Mrs.
Lois Drake Lance, age 65, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday,
March 6,
1998 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Lance
was born in Union County, Georgia on June 6, 1932 a daughter of the late Haskel Drake and Willie Colwell Drake. She was a lifelong resident of this area and
was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving
are her husband, Mr. Cecil Lance, of Blairsville; son and
daughter-9in-law,
Scott and Tammie Lance, of Blairsville; brothers, jack and Bill Drake
of
Blairsville; granddaughters Amber and Becky Lance of Blairsville;
nieces,
nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, March 8, 198 at 3 p.m. from Antioch Baptist
church
with Rev. Bill Rabern, Rev. Tom Smith, Rev. Jerry Helton, Rev. Harold
Sangster,
and Rev. Tommy Seay officiating. Special
music was presented by Tammy Blasingame, Danita Owenby, and Lita Gowder.
The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Jim Clark,
Floid Schneider, Arthur Gurr, Steve Drake, Jim Westberry, and Steve
Goines. Interment was in Antioch Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Martha Seabolt Garrett, age 89, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Saturday,
February 28, 1998 in Blairsville at her home.
She was born in Union County, Georgia on May 5, 1908, a daughter
of the
late John Seabolt and Rebecca Grizzle Seabolt.
She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of this area. Mrs. garrett (sic)
was a member of New Harmony Baptist church.
She was preceded in death by two infant sons, grandson, bobby
(sic)
Dixon in 1963, and her husband, Lincoln Garrett in 1978.
Surviving
are her son, Willis Garrett of Young Harris, GA.; daughter, Mae Clark
of
Gainesville, GA.; daughter, Beulah Penland of Murrayville, GA.; son,
Jim
Garrett, of Gainesville; daughter, Bessie Brown of Blairsville;
daughter Bertha
Powers of Dahlonega, GA.; daughters Shirley Carey, Myrtle Collins,
Evelyn Shook
and Vivian Conley, all of Blairsville; sister, Minnie Seabolt of
Suches; thirty
grandchildren, thirty-six great grandchildren and fourteen great great
grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at New Harmony Baptist Church
with
Rev. Claude Thomas and Rev. Kenneth Beavers officiating.
Special music was presented by The
Pickelsimer’s. The following grandsons
served as pallbearers: Keith Conley, Larry Garrett, Charles Penland,
R.B.
Brown, Jerry Dixon, Rodney Carey, and Benny Collins.
Other grandsons served as honorary escort to
their family. Interment was in New
Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Stella Meers Head, age 86, of Suches, GA., died Saturday, March 7th,
1998 at
her son’s residence in Cumming, GA. following an extended illness.
Mrs. Head
was a native of Fannin County, was a homemaker, and was of the Baptist
Faith.
She is
survived by daughters and son-in-laws, Lorene and Pete Bachmann,
Mableton, GA.,
Janie Ruth and Lamone Ray, Reidsville, GA.; sons and daughter-in-laws,
Leroy
and Katheline Head, Cumming, GA., Paul and Jan Head, Cumming, GA,.; 16
grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and several other relatives also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, March 9, 1998 at The Coopers Creek Baptist
Church in
Fannin County with Rev. Scott Sorrells and Rev. Buddy Adams officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Banister Funeral Home of Dahlonega was in
charge of arrangements.

Flonnie
Thompson Beaver, age 91, of Cast St, Hendersonville, NC formerly of
Murphy, NC
died Wednesday, March 4, 1998 after a long illness in a Hendersonville,
NC,
nursing home.
She was a
native of Union County, Georgia. She was
a homemaker. Her hobbies were quilt
making and doing picture puzzles. She excepted (sic) Christ as her Savior at age 11,
and joined
Bethany Baptist Church where she was a devoted church worker and member. She was the daughter of the late Lawson and
Nora Davenport Thompson. She was
preceded in death by her husband Arthur Beaver; two sons Clyde beaver
and Wayne
Beaver; sister Bonnie Thompson; grandchild
Brenda Lou
and great-grandchild Cody Ball.
Surviving are
her daughter-in-law Mary Beaver of Hendersonville, NC; two
granddaughters and
their husbands, Linda and Carl Baldwin and Teresa and David Ball, all
of
Hendersonville, NC; four great-grandchildren, Brent and Kristy Baldwin
and
Brandon and Ashley Ball, all of Hendersonville, NC; and a host of
cousins and
friends in Murphy, NC and the Blairsville, GA area.
Funeral
services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 1998 at the Townson
rose
Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. The
Rev. Jerry Young officiated. Burial was
in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, GA.
Pallbearers were Michael Thompson, Paul
Thompson, Roy beaver, David Hughes, Ty Cobb and Thomas Little.

Jeanette Howard Campbell, age 75, of Blairsville, Georgia died

5, 1998 in a Clay County, N.C. nursing home.
She was a
native of Tuscarawas County, OH. She was
a homemaker. She attended the Methodist
Church in Blairsville, Georgia. She was the daughtrer (sic) of the late
James
Otis and Myrtle Mae West Howard. She was
preceded in death by her husband Oscar Kenneth Campbell.
Surviving
are a daughter and her husband, Reva Jo and the Rev. William “Sonny”
Payne of
Tyler, Texas; two grandchildren, Timothy Lee Payne and Ami Elizabeth
Payne Burr
and three great-grandchildren, Jonathan Christopher Burr, Catherine Jo
Burr and
Elizabeth Anne Payne.
