Dennis
I. Saxton, age 50, Blairsville, GA passed away Tuesday, March 5, 1996
following
a period of declining health. Mr. Saxton
was born in Huntington, WV the son of Ira
Clay and
Stella Cotton Saxton. Surviving are his
wife Mrs. Connie Saxton of Blairsville, GA; daughters: Patricia
Brumfield of
Glenwood, WV; Teresa Kadunce of Blairsville, GA; son: Greg Bryant of
Royal Palm
Beach, FL; Dennis Michael Saxton of Glenwood, WV; three sisters; five
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral
services were held Saturday, March 9,
1996 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the Ceredo Mortuary in Ceredo, WV
with
interment in the Cyrus Cemetery in Prichard, WV. Ceredo
Mortuary of Ceredo, WV was in charge

Mrs. Vina
King, age 85, of 5003 Vina Drive, Blairsville, passed away February 29,
1996.
Mrs. was
born June 5, 1910. She had lived most of
her life in the Blairsville area. She
was the daughter of the late Joseph Abraham Anderson and Mary Mae
Ledford
Anderson.
Mrs. King
was preceded in death by two husbands, Walt King
and Tom King. Also by a sister Cleo
Dockery and three brothers: Lawrence, Carl and Gene Anderson. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
Survivors
include one sister, Gracie Belle Anderson and two brothers, Garnett and
Hobert
Anderson all of Blairsville. Nieves and
nephews also survive.
The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Hoyt King, Tommy King,
Charles King,
Randall Anderson, Danny Key and Jerry Dockery.
Funeral
services were held Sunday March 3, 1996 at 2:00 p.m.
from the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, with Rev. Leon Henderson
officiating. Music was furnished by
Kenneth and Elaine
Young. Interment was in Ebenezer Baptist
church (sic) Cemetery.

Mrs. Rube
E. Little Hunter, 79, of Morganton, Georgia, passed away Wednesday,
March 6,
1996 in Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs.
Hunter was born on May 26, 1916, in Union County, Georgia,
a daughter of the late Thomas Gordon Little and Callie Walker Little. She had lived her lifetime in this area and
had been a public school teacher for over thirty five years. Mrs. Hunter attended Bethany Baptist Church.
Surviving are
her husband, Mr. Hansel Hunter, of the home; daughter and son in law,
Elsie
Hunter Deaver and Lester Deaver, of Blairsville; daughter and son in
law, Nema
Hunter Mobley and Darrell Mobley, of Acworth, Georgia; sisters, Lena
Thompson,
of Murphy, NC, and Virginia Titshaw, of Lawrenceville, Georgia;
brothers, Floyd
Little of Murphy and Holland Little, of Fulton, MS; grandchildren: Dawn
Gunter
and Gordon Mobley, of Acworth; great grandchildren: Jana Gunter and
Joshua
Gunter, both of Acworth; several nieces, nephews and friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, March 8, 1996 at 2 p.m.
from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Loys
Waters
and Rev. Brian Souther officiating. Special music was presented by the
Union
County Singers. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Thomas Little, Paul Thompson, Scott Titshaw,
Marlin
Gunter, Gordon Mobley, and Dennis Thompson.

Mr. Dale
R. Davenport, 65, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 8,
1996 at
his home.
Mr.
Davenport was born on August 28, 1930, in Union County,
Georgia, a son of the late E.S. Davenport and Laura Mae Richards
Davenport. He was a U.S. army Veteran of
the Korean War and was a Cattle Farmer.
Mr. Davenport was a member and Past Master of Allegheny Masonic
Lodge
#114, F&AM, and was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving
are son, Doug Beaver, of Gainesville, Georgia,
brothers, Randolph Davenport, of Grayson, Georgia and Ralph Davenport,
of
Blairsville; sister, Leota King, of Blairsville; several nieces and
nephews also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, March 10, 1996 at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of
the
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. B.A. Buchanan and Rev.
Danny
Parris officiating. Special music was
presented by Louise DeLong, Susie Phillips, and Sarah Kelley. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Craig Davenport, Ron Davenport, Dennis Davenport, Mark
Davenport,
Damon davenport, and Danny Davenport.

Mr. Arlie
Lincoln Grizzle, 92, of Suches, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 5,
1996.
Mr.
Grizzle was born in Union County, on January 18, 1904, a
son of the late Francis Eldridge Grizzle and Dolly Thomason Grizzle. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of
Union County. Mr. Grizzle was a member
of Mt. Pleasant #2 Baptist Church in Suches and was also a member of
the Independent
Order of Odd Fellows. His wife, Mrs.
Dicie Payne Grizzle, passed away in 1964.
Surviving
are sons and daughters in law, Fred and Evelyn Grizzle, of Cumming, GA
and
Ronald and Helen Grizzle, also of Cumming; Harve and Betty grizzle, of
Blairsville; daughters and sons in law, Vernelle Nix and Clayton Nix of
Blairsville; and Betty Dayton of Hiawassee, Georgia; brothers, Verlin
Grizzle,
of Kansas City, MO and Arthur Grizzle of Suches, Georgia; sister, Della
Carter
of Suches; fourteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, and
several
nieces and nephews also survive.

Baptist Church with Rev. Willis Garrett and Rev. Joe Hulsey officiating. Special music was presented by the church

Mr. Allen
Wayne Gracey, 40, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March
7, 1006
(sic) in Augusta Regional Medical Center in August (sic), Georgia.
Mr.
Gracey was born in Dade County, Florida, a son of Paul
Gracey and Myra Justine Ford Gracey. He
was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gracey had been living in the Blairsville
area since 1993, coming here from Tampa, Florida and attended the
Blairsville
Church of the Nazarene. He had been a
Florid State Patrolman for 29 years, before retiring to the North
Georgia Mountains. Mr. Gracey was an avid
Harley Davidson
Motorcycle enthusiast.
Surviving
are his wife, Kathy Leonard Gracey of Blairsville; son and
daughter-in-law,
Allen Wayne, Jr. and Tonya Gracey of Nashville, TN; Daughter, Karey Ann
Gracey,
of Tampa; Daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Gracey Parrish and James
Parrish, of
Murphy, NC; two brothers: Gene Gracey of Miami, Florida and Eddie
Gracey of Ft.
Lauderdale, FL; Grandchildren: Justin Tyler Parrish and Erin Nichole
Parrish,
both of Murphy, NC and Katherine Anne Gracey of Nashville.

Lee Peck, 81, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, March 5,
1996 in
St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Peck
was born on November 16, 1914, in Hillsboro County,
Florida, a son of Leslie Peck and Beulah Kennedy Peck.
He moved to the Blairsville area from Val
Rico, Florida. Mr. Peck was a member of
McConnell memorial Baptist Church in Hiawassee.

are his wife, Reta Peck, of Blairsville; daughter and son in law,
Evelyn Laura
and Steve Bennett of Dover, Florida; son and daughter in law, Cecil A.
and Lola

Mrs.
Beatrice
Julia Brooks, 76, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday,
march 9, 1996, following an extended illness.
Mrs.
Brooks was born in Jackson County, North Carolina, a
daughter of the late Charlie Brooks and Lula Cabe Brooks.
She had lived most of her life in Union
County, moving here from Sylva, North Carolina.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville. A son, David Brooks, passed away in 1983, and
Mrs. Brooks’ husband, Everett, passed away in 1991.
Surviving
are son, Phillip Hensley, of Maysville, Georgia; daughters, Martha
Hensley
Raper, and Rebecca Brooks Bryant, both of Blairsville; brothers: Claude
Brooks,
of Bryson City, North Carolina; John Brooks of Pulaski, Virginia; and
Charlie
C. Brooks, of Sylva, NC; sisters, Vila Crawford and Irmagard Smith,
both of
Sylva; grandchildren: Chris and Dawn Hensley of Maysville; Michael and
Julia
Raper, of Blairsville; Jordan Bryant also of Blairsville; and one great
granddaughter, Kaley Morgan Raper, of Blairsville; many nieces, nephews

relatives also survive.

services were held Monday, March 11, 1996 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Danny
Parris
officiating. Special music was presented
by Neal and Patsy Efird, James Hooper, and Terry Hooper.

Middleton, Bruce
Brooks, and Jerry Brooks. Members of the
