Mr. Thomas J. Argay,
age 74, of Craig Thompson Road, Blairsville, passed away at his home
following
and extended illness. He was born September 22, 1938 in Queens, NY to
the late
Louis and Mary Quinn Argay. Mr. Argay graduated from Sayville High
School on
Long Island. Mr. Argay joined the U.S. Navy and served for 4 years, and
was in
Beirut, Lebanon. He was a member of the VFW. He worked at Republic
Airlines Aviation
on Long Island and General Motors. He moved to Punta Gorda, FL and
worked as a
concrete finisher. Mr. Argay then worked for Winn-Dixie where he
retired in 2002.
He then moved to Blairsville, GA where he enjoyed making many new
friends,
fishing and the beautiful scenery. He attended the First Free Will
church in
Hayesville.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Argay of the home, children,
Suzanne and
Mark Cecci of Blairsville, John and Beth Argay of Venice, FL and Peter
and
Rebecca Argay of Lagrange, GA, brother, George Argay of NY,
sister-in-law,
Susan Kizziah, of TN, grandchildren, Mark Cecci, Jr., Elizabeth Cecci
and
Michael Argay.
Memorial
services were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Mountain
View
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Rumfeldt officiating. The family
received
friends at the funeral home following the service. In lieu of flowers
make
memorial contributions to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee.

Mr. Paige
Moore
Miller, age 93, of Sharp Top Circle, Blairsville passed away Tuesday,
February
5, 2013 at Union County Nursing Home following an extended illness. He
was born
September 10, 1919 in Turrell, AR to the late H. C. and Maudie Cook
Miller. He
had lived in this area since 2007. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps
Veteran. Mr.
Miller was a retired Game Warden with Arkansas Game and Fish. He loved
animals,
also loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife
Pauline
Miller. Mr. Miller was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include sons Gaylord and JoElla Miller of Jacksonville, AR
and Carl
and Beth Miller of Blairsville, three grandchildren, Todd Miller, Paige
Miller
and Tara Miller, three great grandchildren, Jessica Miller, John Miller
and
Shepherd Miller.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. at
Crittenden
Memorial Park in Marion, AR with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. In lieu
of
flowers make memorial contributions to Union County Nursing Home
Activities

Rev.
Ben B. Lewis age 58 of Beale Drive, Blairsville,
passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013 in the Erlanger Medical Center
following
an extended illness. Ben was born on Oct. 27, 1954 in Brunswick, GA and
grew up
on St. Simons Island, the son of the late Bennie B. Lewis and the late
Evelyn
Bullard Lewis. Having graduated from Glynn Academy in Brunswick GA in
1972, he
then attended and graduated from Andrew Jr. College in Cuthbert, GA.
Ben
graduated from Shorter College with a degree in Early Childhood
Education. He
also earned his Masters of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology
from
Emory University. Ben was called into the Ministry during his
childhood. He
started his Discipleship with the Methodist Church in 1977. From 1977
to the
present he has served these churches: Floyd Springs UMC- Armuchee, GA,
Mt.
Tabor UMC-Armuchee, GA, Cool Springs UMC- Clarksville, GA, Alley’s
Chapel-
Clarksville, GA, Lewis Memorial UMC- Augusta, GA, Franklin UMC-
Franklin, GA,
Trinity on the Hill- Augusta, GA, Second Ave. UMC- Rome, GA, Lavonia
UMC-
Lavonia, GA, Union County FUMC- Blairsville, GA. Rev. Lewis had been
Pastor at
Union County FUMC for the past seven years.
Surviving
Rev. Lewis are his loving wife of thirty-five
years, Gwen Whorton Lewis of Blairsville, two sons and
daughters-in-law, Dustin
and Natalie Lewis of St. Simons Island, GA, Matthew and Katie Lewis of
Rome,
GA, mother-in-law, Carol Whorton of Cave Spring, GA, a host of church
family,
many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013
from the First United Methodist Church of Union County with the Rev.
Mike
Cloyd, Rev. Stan Wallace and Dr. Gerald Thurman officiating. Special
music will
be presented by Jeff Bauman and Keith DeFoor. Serving as pallbearers
and
honorary pallbearers will be United Methodist Men. In lieu of flowers,
the
family requests that donations be made to the MAC fund of FUMC Union
County or
to the American Cancer Society in memory of Rev. Lewis. The family will
receive
friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8pm.

Mr. Dennis Montgomery
Moorhead, age 69, of Honaker Rd, Blairsville passed away Tuesday,
February 5,
2013 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. He was
born
February 26, 1943 in Jersey City, NJ to the late Albert E. and Edna
Telford
Moorhead. He moved to this area 7 years ago from Ft. Myers, FL. Mr.
Moorhead
was a U.S. Army veteran and served with the Honor Guard for President
Kennedy.
He was a member of the Blairsville Coin Club, and was an avid Bass
Fisherman
and bowler. Mr. Moorhead was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
brother.
He loved gardening and being outdoors. He was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife Jean Moorhead of the home, sons, Michael and
Teresa
Moorhead and Craig Moorhead both of Ft. Myers, FL, brother, Roy and Sue
Moorhead of Ft. Myers, FL, grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, Rachel and
Jake,
several nieces and nephews covering the United States.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers make
memorial contributions to the Wildlife Federation.

Gene
Dick Seabolt of 166 Eastanollee Bypass Road,
Eastanollee, GA, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013, at his
residence. Born
in Suches, Georgia July 14, 1934 to the late Vandora Seabolt. He was of
the Baptist
Faith
and a retired construction
worker that included projects such as the Hartwell Dam
and Interstate 85.
Left to cherish his memories are his children Ricky and Betty Berry of
Blairsville, Georgia Vivian Cobb of Toccoa, Georgia and Vera Seabolt
London of
Martin, Georgia; Gina Kendrick of Toccoa, Georgia and Joe Seabolt of
Commerce,
Georgia, sisters Adell Dills of Dahlonega, Georgia, Corabell Harris of
Murrayville, Georgia and Sarah Presley of Murrayville, Georgia, nine
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services to celebrate his life are incomplete at this time and
will be
