Mrs. Lena
England Woods, age 90, of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA, passed away Monday,
February 3,
1997 in a local nursing care facility. A
native of Blairsville, GA., she had lived most of her life in Walker
and
Catoosa counties. She was a retired
business owner, having formerly owned and operated the Lakeview Grocery
Store. She was a member of the Calvary
Memorial Baptist Church in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard L. and
Elizabeth
“Grandma Lizzie” England; her husband, Edward Woods and her first
husband, Carl
Everett; two sisters, Lois England and Mozelle Stone; and a brother,
Robert
England.
Survivors include:
one brother, Ernest England, of Blairsville, GA.; three sisters, grace
Bowers,
Ashland, OH., Estelle England, Ft.
Oglethorpe, GA.,
and Lucille Cain, Ringgold, GA.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral
services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 1997 in the
chapel of
W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home, Ft. Oglethorpe, GA. with Rev. B.B.
Dawn
and Rev. Greg Gladdis officiating. Interment
was in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.

Mr. Hank
Faucette, Jr., age 61, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday,
January 27,
1997 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
He was a
native of Durham, North Carolina and was a veteran
of the U.S. Army. Mr. Faucette had been
living in this area since May of 1990, coming here from Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida. He was retired after thirty
years of service as Captain of Broward County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Faucette was a member of Allegheny
Masonic Lodge, #114, F&AM; a member of the Shriner YAARB Temple of
Atlanta;
a member of the American Legion, Post#23, in Hiawassee, and was a
graduate of
St. Thomas University in Miami.
Surviving
are his former wife, Virginia Faucette of Blairsville and a daughter,
Mindy
Faucette of Austin, Texas.
Memorial
services were held Sunday, February 2, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. from the
chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with The Eulogy by Mr. Rick Evans.
In lieu of
flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Towns County Veteran
Park in
care of Towns County Bank.

Mrs.
Northa
Dyer Collins, age 99, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday,
February
6, 1997, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs.
Collins was born in Union County, Georgia on July 13, 1897, a daughter of
the late Bluford E. Dyer and Sarah Souther Dyer. She
was a lifelong resident of Union County
and was a homemaker. Mrs. Collins had
been a member of Choestoe Baptist Church since 1912, and was a carter
member of
the Choestoe Baptist Women’s Missionary Union, which was organized in
1929. She was preceded in death by her
husband, William Harve Collins, who died in 1977, and fourteen brothers
and
sisters.
Surviving
are daughters, Wilonell Dyer and Alda Marie Knight, both of
Blairsville, GA.;
son, William Clyde Collins of
Blairsville; thirteen grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren,
and three
great great grandchildren also survive, along with a multitude of
nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, February 8, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from
Choestoe
Baptist Church with Rev. James Geer, Rev. Grover Jones, and Rev. Bill
Gowder officiating. The following
gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Jerry Dyer, Larry Dyer,
Bill Collins, Carlton Collins, Lee Knight, and Jeff Knight. Interment was in Choestoe Cemetery. If you wish to make contributions in lieu of
flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials be
made to the Northa Collins Fund for Choestoe Baptist Church. Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville in
charge of arrangements.
