Henderson Sims, age 74, of Rossville, GA, formerly of Blairsville,
passed away
on Monday, January 22, 2007 in the

Mrs. Sims are her loving husband of forty nine years, Harold Sims of
Rossvile,
GA; one brother, Randall Henderson of Blairsville; two sisters, Nina
Bible of
Chattanooga, Regina Morgan of Rossville; one brother-in-law, Tom
Cordell of
Ringold, GA; nieces and nephews, Yvonna Smith and Gail Weaver both of
Blairsville, Mike Bible of Ringold, Angie Carter of Chattanooga and
Ricky
Klassen of Ringold, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Born in
the north
More so
than his professional accomplishments, his family wishes to remember
his never
ceasing love of others over self. His
rock solid stability, loyalty, and encouragements to others throughout
his
lifetime served as an enduring testimony to his life.
The memory of his hearty laugh, his love of
life, and his gentle touch will sustain us.
His
memory will be cherished by his wife of fifty-nine years, Mary Ruth
Nix,
originally of Cleveland, GA; one son, William Hal Gurley and wife Karie
of
Geneva, Switzerland; two granddaughters, Heather Elizabeth Collins and
husband
Daniel of Nashville, TN and Diana Lee Gurley of Athens; three sisters,
Lois
Cole of Athens, Helen Thompson of Griffin, and Lynne Marvin of
Douglasville;
and two nieces and five nephews.

Corena
Harkins, age 90, of
Immediate
survivors include daughters, Barbara Harkins of Suches and Decatur and
betty
Dyer of Alexandria, VA; son, Robert Harkins of Suches; grandson and
granddaughter-in-law, Jeff and Susan Harkins of Suches, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Robyn and Chris Still of
Cleveland, GA; and granddaughters, Kendra and Carley Dyer of
Alexandria, VA; 7
great-grandchildren; four brothers, Willard, Wayne, Gordon, and Carroll
Patterson; three sisters, Joyce Hope, Evelyn Willis, and Betty
Buchanan; plus a
large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
All of
her life Corena loved beautiful flowers
and shrubs and a favorite winter past time was perusing the many
nursery
catalogs that arrived in her mailbox and discussing what new items she
and her
grandson Jeff should order for spring planting.
Until she became confined to a wheelchair at the age of 85,
Corena
always had a bountiful vegetable garden each year, the harvest from
which she
canned, froze, and shared with neighbors and friends. She also loved to
piece quilt
tops and was working on several designs until a year or so before her
death.
Corena
was a devoted member of
