Mr.
Ned Woody White, age 76, of Wolf Pen Gap Rd., Suches passed away on
Monday,
Feb. 8, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.
Mr. White was born on Aug.
18, 1933 in Suches, the son of the late Lee White and the late Vella
Mae Woody
White. He was a native and
lifelong resident of Suches. He was a
veteran of the US Air Force of the Korean War.
Ned loved camping and his dogs.
He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather and
friend to
all. Mr. White was a deacon and member
of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. White are his loving wife of forty-eight years, Linda Tritt White
of
Suches, one daughter, Mimi White of Suches, two sons and
daughters-in-law,
Tommy and Susan White of Suches, Patrick and Tiffany White of Suches,
one
sister, Jean McNey of Suches, three grandchildren, Hannah, Haley and
Cameron, many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Mt.
Lebanon
Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Drummond, Rev. Jimmy Tanner and
Rev. Gerald
Edmondson officiating. Dr. don Pruitt gave the eulogy.
Special music was presented by Brenda Brookshire and Diane Duffy. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers, Benny Brookshire, Bill Woody, Charlie Dobson, Cliff
Morgan, George
Burch, George Van Voorhis, Hobert Lunsford and Johnny Moss. Interment followed in the church
cemetery. The family met with friends at
the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9 p.m.

loretta elizabeth butts thomas
Mrs.
Loretta Elizabeth Butts Thomas, age 75, of Homerun Rd., Blairsville,
passed
away on Feb. 10, 2010 in the Willow Wood Nursing Home following an
extended
illness. Mrs. Thomas was born on May 16,
1934 in Union County, the daughter of the late Homer Butts and the late
Minnie
Ledford Butts. She was a native and
lifelong resident of Union County.
Loretta was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was preceded in
death by a granddaughter, Bridget Totherow.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs.
Thomas are one daughter and son-in-law, Raelene and David Geer of
Tuscaloosa,
AL, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tony and Robbin Totherow of
Gainesville, GA, Flint Totherow of Buford, GA, Nathan and Mary Totherow
of NY,
one sister, Lorene Grace Shepherd of Dalton, two brothers and one
sister-in-law, Arnold and Louise Butts of Blairsville, Ivan Butts of
Blairsville, four grandchildren, Franklin Geer, Mindy Totherow, Tyler
Totherow
and Mindy Mosser, three great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Jackson and
Carter, many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services
were held on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the Mountain View
Chapel
with the Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Special music was presented by the
Philadelphia Church Choir. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers, Vernon Patterson, Vester, Jonathon,
buck,
Jacob and Joshua Dills. Interment
followed in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family met with friends at the funeral
home on Friday evening from 6-9 p.m.

Rodman
Chamberlain, 86, of Suches, GA died February 10, following a brief
illness. He is survived by his loving
wife, Betsy, three sons, Ty, Tim and David, his step-daughter Beth
Holland,
step-son Bernard Holland and six grandchildren.
A fourth son, Kimo, and a daughter, Ann, predeceased him. His body was donated to Emory University
Medical School.
Rod was
born in Connecticut, with roots going back to
colonial times. He attended Williams
College and graduated from Wharton School of the University of
Pennsylvania. During WWII he served as a
Lieut. (jg) in the US Navy. He was in
sales management at The Stanley Works for twenty years.
He lived in Atlanta for the next forty years,
working as a manufacturer’s representative.
In Suches, he was an active hiker, bicyclist and tennis player. He also participated in courses at OASIS and
ICL where he developed a love for poetry and participated in a poetry
composing
group. He tutored at Colwell Detention
Center and Lifelong Learning Center. He
volunteered at the Union County Chamber of Commerce and Regency Hospice. He also performed several memorable roles in
productions with the Blue Ridge Community Theater.
He had a
gift for acquiring friends of all ages. His
family and friends appreciated his zest
for life, boundless curiosity, and contagious enthusiasm for new
adventures.
Memorial
services will be private.

Eileen
Theresa Walsh, 60, a ten year resident of Blairsville, Georgia and
previously
of Vero Beach, Florida, died on February 9, 2010 at her home after a
long
battle with cancer and lupus.
She was
born on September 13, 1949 in Worcester, MA to the late Claire Lillian
(Whelan)
Walsh and Vincent Martin Walsh, Sr.
Survivors include her long-time friend, Sandra Campbell of
Blairsville;
her brother, Vincent M. Walsh, Jr. of Boylston, MA; two sisters, Joanne
C.
Carlson of Manchester, CT and Sheila M. Shrewsberry of Edgewater, MD,
and nine
nieces and nephews. Eileen was
predeceased by her brother, Martin J. Walsh of New York City, NY.
After
moving to Montvale, NJ during her senior year of high
school, Eileen returned to Worcester, MA to graduate from Marian High
School. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree
from St. Joseph’s College in W. Hartford, CT, and then, following her
dream,
became a successful folk artist, jeweler and equine portrait painter.
Services
and interment are private. In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 3717 Highway 515,

Robyn
Lynn Giadrosich age 54, of Cleveland, formerly of Suches, passed away
Saturday,
February 13, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief
illness.
Mrs.
Giadrosich was born on March 8, 1955 to the late Robert
Lee Pruitt & Pauline Lunsford Pruitt.
She was a homemaker and member of Acts Church of Henry County.
Survivors
include her husband, Richard Giadrosich,
Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Jody & Bobbi Johnson, Molena;
daughter,
Melissa Munkus, Sandy Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Samantha
& Burt
Fordham, Blairsville, Rachel & Shawn Rich, Sandy Springs; brother
&
sister-in-law, Dr. Don & Theresa Pruitt, Suches; sisters &
brothers-in-law, Gayle & David Bass, Judy & Stan Stover, all of
Cleveland, Joy & Larry Barker, Gainesville, Dale & John
Waggoner,
Ellenwood; sister, Susan King, Sherry Hudson, both of Stockbridge; 5
grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Funeral
services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the
Chapel of
Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris
Anderson will officiate. Burial will
follow in Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Angela (Margie) Darwin, age 78, of Ivy Log Rd., Blairsville passed away
on
Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the Heritage Health Care of Blue Ridge
following
an extended illness following a brief illness.
Mrs. Darwin was born on July 10, 1931 in Carrollton, GA, the
daughter of
the late Elmer Rudy Maddox and
the late Emma Belle Word
Maddox. Mrs. Darwin enjoyed crocheting
and making quilts. She was a seamstress
and clothes designer. She also loved
traveling with her husband. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Darwin, son, Rocky Brown Bilbo,
sisters, Evelyn Gable, Lucile Scales and Martha (Monk) Bilbo, brothers,
Norman,
Kirby, Mayo and Shirley (Shane) Maddox.
Mrs. Darwin was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mrs. Darwin are seven children, Nell Buchanan of Carrollton, GA,. Ricky Brown of LA, Carol Ann Walker, of
Fitzgerald, GA,
Terry Robert of The Colony, TX, Angela Aguilar of Colony, TX, Anita
Garcia of
Ballwin, MO, John Darwin of Raeford, NC, one brother and sister-in-law,
Elmer
and Drussilla Maddox of Blairsville, one sister, Bettie Hughes of
Carrollton,
GA, several nieces, nephews, numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren, many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11 a.m. from the
Mountain
View Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Lovell officiating.
Special music was presented by Pastor Don and
Sandra Parmely and Brenda Sue Green.
Interment was held in the Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Fort
Bliss, TX
where she was laid to rest with her husband.
In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that

made to the Gideons in memory of Mrs. Darwin.
