Mrs.
Hazel Lee Daniel, age 84 of Savannah’s Way,
Blairsville, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home
following an
extended illness. Mrs. Daniel was born on Dec. 1, 1928 in Atlanta, GA,
the
daughter of the late Charles William Tumlin and the late Alma Hart
Tumlin.
Hazel had made her home in Blairsville for the past twenty-nine years,
moving
here from Lilburn, GA. She loved her dogs, Tuff and Teecoo and Goldie.
She was
an avid reader and also enjoyed baking, cooking and gardening. One of
her
greatest passions was reading and studying her Bible. She was a loving
mother,
grandmother and was a friend to many. She was preceded in death by a
son, Larry
Fetherolf who died while serving his Country in Vietnam in 1967 and
also a
grandson, Trevor Bango. Mrs. Daniel attended the House of Prayer Church.
Surviving
Mrs. Daniel are one son, Noel Fetherolf
of Blairsville, one daughter, Della Bango of Blairsville, one
granddaughter,
Savannah Bango of New York, her best friend of forty-three years, Carol
Pye of
Blairsville, adopted family, Steven Pye of Blairsville and Chris Norris
of
Atlanta, Jacob Pye of Blairsville, Charlene Shearer of Blairsville,
multiple
cousins, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, February 15,
2013 at 1 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton
officiating. Favorite hymns of Hazel’s were presented for the service.
Family
and friends served as pallbearers. Interment followed in the House of
Prayer
Cemetery. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Thursday
evening
from 6-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that
donations may be made to the Rescue of Animals or to the Humane Society
Mountain Shelter in memory of Mrs. Daniel.

Mrs. Zola Rogers, age 90, of
Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday morning, February 15, 2013 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Rogers was born in Swain
County, NC, on Thursday, June 1, 1922, a daughter of the late Floyd
Burnette
and the late Cora Dills Burnette. She had lived in Blairsville for most
of her
life and was a homemaker. Mrs. Rogers was a member of Pleasant Grove
Baptist
Church. Besides her parents, she had been preceded in death by her
husband,
John Silvey Rogers; a son, Hoyt Rogers; two sisters, Genevieve Bowers
and Siva
Lee Pickelsimer; and four brothers: Odell Burnette, W.F. Burnette,
Marvin
Burnette, and Hansel Burnette.
Mrs. Rogers was dearly loved and
leaves these family members: Brenda and Leonard Sosebee, of
Blairsville; Faye
and Ronnie Hawkins, of Chatsworth, GA; Tommy and Carol Bowers, of
Gainesville,
GA; Preston Burnette, of Chatsworth; and Arlene and Donnie Scott, also
of
Chatsworth. Many other relatives also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rogers were
held on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 3 p.m., in the Chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Harley Hunter officiating. Special music was presented by Cindy
Whitmore. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Tommy Bowers,
Jr.,
Ronnie Hawkins, Cory Hawkins, Preston Burnette, Jerry Stover, and Jerry
Stover,
II. Burial was in Liberty Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family met with friends at
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville on Friday evening, between the
hours of 6
until 9p.m.

Jessie
“Pat” Bell passed away peacefully at
Stonehenge assisted living on February 7, 2013.
She was
born in Atlanta, GA, September 29, 1924 to
Lucius Jeremiah and Helen Gartrell.
She was a
Sergeant in the US Army where she was an
electroencephalograph technician at the neurosurgery center of Kennedy
General
Hospital. In 1946 she received an award for meritorious conduct in the
performance of her military duties.
She was
married to William Braswell Bell Jr. on
September 22, 1962 in Atlanta, GA.
Pat
enjoyed hiking and worked with the Appalachian
Trail Conservancy for a brief time. Pat liked to write and was working
on a
book. She also wrote many short stories as well as writing articles for
the Stonehenge News Letter, where she
resided for the past two years. Pat and
Bill lived in Franklin, NC until they moved to Stonehenge.
A
memorial service was held at Stonehenge assisted
Living on February 12th, with Rev. Hubert Legg officiating. She is
survived by
her husband William “Bill” Bell.
