Mrs. Inez Beavers McGaha, age 68, of Blairsville, GA passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at Union General Hospital.

Mrs. McGaha was born Saturday, January 23, 1937 in Union County, GA to the late Earnest and Vestie Thomas Beavers.  She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  Mrs. McGaha was preceded in death by her husband, Earl McGaha and a brother, Kermit Beavers.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Gary Hooper of Young Harris, GA, daughter, Betty Curtis of Blairsville, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Sid Garrett of Blairsville, GA; son, Tommy McGaha of Hiawassee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sharon McGaha of Blairsville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Doris McGaha of Blairsville, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Press and Nellie Beavers, Randal and Maggie Beavers and Lois and Carolyn Beavers, of Blairsville, GA; sisters, Elvie Odom of Blairsville, GA and Birdie Davenport of Morganton, GA; grandsons, William Owenby, Lee Jones, Jessie McGaha; granddaughters, Crystal Owenby, Melissa Gillespie, Brittney McGaha, Marlissa McGaha; 6 great grandchildren.

mrs. wanda lee allen

 

Mrs. Wanda Lee Allen, age 68, a native of Union County, Georgia and a resident of Mobile, AL died on February 1, 2005.  She was preceded in death by her father, Barney Ownbey; mother, Dorothy Lee Stillwell Ownbey; her children’s father, Claude Curtis Allen; and grandchild, Beth Allen.

She is survived by her children, Gail Allen Pierce of Fairhope, AL; Curtis Crawford Allen of Mobile, AL; Dian Allen (Herbert) Shirley of Springfield, MO; Aaron Walter (Ruth) Allen of Semmes, AL; Sherry Annette Allen (Reed) Ortmann of Mobile, AL; James Daniel Allen of Springfield, MO; siblings, Doris Ownbey Henderson of Hiawassee, GA; Betty Ownbey (Robert) Gallmon of Dalton, GA; James (Jane) Ownbey of Chatsworth, GA; Wynelle Ownbey (Virgil) Huggins of Lawrenceville, GA; Mary Ownbey (Dan) Thacker of Grayson, GA; nieces, nephews and other relatives.  Eight grandchildren, one great grandchild.  Graveside services and interment were help at 2:30 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery on Saturday, February 5, 2005.  Donations may be made to the American Cancer society.

mrs. bessie leona kendall

 

Mrs. Bessie Leona Kendall, age 80, of Hayfield Road, Blairsville, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2005 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mrs. Kendall was born on April 4, 1924 in Union County, the daughter of the late James Walter Kendall and the late Fannie Crawford Kendall.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Kendall.  She was a native and lifelong resident of Union County.  Mrs. Kendall had attended Philadelphia Baptist Church for several years and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Kendall are one sister, Stella Burnette of Chatsworth, GA; one nephew, Preston Burnette; one niece, Arlene Scott, both of Chatsworth; several cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Waymon Lovell and Rev. Hubert Legg officiating.  Special music was presented by Hubert and Betty Legg and Joshua Dills.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Vester Dills, Jack parker, Joshua Dills, Vernon Patterson, Jonathan Dills and Arnold Butts.  Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

mr. jimmy lee seabolt

 

Mr. Jimmy Lee Seabolt, age 57, of Ty Brooke Lane, McMinnville, TN, formerly of Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2005 in the River Park Hospital in McMinnville following a brief illness.  Mr. Seabolt was born on September 18, 1947 in Murphy, NC, the son of the late Clinton Seabolt and the late Beatrice Seabolt.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army in the Vietnam war and was a lifetime member of the VFW.  Mr. Seabolt was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church.

Surviving Mr. Seabolt are his loving wife of four years, Jane Deese Seabolt of McMinnville, one son, Clint Seabolt of Blairsville, one step son, Michael Klinger of Lewisburg, PA, one sister, Carolyn Hunnicutt of Blairsville, several cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Special music was presented by Angie Burrell and Herbert Teague.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Kennon Seabolt, Randolph Jones, Terry Rogers, Phil Patton, Tim Shook, Robby Turner and Denny Patton.  Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery with the North Georgia Honor Guard conducting military honors.

mr. walter francis pawlowski

 

Mr. Walter Francis Pawlowski, age 89, of Coosa Valley Road, Blairsville, passed away on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at his home following an extended illness.  Mr. Pawlowski was born on march 13, 1915 in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Michael Pawlowski and the late Anna Godzwel Pawlowski.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of WWII.  Mr. Pawlowski was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

Surviving Mr. Pawlowski are his loving wife of sixty-four years, Adel Bujnicki Pawlowski of Blairsville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Susanne Lee of Mineral Bluff, GA, Faye and Thomas Eichenseer of Getzville, NY; two sons and daughters-in-law, Walter F. Jr. and Mary Jane Pawlowski of Getzville, NY, David and Catherine Paul of Escondido, CA; three grandchildren, Joshua Burns, Blake Eichenseer and Adele Wenzell, six great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be on Friday, February 11, 2005 at 9:15 a.m. from the St. Leo The Great Church in Amhurst, NY, with Monsignor Robert E. Zapfel officiating.  Interment following the Forest Lawn Cemetery.
