Nicholson, age 87, of

Nicholson was born in

include his wife, Geneva Rich Nicholson, of the home; two daughters: Doris
Collins, of Marietta, and Kathy Walton, of Murphy, NC, a sister, Johnnie
Nicholson, of Blairsville; seven grandchildren: Kourtney Smart, Brittany
Walton, Paul Walton, Terri Norman, Lisa Dean, Craig Rogers and Phillip Rogers,
eleven great grand-children also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, February 25, 2000 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville, with Rev. Ray Potts, and Rev. Vernon
Davenport officiating. Special music was
presented by The Faith Singers. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Rex Odom, Fred Roberts, Hoyt
Cunningham, David Cox, Tony Dinatale, and Steve Kimsey. Serving as honorary escort to the family was
Earl Odom. Interment was in
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hood
was a graduate of Shorter College and employed by the State Board of
Health. For 30 years she worked with her
husband, Dr. Hood as Dental Assistant in Decatur, Georgia. She was a member of the Blairsville United
Methodist Church.
Survivors
include her daughter and son-in-law, Joye Hood and Mack Spates of Lakemont; son
and daughter-in-law, Carl and Anne Hood of Midville; seven grandchildren, Sheri
Spates Slappey of Atlanta, Sheli Spates Jones of Gainesville, Clint Hood of
Louisville, Chip Hood of Gainesville, Chris Hood of Wadley, Clay Hood of
Wadley, and Suzanne Hood of Statesboro.
