miss stella burnett

 

Miss Stella Burnett, age 88, of Suches, GA died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at the Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, GA following an extended illness.

Miss Burnett was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.  She was a homemaker and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Suches.

She was the daughter of the late Emanuel McCager Burnett and Sarah Elizabeth Cain Burnett and was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by one brother, Dewey Burnett, Suches, GA.  Several nieces, nephews and other relative also survive.

Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, January 15, 2005 at the Zion Baptist Church in Suches, GA with the remains placed in state at the church at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Rev. Russell Lyle officiated.  Interment followed in the church cemetery.

mr. randil brawley

 

Mr. Randil Brawley, age 62, of Morganton Hwy., Suches, passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at his home following a brief illness.  Mr. Brawley was born on July 8, 1942 in Fannin County, the son of Opal Long Brawley and the late Mark Brawley.  He was a designer by trade and one of his accomplishments was the smokeless ash tray.  He had been affiliated with the Mountain View Crematory for the past two years.  Mr. Brawley had attended Friendship Baptist Church and was currently attending Cooper Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Brawley are his mother, Opal Brawley of Ravenna, OH, one sister, Lisa Brawley of Kent, OH, four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Keith and Sheryl Brawley of Suches, Joe Brawley of Ravenna, OH, Larry and Yvonne Brawley of Kent, OH, Thomas Angelo Brawley of Brady lake, OH, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. from the Brawley Family Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Bryant officiating.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ray Long, Nathan Long, Michael Wright, Wayne Wright, Joe Brawley and Larry Brawley.  Interment followed in the Brawley Family Cemetery.

mr. clem edward dunn

 

Mr. Clem Edward Dunn, 87, of Blairsville, GA, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 16, 2005.

He was a resident of Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville, and was formerly of Raleigh, NC.  Mr. Dunn was born in Nash County, NC, on Sunday, April 15, 1917, a son of the late Alfred Fred Dunn and Addie Lena Delbridge Dunn.  Mr. Dunn was a lifelong resident of Raleigh until his move to Blairsville.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, a World War II Navy veteran, and a member of Sir Walter Lodge #441, I.O.O.F., of Raleigh, NC.  He had been preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Mae Spivey Dunn and a brother, Lloyd Delbridge Dunn.  Mr. Dunn was a dedicated and caring father, and loving grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter Judy Dunn Loper and son-in-law, Carroll B. Loper, of Blairsville; granddaughter June Christy Loper of Brunswick, GA; grandsons: Christopher w. Loper, of Dover, Arkansas; Gregory mark Loper of Ellijay, GA; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  His extended family includes Jack D. Dunn, nephew, and many supportive and living nieces.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2005, at 11 a.m., in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Danny Parris and Rev. Mike Hardy officiating.  Burial was in Choestoe Cemetery.
