Mr. Jerry
C. Brooks, 65, of Blairsville,
Georgia, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 1995, in Union General
Hospital in
Blairsville.
Mr. Brooks was born in Hall County,
Georgia, on June 14, 1929. A retired Air
Force Veteran, Mason, Shriner, and a graduate of Mercer University, he
is
survived by his wife of 19 years, Mrs. Andrea Brooks, of Blairsville;
his
father, Mr. Van V. Brooks, of Stockbridge, GA; two sons: Jerrold L.
Brooks, of
Covington, GA, and Kevin R. Brooks, of Marietta, GA; a daughter,
Melanie
Brooks, of Austell, GA; a sister, Jerline Purvis of Decatur, GA; three
grandchildren
also survive.
Jerry will be dearly missed by those
who knew and loved him.
Memorial services were held Saturday,
March 18, 1995 at 2 p.m. from the House of Prayer Church with Pastor
Jerry
Helton officiating.

Denzil B.
Adams, age 66, of Blairsville, Ga.
died Saturday, March 18, 1995. He was
born near Columbus, Ga., December 22, 1928.
He attended the University of Georgia, member Theta Chi
Fraternity. An affiliate member of the
American Society
of Interior Designers. He had worked at
Rich’s, Davison’s: Managed the Baker Furniture Showroom at the Atlanta
Decorative Arts Center, and taught Interior Design at the Art Institute
of
Atlanta. (sic) He held various offices
in Atlanta Audubon Society, friends of Fernbank, and Italian Cultural
Society. Upon retirement he moved
Louisville, Ky, (sic) where he was a docent at the J.B. Speed Museum,
and later
moved to Blairsville.
He was a member St. Clare’s
Episcopal Church where he served as a Lay Reader: a member of the
Church of Our
Savior, Atlanta, where he served as Vestryman, Lay Reader, and Acolyte
Warden
for 35 years; Holy Trinity, Atlanta, and Church of The Advent,
Louisville.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy
Knight Adams, Daughter Elizabeth Taylor of Rohnert Park, CA, and two
grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday,
March 23, 1995, at 3:00 p.m. at the Susan B. Harris Chapel, Young
Harris,
Ga. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to St. Clare’s
Episcopal Church. P.O. Box 1792, Blairsville, Ga. 30512.

Anne Leys
Veldhuis, 90, of Branan Lodge, Blairsville,
Georgia, formerly of Hiawassee, Georgia, passed away March 15th, 1995,
in Boca
Raton, Florida.
Mrs. Veldhuis is survived by her
five children: William R. Veldhuis of Lake Placid, FL; Joanne H. Cripps
of Boca
Raton, FL; Barbara J. Trueblood of Bradenton, FL and Franklin, NC; Gary
B.
Veldhuis of Lake Placid, FL; and Richard J. Veldhuis of Kent, WA.
She is also survived by eleven
grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Veldhuis was a long time member
of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church in Young Harris, Georgia; a
member of
the United Methodist Women, and an active volunteer in her community.
She was pre-deceased by Tonie C.
Veldhuis, her husband of fifty-two years.
There will be a private burial. Memorial
services will be held at Sharp Memorial
United Methodist Church in the Spring – date to be announced.
Memorial contributions may be made
in her name to Branan Lodge.
