Mrs.
Violet Kershaw Mund, age 87, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Tuesday,
January 5, 1999 in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Mund
was born
December 26, 1911 in Bridgeport, CT, a daughter of the late
Sam Kershaw and Sara Addy Kershaw. She
was a homemaker and had lived in this area for the past 10 years,
coming here
from Marlborough, Ct. She was preceded
in death by a son, William, in 1995.
Surviving
are her husband, Henry Mund, of Blairsville; two daughters-DeAnna
Arthur of
Blairsville and Dolores Donovan, of East Haddam, CT; two
brothers-Alfred
Kershaw of Farmington, CT and Pal Kershaw of Colchester, CT; 8
grandchildren,
15 great grandchildren, and 1 great, great grandchild also survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at 2
p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Reverend Troy Acree
officiating. Grandsons served as
pallbearers, with
interment in Union memory Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to The
American Cancer Society.

Mr.
Joseph N. Dutcher, age 73, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Wednesday,
January
6, 1999 after a brief illness.
Mr. Dutcher
was born in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada the son of Earl and Helene
Gould
Dutcher.
Surviving are
his wife: Jeanette Dutcher of the home; three daughters-Denise D. Dow
of
Alburn, Maine, Gail D. Belden and Nanette D. Gutgsell both of Portland,
Maine;
one son-Gerald Norman Dutcher of fort Worth, TX; one brother-N Gerald
Dutcher
of Roxboro, Quebec, Canada; seven grandchildren, one great
grandchild and a number of nieces and
nephews.
Memorial
services were held at the Antioch Baptist Church on
Monday, January 11, 1999 with the Reverend Floyd Scheinder officiating.

Mr.
Thomas Jefferson Welden, age 66, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Wednesday, January 6 1999 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville,
following
an extended illness.
Mr. Welden
was born in Fulton County, Georgia on November 3, 1932, a son of the
late
Thomas Jefferson Welden, Sr. and Eva Weems Welden.
He was a contractor and did housing
construction. He had been living in
Blairsville since 1983, coming here from Jacksonville, Florida.
Survivors
include his wife, Barbara Ann Welden, of Blairsville; son, Tom Welden,
Jr., of
Jacksonville; daughters, Deborah Welden Coats of Jacksonville and
Michelle
Welden Day of Knoxville, Tennessee; sister-Ruth Welden Tannton of
Jacksonville;
5 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 1 niece and 1 nephew also survive

Mrs.
Liller E. Woody, age 94, of Hiawassee, GA, formerly of Blairsville,
passed away
Friday, January 8, 1999 following a period of declining health.
Mrs. Woody
was born in Union County, GA the daughter of Will and Vina Garrett
Helton. Surviving are three
daughters-Lorene Morgan
of Blairsville, GA; Dora Woody of Toccoa, GA; Wanda Trotter of
Clarkesville,
GA; two sons-William H. Woody of Blairsville, GA and James Woody of
Baldwin,
GA; fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great,
great
grandchild and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held on Sunday, January 18, 1999 at 2
p.m. form the chapel of the Funeral Home with the Reverend Bill Trotter
and
Reverend Marvin Brown officiating. Interment w3as in the Owl Town Church of God Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Waymond Morgan, Josh
Gibson, Lucky Thurmond, Scot Jones, Casey Howard, and Raymond Fuller. Music was provided by the Brown Family.

Mr.
Harry Jordan, age 82, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday,
January 7,
1999, in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Jordan
was born in Madison County, Georgia, on Sunday January 30, 1916, a son
of the
late Moses Yancey Jordan and Sally Moon Jordan.
He was a retired engineer, and had been living in this area
since 1980,
coming here from Boynton Beach, Florida.
Mr. Jordan was a member of First Untied Methodist Church of
Union
County.
Survivors
include his wife Hilda Jordan, of Blairsville; son and daughter in law,
Chester
and Jeannine Jordan, of Decatur, TX; and daughter, Kay Jordan Severson,
of
Arlington, TX; sisters: Julia Hutchens of Augusta, Georgia; Helen
Martens, and
Edna Gilkey, both of Blairsville; 4 grandchildren, and 5 great
grandchildren
also survive, along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, January 10, 1999 at 2:30
p.m. from First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Eddie Herring and
Rev. David
Jordan officiating. Special music was
presented
by Susan Barton. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Mike and Nick Mosgovoy, Steve and Chris Barry,
Boyd
Lancaster and Brian Severson. Interment
was
in Union County Memory Gardens Cemetery.
