Mr.
William J. Stover, age 55, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 4, 1995 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Stover was born in Union County,
Georgia, on June 16, 1939, a son of Nora Gilreath Stover and the late
Oscar
Stover. He had lived in this area for
most of his life. Mr. Stover was
preceded in death by a brother, Mac Stover, and a son, Mitchell Stover. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Norene Thomas
Stover, of the home; his mother, Nora Stover Sulliens, of Gainesville,
Georgia;
three sons: Donnie Stover of Indiana; Bud Stover and Junior Stove, both
of
Calhoun, Georgia; two step-daughters: Marcella Underwood, and Mrs.
Carolyn
Mull, both of Blairsville; two step-sons: Rex Rogers and Gary Rogers,
both of
Blairsville; a brother, Kenneth Stover, of Blairsville; four sisters:
Ruby
Towe, Hazel Anderson, Irene Towe, and Olena Dyer, all of Gainesville;
and Ruth
Burke, of Flowery Branch, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren and several
nieces and
nephews also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
February 7, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Funeral Home with
Rev.
Fred Thomas and Rev. Loys Waters officiating.
Special music was presented by Gail Smith. The
following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Terry Stover, Larry Stover, Doug Breedlove, Steve Odom,
Troy
Ledford, and Leonard Sosebee. Interment
was in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

in charge of arrangements.

Mrs.
Geneva S. Hughes, age 86, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 11, 1995 in Union
County
Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Mrs. Hughes was born in Tennessee on
April 9, 1908, a daughter of the late Alfred Smelser and Martha Ann
Sellers
Smelser. She had lived most of her life
in Union County, and was a retired public school teacher.
Mrs. Hughes was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Union County, United Methodist Women, Blairsville
Order of
the Easter (sic) Star, and the Union County Retired Teachers
Association. She was preceded in death by
her husband,
Bill Hughes, who passed away in 1980.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs.
Lillian Hulen of Huntersville, North Carolina; Mrs. Pauline England and
Mrs.
Alice Smathers, both of Knoxville, Tennessee; Mrs. Hughes is survived
locally
by a niece, Mrs. Mary Cook, of Blairsville; numerous other nieces,
nephews and
friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
February 15, 1995 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville with
Rev. Charles Black and Rev. Robert Passmore
officiating. Special music for
the service was presented by Mrs. Martha Ann Cone and Mrs. Kelly
Schuknecht. A Eulogy (sic) was presented
by Mrs. Cone. Interment was in Union
Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The
following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Roy Cordell, Wayne Smathers, Donald
Cordell,
Melvin Cook, Billy Kelley, George A. Cordell.
In lieu
of flowers,
the family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the Gideons
Memorial
bible Fund.

Mr.
Leslie R. Seaborn, age 89, of
Blairsville, formerly of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away on Sunday,
February 12, 1995 at General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Seaborn is survived by his
wife, Sarah and
son, Leslie, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
