Margaret
Joan Byce, age 53, passed away from
us March 3, 1995, formerly of Atlanta, resident of Blairsville.
Survived by her daughter, Rhonda
Franklin; brother, James Kingston of Atlanta; sister, Rita Kingston of
Ellenwood; granddaughter, Miss Mega Franklin; son-in-law Gerald
Franklin.
Funeral services were held at
Ebenezer Baptist Church on March 5th, 1995,.
Pallbearers were: Steven Poss, Wayne Poss, Brad Barnes, Gary
Fields,
Bill, Vernon Barnes. Re. Guy Wayne Shook
officiated. Piano was by Racheal Barnes
and sons (sic) by Becky Rogers and Jeri King.

Mr.
Albert C. Worden, age 89, of
Blairsville, GA, passed away Thursday, March 9, 1995.
Mr. Worden was born in Kirkland
County, Illinois, on October 21, 1905, a son of the late Charles Worden
and
Pauline Draves Worden. He had lived in
this area since 1968, coming here from Sycamore, Illinois.
Mr. Worden was a member of First United
Methodist Church of Union County, and a former member of the Union
County Lions
Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie
Lou Patton Worden of the home; daughters, Norma Winecka of Chicago, IL,
Shirley
Moore of Rockford, IL, Annie Ballen of Sycamore, IL, Judy Carver of
Talking
Rock, GA, Karen Weaver of Dalton, Ga, (sic) Janet Little of Cumming,
GA, Janie
Collins of Blairsville, GA, and Elaine Bowman of Las Cruses, New
Mexico; sons,
John Worden of Phoenix, AR, (sic) Dewey Lee of Ellijay, GA, Larry Lee
of
Tunnel Hill, GA; Ned Lee of Morganton,
GA, Leslie Lee of Blairsville, GA, and Clyde Lee of Dahlonega, GA;
brother,
Russell Worden of Sycamore, IL; numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren also
survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
March 12, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with
Rev. Jerry
Helton officiating. Special music was
presented by Gloria Griggs. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Charles Worden, C.J. Worden,
Jesse
Miller, Brian Smith, Ray Mullins, and Brian Henderson.
Interment was in Union memory (sic) Gardens
Cemetery.
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville
in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Reba
Beatrice Meers, age 59, of
Blairsville, GA, passed away Friday, march 10, 1995 at her home.
Mrs. Meers was born July 22, 1935
in Fannin County,
Georgia, a daughter of the late Vestal Sisson and Bertie Vandiver
Sisson. She had lived most of her life in
this area
and was a member of Coopers Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Mr.
Clyde Meers of the home; daughters, Sandra White of Atlanta, Barbara
Smith and
Sonya Walter, both of Blairsville, Linda Young of Canton, GA, and Mary
Hicks of
Jasper, GA; sons, Jackie Meers of Canton and Johnny Meers of
Blairsville;
twelve grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
March 12, 1995 at 4:00 p.m. from Coopers Creel Baptist Church with Rev.
Edward
Butler and Rev. Bud Hyde officiating. Special
music was presented by the church choir.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Paul Smith,
Edward Young,
Mack Hicks, Roy Woody, Clyde Payne and Jason Lee. Interment
was in Coopers Creek Cemetery.
