Mr.
Houston
Erwin, 85, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, February 28,
1996.
Mr. Erwin
was born in Union County, Georgia, on March 6,
1910, a son of the late Benjamin Erwin and Murphy Jones Erwin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served
during World War II. Mr. Erwin was of
the Methodist Faith (sic). His wife,
Mrs. Mildred Gay Erwin, preceded him in death, and also a
granddaughter,
Heather Lynn Bernard, preceded him in death.
Surviving
are his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Charles Bernard, of Athens,
Georgia,
and daughter Carol MacChiarella, of Florida; two sisters, Ann Burgess
of
Cleveland, Georgia, and Ellen Nix, of Blairsville, Georgia;
grandchildren: Eric
Bernard of Athens, and Selma Goetz of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; grand son
in law,
Paul Goetz also of Milwaukee.
Funeral
services were held Friday, March 1, 1996 at 2 p.m.
from the chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev.
Robert
Quinnelly officiating. Members of the
North Georgia Honor Guard served as pallbearers and also presented
Military Honors. Interment was in Bethel
Methodist Church
Cemetery.
