Clinton
David,
better known as "Slick", Collins, age 75, of Young Harris, Georgia,
passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at his home.
Mr.
Collins was born
in Union County, Georgia, on August 26, 1935, a son of the late Edwin
P.
Collins and the late Lois M. Plott Collins. He
was a lifelong resident of this area, and
was a member of Old Union Baptist Church.
Mr. Collins had been active in Stephens Masonic Lodge, #414;
Cartersville Shrine club, and The Yaarab Temple in Atlanta. His wife, Joyce M. Dodero Collins, preceded
him in death.
Surviving
family
members include son and daughter-in-law, Wayne P. and Kim Collins of
Young
Harris, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne Dale and Jeanne
Collins, of
Topsail Beach, North Carolina; and son, Stacy David Collins, of Young
Harris.
brother, Herbert A. "Cecil" Collins, of Marietta, Georgia, and
brother Clarence L. Collins, of Young Harris; six grandchildren and
four great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were
held on for Wednesday, January 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m., at Old Union
Baptist
Church, with Rev. Jimmy Rogers and Rev. Jimmy Hogsed officiating. Special music was presented by Sam
Ensley. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers: Earl Smith, Stephen page, Terry Plott, Mike Plott,
Jacky Jones,
and Cody Allen. Serving as honorary
pallbearer was Joel Collins. Burial was
in the church cemetery. Masonic
graveside rites were presented by members of Stephens Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Bill
B. Woody, age 83, of Suches, GA,
died January 2, 2011.
Bill was a native and lifelong
resident of Suches. He was a member of
Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church in Suches where he served as deacon, song
leader,
and church clerk. He was an educator,
having taught at Truett McConnell College, North Georgia College, and
Woody Gap
School. Bill also served as Principal at
Woody Gap School and Lumpkin County High School. He
was also Registrar, Director of admissions
and public relations at North Georgia College (sic).
Bill also served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was the son of the late Walter W.
Woody and Nina Dixon Woody, and was also preceded in death by his
brother,
Arthur D. Woody.
Bill is survived by nephews, Edward
Woody and William (Bill) Woody; 5 grand nephews, 2 grand nieces, and a
number
of other relatives also survive.
Bill was cremated and a graveside
memorial service is scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Mt.
Lebanon
Baptist Church Cemetery.

Allen, age 85, of Blairsville, died
Wednesday, January 5, 2011. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Homer w. Allen.
Surviving are her daughter, Bridget
Allen Kelly and her husband, Hill of Lithonia; son, Timothy F. Allen of
Cleveland; sisters, Wilma Motes of Decatur, Genell Burns of Young
Harris;
brother, Harold Dyer of Blairsville; grandson, Brian Kelly; 3 great
grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held 1 p.m.,
Saturday, January 8th in the chapel of Henry Funeral Home, Lithonia. Dr. Jim Martin officiated and interment
followed at Hillandale Memorial Park.

Mr.
Cody
Benjamin Norregaard, age 26 of Forest Circle, Blairsville passed away
on
Saturday January 1, 2011 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center
following a
brief illness. Cody was born on December
19,1984 in Duluth, MN, the son Bridget Vick Norregaard and the late
Douglas
Edward Norregaard. Cody enjoyed fishing
and being outdoors. He was a loving
husband, father, son, brother and uncle. At
the time of his death he was employed with
Colwell Construction Company. Cody was
of the Christian faith.
Surviving
Mr. Norregaard
are his loving wife of five years, Lucianna (Lu) Ruiu Norregaard of
Blairsville, his three year old son, Cody Benjamin Norregaard Jr. of
Blairsville, his mother, Bridget Norregaard of Winter Haven, FL, three
sisters
and two brothers-in-law, Emily and Hunter Loy, Melissa and Cole
Kitchens and
Alicia Norregaard all of Winter Haven, FL, mother and father-in-law,
Stephen
and Cindy Gallucci of Blairsville, father and mother-in-law, Lino and

Ms.
Lorraine Anne
Kuhn, age 47 of Stacy Lane, Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday,
January 4,
2011 at the residence following an extended illness. Ms.
Kuhn was born on April 5, 1963 in Ft.
Lauderdale, FL, the daughter of Priscilla White and the late Harold
Kuhn. She had lived in the area for a
little over a
year, moving here from Lighthouse Point, FL.
Lorraine worked as the manager of Palm Beach Auto Auction for
over 20
years and was always devoted to her work. She
loved her dog Lexi very much. Lorraine was
a loving daughter, sister, aunt
and a friend to many. She was of the
Catholic faith.
Surviving Ms. Kuhn are her mother Priscilla
Kuhn of Blairsville, two sisters and brothers-in-law Debbie and Bob
Overstreet
of Blairsville and Becky and Tony Degregoril of Ellijay and eight
nieces and
nephews Matt, Mike, Nikki, Tony, Catie, Ashlee, Ashton and Mikey., many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
A
memorial service

Elmer
Vincent
Cleland, age 79, of Blairsville, Georgia, by God's tender mercy, went
home to
be with his Lord on Sunday, January 2, 2011. Mr.
Cleland was born January 2, 1932 in
Rockdale County, Georgia, to Mercer Thomas Cleland and Lillian Abbott
Cleland. Mr. Cleland had lived in
Lithonia, Georgia for
63 years before retiring to the North Georgia Mountains. He
was a member of the Turner Hill Baptist
Church in Lithonia, but he regularly attended Bethlehem Baptist Church
in
Blairsville. Elmer loved his family, his
church and his fellow members. He loved
everything about country life. Mr.
Cleland was preceded in death by his son, David Cleland; grandson,
Brett
Wasendorf; parents, Mercer Thomas and Lillian Abbott Cleland, sister,
Vassie
Carden and brother, Harold Thomas.
Survivors
include
his wife of 57 years, Dot Cleland of Blairsville; daughter, Beverly
Wasendorf
of Conyers, GA; son, Daniel Cleland of Loganville, GA; grandson, Rob
Wasendorf
of Milledgeville, GA; grandson, Trent Cleland and granddaughter, Kayla
Cleland,
both of Loganville, great grandson, Damion Wasendorf of Conyers; great

Gainesville, FL; sister, Valeria Kelley and her husband, Bert of Social

held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 from the Turner Hill
Baptist
Church in Lithonia with Rev. Cotton Harris and Rev. Lanny Myers
officiating. Interment was in the Turner

Maxine Drake,
age 79, of Caldwell Rd, Blairsville, passed away on Monday Jan. 3, 2011

Chatuge Regional Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Drake was born on Oct. 6, 1931 in Union
County, the daughter of the late Bob Kelley and the late Irene Hughes
Kelley. She was a native and lifelong
resident of
Union County. Maxine enjoyed cooking, gardening, her flowers and
spending time
with her family. Maxine was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother
and
great grandmother. She was preceded in
death by her husband of sixty-one years who passed away on Sunday Jan.
2, 2011,
also by five sisters, Margaret, Bobbie Gail, Elizabeth and Jerri Ann
Kelley and
Betty Nix and by an infant brother. Mrs.
Drake was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Thomas
Drake age 81 of Caldwell Rd., Blairsville passed away on Sunday,

Colwell Drake.

was preceded in death by a sister, Lois
Drake Lance. Mr. Drake’s wife of sixty-one
years, Maxine passed away on Monday January 3, 2011.

Blairsville.
Kristi
was born in
Hiawassee, Georgia, on December 20, 1970, and was lifelong resident of

area (sic). She was a member of Crossover Community Church in Blue
Ridge, and
was active in Missions at her church. Kristi
was a board member for The Wilderness Scouts of America for several
years.
She will
be missed
by everyone who knew her - especially by her mother, Jo Ann Cornwell,
of
Blairsville; her father, Harold L. Cornwell, of Blairsville; a son,
Brody
Brackett, of Blairsville; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Karen
Cornwell, of Knoxville, Tennessee; two nieces: Amelia Cornwell and

Mrs.
Sandra
"Sandy" Kay Stoutamire, age 61, of Choestoe Lane, Blairsville,
formerly of Tallahassee, FL, passed away on Tuesday Jan. 4, 2011 at her
home. Mrs. Stoutamire was born on Oct. 13,
1949 in
Tallahassee, FL, the daughter of Minnie Lambert Stouamire (sic) and the
late
Clyde Stoutamire. Sandy was a graduate
of Florida State University and a graduate of Lively Vocational School
in
Graphic Arts. Her love was to foster
animals for adoption and rehabilitation. She
was a devoted animal portrait artist. She
was a loving daughter, mother, sister and
was a friend to many.

Sandy are
her mother, Minnie Stoutamire of Tallahassee, one son and
daughter-in-law,
Bryce and Keszia Hale of Inverness, FL, one brother, Jerry Stoutamire
of
