Mr.
Donald Andrew Kemp, age 60, of
In his
younger years, Don was a member of Cypress Gardens Ski team, a Scout
master,
placed second in the Georgia Car rodeo, was instrumental in starting
the
Fayette County Soccer League, and served as its president for seven
years. Don was the consummate outdoorsman
whose
passions covered a wife range of activities, including hunting, deep
sea
fishing, gardening, hiking, kayaking, snow skiing and water skiing.
As
rheumatoid arthritis placed greater strains on him physically, Don
never let it
slow him down, he served in numerous roles at his church, First United
Methodist of Blairsville, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Methodist
Men,
etc. You could often find Don wandering
the halls at night making sure that everything was turned off and
locked up, or
out working on the grounds. He also
served on the Board of the Boy Scouts for
Don left
an indelible impression of everyone he met, as if he had known you for
his
entire life. His life was one of
conviction in his beliefs and love for his family and friends.
Surviving
Don are his loving and devoted wife of forty years, Eva Tolliver Kemp
of
Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Maria Kemp of Duluth,
GA, two
brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Cecilia Kemp of Augusta, Dr.
Doug and
Dr. Ginny kemp of Athens, many other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Lee
Kemp in 1985.

Sara
Rogers Carmon, age 88, of Knoxville, TN, formerly of Blairsville, GA
passed
away February 2, 2006 after a long illness.
She was a 1936 graduate of Union County High and graduated in
1939 from
Knoxville General Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a member of Washington Pike Methodist Church in
Knoxville, TN; a
member of Christian Service Sunday School Class, the Women’s Service
Guild and
XYZ Club. She was preceded in death by
her husband of 59 years, James S. Carmon “Jay” and her parents Mr. and
Mrs.
Olin F. Wellborn of
Survivors
are two sons, James F. Carmon and wife Nancy of Knoxville, TN, Robert E. Carmon and wife Elizabeth of
Cleveland, TN; four grandchildren: Craig Carmon and wife Gaye of
Nashville, TN,
Jeffery Carmon and wife Zelta of Spartanburg, SC, Chad Reynolds and
wife Sommer
of Cleveland, TN, Brett Carmon and wife Brittany of Chattanooga, TN;
three
great grandchildren, Hayden, Emma and Samuel Carmon; two brothers,
James W.
Rogers and wife Lenore of Fayetteville, NC, Foster Wellborn of
Lawrenceville,
GA; two sisters, Helen W. Owenby of Blairsville, GA and Eleanor W. Lee
and
husband Hugh lee of Blairsville, GA.
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear
friends. She was loved by everyone who
ever met
her. She had a very sweet outgoing
personality. Sara spent her life caring
for her family and friends with so much devotion.

4, 2006
with interment in Sherwood memorial Garden; Dr. James Bailes officiating in Knoxville, TN.
