MR. frank jones, jr.

 

Mr. Frank Jones, Jr., age 78, of Shaw Road, Blairsville, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2000 at his home following an extended illness.  Mr. Jones was born on January 8, 1922 in Union County, the son of the late Frank Jones, Sr. and the late Birdie Fields Jones.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blairsville and a member of the Washington Masonic Lodge.  Mr. Jones was a Union County native.  He had retired from the Georgia Mountain Experiment Station.

Surviving are his loving wife of fifty three years, Marry Ann Lowe Jones of Blairsville; two daughters and son-in-laws, Patricia Ann and Douglas Thomas of Blairsville, Ayne and Ervin Thomas of Blairsville; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Benjamin William and Wanda Jones of Smyrna, John Franklin and Peggy Jones of Washington, GA; two sisters, Jimmie Nell Calloway of Gastonia, NC, Lavonne Oliver of Lexington, KY; one brother, Woodrow Jones of Willis, TX; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 12, 2000 at 2 pm from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Claude Thomas and Rev. Leon Henderson officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Ronald Jones, Donald Jones, Jason Thomas, Dock Thomas, Terry Jones and Ron Bright.  Interment followed in the Harmony Grove Church Cemetery.  The North Georgia Honor Guard conducted the graveside services.

MRs. margaret evans beale-mccormick

 

Mrs. Margaret Evans Beale-McCormick, age 87, of Blairsville, GA, formerly of Savannah, GA, passed away Monday, March 6, 2000 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. Beale-McCormick was born in Jefferson County, Alabama on Wednesday, November 13, 1912, a daughter of the late LeeRoy Evans and Ethel Allen Evans.  Mrs. Beale-McCormick was manager of Lerner Stores in Savannah for 22 years.  She resided in Savannah during the years of 1925-1977 before retiring and moving to Blairsville.  She had been a member of Alders Gate Methodist Church while in Savannah.  In Blairsville, Mrs. Beale-McCormick was a member of First United Methodist Church of Union County, where she was instrumental in organizing the Christian Women’s club Luncheons, and the AMACS.  She was a member of United Methodist women and was a former secretary for Blairsville chapter of AARP.  Mrs. Beale-McCormick was preceded in death by her first husband, Aldon T. Beale in 1988, daughters, Ethel Beale Lewis in 1971 and Grace Lee Beale Hutson in 1973, and a sister, Grace Sargent in 1997.

Survivors include her husband, Allen H. McCormick of Blairsville; sons, Aldon E. Beale of Knoxville, TN, and David L. Beale of Panama City, FL; daughter, Margaret E. Beard of Blairsville; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 9, 2000 at 2 pm from First United Methodist Church of Union County with Rev. Eddie Herring officiating.  Special music was presented by Ms. Susan Barton.   The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Don Cordier, Henry R. “Hank” Hall, Henry Russell, Ken Mountz, Tom McVey, and Bill Sager.  Interment was in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in  Blairsville.  If you wish, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The United Way.

ms. minnie seabolt

 

Ms. Minnie Seabolt, age 93, of Coopers Creek Road, Suches, Georgia passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2000 at her home following an extended illness.  Ms. Seabolt was born on June 23, 1906 in Union County, the daughter of the late John Seabolt and the late Rebecca Grizzle Seabolt.  Ms. Seabolt was a lifelong resident of Union County and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church #2 in Suches.  She was preceded in death by a son, J.B. Seabolt.

Surviving Ms. Seabolt are two sons, Noah Seabolt of Blairsville, Charles A. Seabolt of Suches, a special granddaughter, Lois Collins of Blairsville, a good friend, pat Ross of Dahlonega, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Friday, march 10, 2000 at 4 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Abernathy and Rev. Willis Garrett officiating.  Special music was presented by Sylvin and Linda Pickelsimer,  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Jamie Gilreath, Michael Seabolt, Bryan Seabolt, Jason Seabolt, Adam Gilreath, Dwayne Moose.  The following gentlemen served as Honorary pallbearers, Kevin Gilreath, Charles Seabolt, Jr., Keith Seabolt, Garth Moose, Stephen Moose, and Curtis Cook.  Interment followed in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches.
