Mr.
William
H. “Billy” Dent, age 64, of 1110 Blue Ridge Hwy. Blairsville, GA,
formerly of
Warner Robins, passed away Monday, March 3, 1997. Mr.
Dent was born in Peach. He was a retired
civil service RAFB and
veteran of the Navy-Korea. He was also a
member of Fort Valley Presbyterian Church.
Survivors
are his wife, Patricia W. Dent of Blairsville; sons, Dr. Jeffrey J.
Dent of
Augusta, William H. Dent, Jr. of Fayetteville, and Joseph W. Dent of
Albany;
brothers and sisters, Gloria Jean Johnson of Byron, Roy Dent of
Powersville,
Annis Champion, Wilder Dent and Pat Tresco of Fort Valley, Bobby Dent
of
Jacksonville, FL., and Edward Dent of Daytona Beach, FL.; and four
grandchildren.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, March 5, 1997.
Rev. Travis Adams officiated. Interment
was in the Oaklawn Cemetery of Fort Valley.

Mr. James
A. “Jim” Brumfield, age 63, of Blairsville, GA., passed away Friday,
March 14, 1997
in Union
General Hospital in Blairsville. Mr. Brumfield was born in Madison
County, Indiana,
on September 12, 1933, a son of the late Paul Emerson Brumfield and
Elizabeth
Louise Tolliver Brumfield. He had lived
in the Blairsville area for the past twenty years, and was a former
resident of
Atlanta. Mr. Brumfield was a member of Faith Baptist
Church and served the community by volunteering at the local family and
children’s services.
Surviving
are his wife, Mrs. Jean ray Brumfield of Blairsville; son and
daughter-in-law,
Robert Paul “Bob” Brumfield and Bet, of Boca Raton, FL.; son, Cecil
James
Brumfield of Blairsville; son, David Jeremy Brumfield of Blairsville;
daughter
and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Smith of Rockhill, S.C.; daughter and
son-in-law, Stave (sic) and Beth Morelly, of Douglasville; daughter,
Shannon
Marie Brumfield of Blairsville; daughter, DeeAnn Brumfield of
Blairsville; daughter,
Mia Catherine Brumfield of Blairsville; heart adopted daughter and
son-in-law,
Diane and Scott Kiker of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Michael Smith,
Athena
Smith, Susan Ayn Brumfield, Maggie and Amy Brumfield, and Clayton Paul
Brumfield.
Funeral services
were held Sunday, March 16, 1997 at 3 p.m. from Faith Baptist Church
with
pastor Jim Brock and associate pastor Tony Abbott officiating. The church choir presented the music. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Gerald Ray, Tim Fletcher, Micah Fletcher, Scott Kiker,
Shannon
Hone, and Jamey Raines. Interment was in Colwell Family
Cemetery. Cochran Funeral Home of
Blairsville in charge of arrangements.
