Mrs.
Burnedett Gerard White, age 87, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, February 17, 1995 in
Northeast
Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
Mrs. White was born August 24, 1907,
in Greens County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Dr. Lewis Dooley and
Sophia
Bernard Dooley. She had lived in
Blairsville
for the past four years, coming here from Florence, South Carolina. Mrs. White was a member of Pinetop Baptist
Church, a member of the Christian Women’s Club, and a past member of
Glendale
Baptist Church in Florence. Mrs. White
and her husband owned the Florence Music Store.
Survivors include eight children:
Norma McDougal, of Denver, Colorado; Vivienne Johnson of Dover,
Florida;
Kenneith Gerard of Boca Raton, Florida; Zelda Merritt of Blairsville;
Juniata
Taylor of Florence, South Carolina; Tim Gerard of Jackson, Mississippi,
Raymond
White of Dallas, Texas; and Margot Freeze of Florence.
Ten grandsons, eleven great grandsons, one
great great grandson, eleven graddaughters, (sic) and six great great
granddaughters
also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
February 21, 1995 at 3:00 p.m. from Pinetop Baptist Church with Rev.
Henry
Loggins officiating. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Dayton Dyer, Tommy Bowers, Clavin
(sic) Hood,
Tim Dyer, John Schindelar, and Stacy Dyer.
Interment was in the church cemetery.

mrs. eunice alfreda deering stevens
Mrs.
Eunice Alfreda Deering Stevens, age 79,
of Branan Lodge, Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, February
21, 1995 in
Union General Hospital.
Mrs. Stevens was a native of Rhode
Island. She was a member of First United
Methodist Church of Union County.
Surviving are her husband, Mr.
Gordon Stevens, of the home; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Orr of Saco, Maine,
also
survives.
Memorial services were held Friday,
February 24, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from First United Methodist Church of
Union
County with Dr. Robert Darby officiating. Graveside
services were held Friday, February
24, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. from Pocasset Cemetery in Cranston, Rhode
Island.

mrs. winnie mae deyton everett
Mrs.
Winnie Mae Deyton Everett, age 61, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 1995 at her
home.
Mrs. Everett was born in Union
County, Georgia, on September 10, 1933, a daughter of the late Perly
Deyton and
Della Adams Deyton. She was a lifelong
resident of Union County, and a member of Youngstown Baptist Church.
Surviving are five children: daughter,
Nancy Collins of Blairsville; son, Rex Everett also of Blairsville;
son, Ray
Everett of Young Harris, Georgia; son, Gary Everett of Lexington, KY;
and
daughter, Michelle Smith of Hayesville, NC; a brother, Richard Teague
of
Blairsville; four sisters: Mary Sue Hughes, Lorena Trulove, Ethel
Chambers, and
Janie Devers, all of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, three great
grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday,
February 23, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Funeral Home with
Rev.
Leon Henderson officiating. Special
music was presented by Rev. Henderson, Lewis Smith, Willaree Davenport,
and
Rev. Jimmy Smith. The following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: Ricky Hughes, Wayne Hughes, Jackie
Adams, Troy
Hughes, Larry Trulove, and Stacy Chambers.
Intermen (sic) was in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Roy
R. Davis, age 51, of Route 8,
Dahlonega, GA died Monday, February 20, 1994 at the Lanier Park
Regional
Hospital in Gainesville, GA, following an extended illness. Mr. Davis was a native of Union County who
had lived in Lumpkin County most of his life.
He was a lawn maintenance worker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Stella
Davis, Dahlonega, GA; his mother, Mrs. Beulah Davis, Blairsville, GA;
sons,
Ronnie Davis and Timmy Davis, both of Dahlonega, GA; daughters, Rhonda
Dockery,
Cleveland GA and Tina Justus, Monroe, GA; brothers, Larry Davis,
Blairsville,
GA, Michael Davis, Dahlonega, GA, and Ben Davis, Blairsville, GA;
sisters,
Allene Strickland, Dahlonega, GA, Faye Bryant, Dahlonega, GA, Glenda
Jones,
Fairburn, GA; seven grandchildren and a large number of other relatives
also
survive.
Funeral services were scheduled for
2 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 1994 at the Banister Funeral Home
Chapel with
Rev. Tommy Pickelsimer and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.
Interment was in the Macedonia Baptist Church
Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

Mrs.
Catherine Burke Mudge, age 67, of
Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of White County, passed away Tuesday,
February
7, 1995 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville following injuries
sustained
in an automobile accident.
Mrs. Mudge was born in Little Rock,
Arkansas, and had lived in Florida and Sautee, Georgia before moving to
Blairsville. She was the daughter of the
late James Edmund Burke, Sr. and Harriet Isabella Isbell.
Mrs. Mudge was a retired nurse and was a
member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Blairsville.
Survivors include her husband,
Charlie Mudge, Sr. of Blairsville; sons, Charles W. Mudge, Jr. of
Blairsville,
Bill Budge of St. Augustine, Florida; daughters, Frances Harley of
Chattahoochee, Florida; Mary White of Aiken, South Carolina; Christine
Taylor
of Gilbert, South Carolina; Barbara Aylor of Midland, Texas; brother,
Jim Burke
of Covington, Louisianna; (sic) fifteen grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Sue
Davenport, age 72, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Sunday, February 19, 19914 in St. Joseph’s
Hospital in
Atlanta.
Mrs. Davenport was born on November
21, 1922, in Hayesville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William
Burrell
and Myrtle Daniels Burrell. She had
lived in this area for most of her life and attended Ivy Log Baptist
Church.
Surviving are daughter and
son-in-law, Mildred and Joe Cook, of Lake City, Florida; daughter and
son in
law, Melba and Tommy Jackson, of Jonesboro, Georgia; daughter and son
in law,
Margie and Milton Alexander, of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law,
Mazie and
Bruce Gray, also of Blairsville; daughter and son in law, Martha and
Johnny
Brackett, of Blairsville; son and daughter in law, Gary and Paula
Davenport, of
Blairsville; seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four
sisters; Mrs. Eva Hemphill, and Mrs. Barbara Garnto, both of
Blairsville; Mrs.
Chris Thompson, of Trion, Georgia, and Mrs. Bonita Cantrell, of Dallas,
Georgia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
February 1, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from Ivy Log Baptist church (sic) with
Rev. jerry
Karnes and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.
Special music was presented by the Faith Singers.
