Mrs. Mae
Lewis, age 90, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Monday, February 27, 1995 in Union County Nursing
Home in
Blairsville.
Mrs. Lewis was born in Union County,
Georgia, on May 16, 1904, a daughter of the late Jesse Lawrence and
Myrtle
Colwell Lawrence. She was a homemaker
and a lifelong resident of this area.
Mrs. Lewis was a member of First United Methodist Church of
Union
County.
Surviving are four nieces: Louise
Lawrence, Betty Lawrence, Elaine Lawrence, and Mary Ann Hayes; two
nephews: Jim
Lawrence and Charles Lawrence; several great nieces and great nephews
also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
February 28, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with
Rev. Charles
Black officiating. Special music for the
service was presented by Mr. Terry Hooper and Mrs. Jackie Hill. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Loy Hayes, Jim Colwell, Tom Colwell, Steve Colwell, Curtis
Colwell, and Doug Colwell. Interment was
in Shady Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sue
Davenport, age 72, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Sunday, February19, 1995 in St. Joseph’s Hospital
in Atlanta.
Mrs. Davenport was born on November
21, 1922, in Hayesville, North Carolina, a daughter of the late William
Burrell
and Myrtle Burrell Daniels. She had
lived in this area for most of her life and attended Ivy Log Baptist
Church.
Surviving are daughter and son in
law, Mildred and Joe Cook, of Lake City, Florida; daughter and son in
law,
Melba and Tommy Jackson, of Jonesboro, Georgia; daughter and son in
law, Margie
and Milton Alexander, of Blairsville; daughter and son in law, Mazie
and Bruce
Gray, also of Blairsville; daughter and son in law, Martha and Johnny
Brackett,
of Blairsville; son and daughter in law, Gary and Paula Davenport, of
Blairsville, son and daughter in law, Glen and Debbie Davenport;
seventeen grandchildren,
fifteen great grandchildren, four sisters: Mrs. Eva Hemphill, and Mrs.
Barbara
Garnto, both of Blairsville; Mrs. Chris Thompson, of Trion, Georgia,
and Mrs.
Bonita Cantrell, of Dallas, Georgia.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
February 21, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from Ivy Log Baptist church (sic) with
Rev. Jerry
Karnes and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.
Special music was presented by the Faith Singers.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Vinson Hooper, David Hemphill, W.H. McCarter, Al Garnto,
David
Daniels, and Jack Tucker. The following
gentlemen served as Honorary Escort to the Family: David Conley, J.B.
Brendle,
Neil Efird, Wayne Colwell, Larry Henderson, Ray Rhoten, Reid Colwell,
and Jack
Lance. Interment was in the church
cemetery.

Mr. Frank
Hedden Dyer, age 99, of Dahlonega,
Georgia, died Sunday, March 5, 1995, at the Gold City Convalescent
Center
following a period of declining health.
Mr. Dyer was a native of Union County and was a former resident
of White
County. He was a retired farmer and was
a member of the Choestoe Baptist Church in Union County.
Survivors include sons: Wendell Dyer
and Wesley Dyer, both of Cleveland, GA, Leonard Dyer of Daytona Beach,
FL,
Ronald Dyer of Gainesville, GA; daughters: Mrs. Clara Seabolt of
Cleveland, GA,
Mrs. Kathleen Nahser of Memphis, TN, Mrs. Annie Lou Holloway of
Dahlonega, GA,
Ruth Dyer of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Patty Holland of Gainesville, GA;
sister, Mrs.
Northa Collins of Blairsville, GA; 28 grandchildren, several great
grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and several other relatives
also
survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2
p.m. Tuesday, march 7, 1995 at the Mountainview Baptist Church in White
County
with the remains placed in state at the church at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Grover Jones will officiate.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs.
Lorraine Timmer, age 80, of
Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday, March 3, 1995, in Murphy Medical
Center
Nursing Home in Murphy, NC.
Mrs. Timmer was born in Los Angeles,
California, on May 7, 1914, a daughter of the late Clayton Brenenstahl
and
Margaret Lopez Brenenstahl. She had
lived in the Blairsville area since 1971.
She was a member of Thomas Chapel Assemblies of God.
Surviving
are her
husband, Mr. John Timmer of Blairsville; three sons: Lawrence Timmer of
San
Pedro, CA, Robert Timmer of Huntington Beach, GA, and David Timmer of
Blairsville; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren: and one
great-great-grandchild also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
March 6, 1995, at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of the funeral home with Rev.
Aline
Mosteller officiating. Music for the
service was presented by Joan Combs. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Allan Laukka, Owen Nelson,
Sam Beck,
Gary Kaufman, Andy Blackenship, and Dan Gaddy.
Interment was in Ivy Log Baptist Church Cemetery.
