blairsville, GA, Drs. Leigh Anna
Thompson
(Justin) Beverly of Jackson, GA and Dennis (April) Thompson of
Brunswick, GA,
five great grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Floyd P. and
Corene Little
of Culberson Community, sister, Virginia Titshaw of Lawrenceville, GA;
special
niece, Sharon Thompson Poteete and many other nieces and nephews also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, January 6, 2008 at 2 p.m. from the Bethany
Baptist
Church with Rev. Roy E. Clore officiating.
Interment was in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were: grandsons, Jason
Kuykendall, Stephen Thompson II and Dennis Thompson, nephews, Thomas
Little,
Tommy Little, and Scott Titshaw.
Honorary pallbearers included: Bobby Poteete, Carlton Van Horn,
Michael
Thompson, Ty Cobb, Roy Cobb, and Gordon Mobley.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be

“Chris” Egan, age 83 of Blairsville, GA, passed away Monday, December
31, 2007
at her residence. Chris was born
Thursday October 23, 1924 in Pemiscot County, MO to the late Clyde
Dennis
Martin and the late Bessie Bell Madden Martin.
She was formerly of Flint, MI and Naples, FL and was of Catholic
Faith.
Survivors
include: daughter and her partner, Tina Francisco and David Covington
of
Blairsville, GA, grandson, Aaron Potter and granddaughter, Kelsey
Potter both
of Phoenix, AZ.

Mrs. Etta
Clonts McGehee Burns, age 80, of Ivy Log Rd., Blairsville passed away
on
Thursday, January 3, 2008 in the Union County Nursing Home following an
extended illness. Mrs. Burns was born on
march 11, 1927 in Bartow County, GA, the daughter of the late Adolphus
Clonts
and the late Lena Baker Clonts. She was
a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George H.
McGehee in
1997 and two sons, Jacob and Jimmy McGehee.
Mrs. Burns was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mrs. Burns are her loving husband, Jim Burns of Blairsville; one
daughter and
son-in-law, Rebecca and Fred Hallmark of Madison, AL; one son and
daughter-in-law, Patrick and Valerie of Hartwell; two step-children,
Katie
Murray and Joe McGehee; six sisters, Jewell Avis, Mary Offut, Gloria
Gifford,
Ruby Langston, Rebecca Martin and Darline Berg; two brothers, James and
Mac
Clonts; nieces, Ranee and Ernie Parrish of Lindale, GA, Becky and
Hiassan Bilah
of Norcross, GA, Donald Avis and Lena Weaver; close friends, Bessie
Harris of
McCayesville and Edie Bennett of Morganton; two grandchildren, Jessica
Nicole
McGehee and Neil Simmons; many other relatives and friends also survive.

services were held on Monday, January 7k, 2008 at 10 a.m. from the
funeral home
chapel with the Rev. Leon McDonald, Rev. Ronnie Crisp and Rev. Luther
Thomas officiating. Special music was
presented by Joe and Julia
Ann Gray. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers, Bob Timmers, Lee Roberson, James Daniell, Albert Odom,
Alfred
Odom, Ray LeGender and Scott Webb. Interment
and graveside services followed at 2 p.m. from the Sawnee View Cemetery
in
Cumming, GA. The family met with friends
at the funeral home after 1 p.m. on Sunday.
