Mr. Charles Milton
“Buddy” Fowler, age 89, of Wilmar Circle, Blairsville passed away
Monday,
January 14, 2013 at his home following an extended illness. He was born
November 6, 1923 in Atlanta, GA to the late Paul and Ethel Fowler.
Buddy moved
to this area 11 years ago from Hiram, GA. He loved fishing and working
on lawn
mowers. He was preceded in death by his wife Vina Lee Fowler in 1987,
step-daughter, Carolyn Marie Brewer, sisters, Ruth Weddle, Esther
Qualls and
Judy Weddle. Buddy was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sister, Ellen Dupree of Canton, GA, extended family
members,
Kenneth and Debbie George, Ronnie and Donna Brewer, Jeannie Brewer,
Tiffany
Brewer, Caine Brewer all of Blairsville, GA, Carol Ann Tromp of Texas,
Donna
Duggins and Jeannie Moore both of N.C., Tonya Brewer, Eugene Brewer,
LeAnn
Brewer, Keith Brewer, Michael and Bradley Brewer, Davida Tucker, Holly
Swaim,
Rebecca Helms, Allan Helms, Brandon Brewer, Brand Renald, Doyle Brewer,
Lee

Christian.

Erwin
(Bob) Larke, age 88 of Blairsville, GA passed away Tuesday, January 15,
2013 at
Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.
Bob
was born in Battle Creek, MI and was the son of the late Ervin Clifford
Larke
and Betty Madeline Shaw. He was a pilot during WWII in the Army Air
Corp. Bob
work for 12 years at Goss Company installing newspaper printing presses
throughout the US and Canada. He then worked for Wagner Flook
Construction
Company of Battle Creek where he became Construction Superintendent;
overseeing
construction of hospitals, schools and churches throughout southwestern
Michigan. Upon moving to Ft. Myers, FL Bob worked for TimeLee
Development and
was manager of Strandview Tower Condominium, FMB for 10 years prior to
his
retirement. He loved people, travel, music and dance. Bob was a member
of the
Caloosa River Cloggers exhibition team for 16 years until 2000. After
moving to
Blairsville in 2005 he endured several health problems but loved the
area
calling Blairsville his "Heaven on Earth". He was a member of the
Coosa United Methodist Church.
Bob
is survived by his wife Georgia; son, Daryl Larke M.D. and wife Susan
of
Prestonsburg, KY; daughter, Sharyl McCarthy and husband Doug of
Chandler, AZ;
stepdaughter, Theresa Chaney-Huggett of Marshall, MI; sister, Donna
Nusbaum of
Kalamazoo, MI; grandchildren, Stacy Chatfield and husband Greg, Andrea
Larke,
Taylor, Morgan and Cody Zingsheim, Amanda and Caitlyn Willerick and
great
grandchildren, Lenora and Quinn Chatfield.
In
addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by two sisters,
Sally Reed
and Elaine Odell.
A
memorial service was held at the Coosa United Methodist Church at 11
a.m.,
Saturday, January 19, 2013. Rev. Roy Watkins will officiate. There was
gathering
of friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
In
lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Coosa United Methodist
Church
Scholarship Fund, 767 Mulkey Gap Road, Blairsville, GA 30512.
Inurnment
will be in the Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI at a
later
date.

Mr. Jimmy David Conner,
age 71, of Mt. Woods Lane, Blairsville passed away Wednesday, January
16, 2013
at his home following an extended illness. He was born July 20, 1941 in
Sylva,
NC. Jimmy had lived in this area for the past 22 years. He loved
hunting,
fishing, working with his tractor and gold dredging. He was a master
cabinet
maker for over 34 years. Jimmy was a loving husband, son, brother,
grandfather,
great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his father, William
Conner,
brothers, Robert, Kenneth, Thomas and Edgar Conner, sister, Elizabeth
Conner,
grandchildren, Haley Hamrick and Scotty Keen. Jimmy was a member of
Bethlehem
Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Glenda Conner of the home,
mother, Ada
Rogers of Sylva, NC, children, Tony Conner of Montgomery, AL, Pamela
Taylor of
Johnson City, TN, Angela Conner of Marion, NC, Christal and Andy Burks
of
Blairsville, GA, Cherie Breeden of Blairsville, GA, Chuck and Jennifer
Breeden
of Blue Ridge, GA and Clayton and Tonya Breeden of Blairsville, GA,
brother,
James and Nancy Conner of Sylva, NC, sister, Dorothy and Kenny Cagle of
Sylva,
NC, thirteen grandchildren, Derek Conner, Brandon Conner, Gretchen
Breese,
Chelci Moody, Chaise Setzer, Gracelyn Rice, Michelle Breedlove, Caitlin
Breeden, Kaitlin Patterson, Chris Breeden and Brittany Murphy, great
granddaughter, Karleigh Breese.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2 p.m. at
Mountain View
Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Schmid and Pastor Ray Potts
officiating.
Music was by Nancy Conner, Betty and Casey Henderson. Pallbearers were
Richard
Landgill, Freddie Beasley, Charles Queen, Jerry Queen, Gordon “Tick”
Buffer and
Shawn Foster. Interment followed in Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers
will be accepted but if you wish make memorial donations to Bethlehem
Baptist
Cemetery Fund, c/o Bethlehem Baptist Church, 316 Ed King RD,
Blairsville, GA
30512. The family received friends at the funeral home Saturday evening
after 6
p.m.

Mr. David
Worthley Beal, age 87, passed away
at his home in Blairsville on January 15, 2013.
He was beamed up "in his mind" by Scotty, Speck and Captain
Kirk.
His
passion for
adventure, knowledge and living to the fullest allowed him to fulfill
many
accomplishments. A Yoeman (sic) in the
Navy, MIT graduate in Engineering, stock market guru, Captain of many
boats and
pilot of many airplanes, builder of homes and commercial properties,
and a
constant drive to provide for his family.
He leaves behind his brothers, Donald Beal of
Michigan, his three happily married children, David and Elizabeth Beal
of Young
Harris, Linda and Charles Strickland of Stuart, FL, Lisa and Craig
Robelen of
Boca Raton, FL. He leaves eight
grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
The
immediate family
will privately celebrate his past life and his reunion with his wife,
Evelyn of
sixty-three years.
In lieu

Julian M.
Karasoff, DVM, age 96, of Holly
Hill, FL, formerly of Blairsville, passed away November 4, 2012. Dr. Karasoff was born July 30, 1916 in The
Bronx, New York City, NY. He attended
veterinary school in Waltham, MA. He
operated his own veterinary practice and also worked as a veterinarian
for the
state of Massachusetts for 30 years before retiring in 1972. He worked for the government in World War II
as a meat inspector for the US Army.
He and
his wife
enjoyed doing theatre productions with the Hovey Playhouse in Waltham,
MA, for
20 years. His family travelled around
the U.S., Canada and Mexico in their motorhome.
They began vacationing in Key Largo, FL, in 1975 and moved there
in 1983
from Waltham. While living in Key Largo,
they started vacationing in Blairsville in 1989 and moved there in
1998, where
they lived until 2011.
Dr. Karasoff leaves behind his
devoted wife, Marie. They celebrated
their 70th wedding anniversary just weeks before his passing. he also leaves behind a son, Haskell
"Lou" and wife Susan of Palm Coast, FL, grandson Michael and wife
Susan of San Francisco, CA, and many friends.
