Mrs.
Mary Jane Williams, age 83, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of
Seminole, FL.
passed away Monday, January 5, 1998 following a period of declining
health. Mrs. Williams had lived in Union
County, GA. For the past 3 years.
Surviving
are her husband, Mr. James Williams of Blairsville; daughter and
son-in-law,
Judy and Tony Muir of Blairsville; son and daughter-in-law, Richard Lee
and
Laura Williams of Cranford, N.J.; sister Enid Jones of Seminole, FL.; 2
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
No local
services were held. In lieu of flowers
donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Williams to your local Hospice
program. Banister Funeral Home of Young
Harris in charge of arrangements.

Miriam
L. Jamison, age 87, of Blairsville, GA. Died Friday, December 16, 1997
in an Union County, GA. Hospital. She was a native of Merchantville, N.J. but
had lived in Gibbstown, N.J. most of her life before moving to Union
County in
1989. She was the daughter of the late
Otis Franklin and Mary Thomas Tull Sturgis.
She was a retired bank employee and was of the Methodist Faith.
Surviving
are his husband, Robert H. Jamison, and two step-daughters, Patricia
O’Donald
of Leonardtown, MD. and Cathy Dunkel of
Lykens, PA.
Memorial services
were at 7 p.m. Friday, January 2, 1998 in the chapel of Ivie Funeral
Home, Murphy
with Dr. John Christy officiating.
In lieu of
flowers, the family requested memorials be
made to the
Humane Society, P.O. Box 765, Hiawassee, GA. 30546.

Mrs.
Nora Irene Raper, age 84, of Covington, Georgia, passed away Tuesday,
January
6, 1998 in Covington.
Mrs. Raper
was born in Union County, Georgia on October 19, 1913, a daughter of
the late
Jessie Ledford and Elizabeth Foster Ledford.
Mrs. Raper was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and had lived
most of
her life in Union County. She was
preceded in death by her husband Delt Raper.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors
include two sisters, Ora McGiboney, and Velma Johnson, both of
Covington; two
brothers, Melvin Ledford of Blairsville and Tom Ledford of Snellville
GA. many other
relatives
and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, January 8, 1998 at 2 p.m. from, Mt. Zion
Baptist
Church with Rev. Mark Towery, Jr. officiating.
Music was by Ken and Elaine Young.
Pallbearers were David Bramblett, Chris Bramblett, James
Ledford, Tommy
Ledford, Albert Yates, and Henry Raper. Interment
was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery.

Mr. Wayne
Auberry, age 79, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Monday, December
29, 1997 in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Auberry
was born in Union County, Georgia, on June 7, 1918, a son of the late
William
Auberry and Elizabeth Vanhook Auberry.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and served during World War
II. He was a lifelong resident of this
area, and
was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Ruby
Auberry, of Morganton; cousins and other
relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, January 1, 1998 at 2 p.m. from the chapel
of Cochran
Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Loys waters officiating. Special music was presented by The Kelley
Trio and Mr. Roy Gibson. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Bruce
Hill, Tom Stabell, Ray Harper, James Wood, Bob Waters, and Oscar
Henderson. Interment was in Oak Grove
Baptist Church
Cemetery. Members of the North Georgia
Honor Guard presented military honors.

Lee Callis Seaborn, age 54, of Blairsville died January 11, 1998 in
Gainesville. She was a Missing Persons
Specialist for the
Ft. Lauderdale Police Department.
She is
