Mr. Ralph
E. Drennan, age 85, of Suches, Georgia, passed away Monday, March 16,
1998 at
his home. Mr. Drennan was born in
Fayette County, Georgia on July 14, 1912, a son of the late John
Drennan and
Alice Eason Drennan. He was a veteran of
the U.S. navy and served during World War II. He had live din (sic) Suches for the past 35
years, coming here from Riverdale, Georgia.
Mr. Drennan was a member of Fayette Methodist Church.
Surviving
are his wife, Mrs. Blanche Marie hand Drennan, of Suches; son, Ralph
Ronald
Drennan, of Riverdale, GA.; son, William Russell Drennan, of Elloree,
S.C.;
grandchildren, Ronnie Drennan of East Point, GA., Anne Marie Boone of
Brooks,
GA., Allyson Louise Boyles of Fayetteville, GA., William Russell
“Rusty”
Drennan of McDonough, GA., and Donna Michelle Molton of Fayetteville;
great
grandchildren, Matt Boone and Eric Boone of Brooks, GA. and Beth Molton
of
Fayetteville; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, March 18, 1998 at 11 a.m. from the chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Bud Hyde officiating. Special music was presented by The Sosebee
Family and Zebulon Church Choir. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers:
Leonard Sosebee, Robert Sosebee, Joe Sosebee, Terry Sosebee,
Melvin
Turner, and Lee Yonts. Interment was in
Sugar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs.
Avanelle B. Kneeshaw, age 88, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Monday,
March 9, 1998 in Clay County Care center in Hayesville, North Carolina.
Mrs.
Kneeshaw was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on July 11,
1909, a daughter of the late George E. Blackketter and Desdemonia
Leiper
Blackketter. She was the widow of the
late Ronald S. Kneeshaw, who passed away in 1960. Mrs.
Kneeshaw had lived in this area since
1992, coming here form Bradenton, Florida.
She was a member of West Bradenton Baptist Church in Bradenton,
Florida.
Surviving
are her son and daughter in law, George Stanley Kneeshaw and Sally
Kneeshaw,
both of Blairsville; grandson, Alton S. Kneeshaw, of Plant City,
Florida;
grandson, Gregory S. Kneeshaw, of Flovilla, Georgia; great
granddaughter, Sarah
Ann Kneeshaw, of Plant City; many nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs. Kneeshaw had been preceded in death by
five brothers, one of which was her twin brother.
Funeral
services and burial were held in Bradenton, Florida, with Manasota
Memorial
Park and Funeral Home, there in Bradenton, in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Terry
‘Al’ Aleshire, age 60, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday,
March 21,
1998 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Aleshire had lived in the Blairsville area since 1994,
coming here
from St. Cloud, Minnesota. He was of the
Methodist faith. Mr. Aleshire was a
retired Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Surviving
are his wife, Barbara Aleshire, of Blairsville; mother, Cecile
Aleshire, of St.
Cloud, Minnesota; son, Staff Sgt. Terry Aleshire, of Korea; son, Arthur
Aleshire, of Indiana; daughter, Linda Aleshire, of Michigan; step
daughter,
Lisa Fortenberry, of Blairsville; and step son, Steve McMullen, of lake
Worth,
Florida; brothers: Dwight Aleshire, of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Keith
Aleshire, of
Minneapolis; Arlyn Aleshire, of Texas; sisters: Dariel O’Hara, and
Candy Reid,
both of St. Cloud; and Cheryl Shafter, of Alexandria, Minn; 9
grandchildren also
survive.
Memorial
services will be held at a later date.

Mrs.
Sandra P. Ellis, age 41, of Blairsville, Georgia, formerly of
Waynesville,
N.C., passed away Saturday, March 21, 1998 due to injuries sustained in
an
automobile accident. Mrs. Ellis was a
member of Antioch Baptist Church and had also served as church
secretary for
the past few months. Mrs. Ellis was also
a salesperson for the Tupperware Corporation.
Survivors
include her husband, Dan Ellis of the home; son, Bronson Cook, of
Waynesville,
NC; daughters, Teri, Michela, and Summer Cook, all of Blairsville;
step-sons,
Daniel and Joshua Ellis of Blairsville; parents, Ray and Frances Parto
of Maggie
Valley, N.C.; and sisters, Linda Walton of Gaffney, S.C. and Jennifer
Parton of
Maggie Valley. many
other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at 1 p.m. from Antioch
Baptist
Church with Rev. Harold Sangster officiating.
Special music was presented by the church choir.
Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church
Cemetery.

Mr.
Earley
Eugene Turner, age 88, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Tuesday,
March 17,
1998 following a period of declining health.
Mr. Turner was born in Tryon, NC the son of Joseph H. and Mary
Lankford
Turner. Mr. Turner was a veteran of
World War II.
Surviving
are his son, James A. Turner of Blairsville, Georgia and many friends.
Memorial services
were held Friday, March 20, 1998 at 3 p.m. from the Faith Baptist
Church with
the rev. James Brock officiating.
Interment was in the Ford Memorial Cemetery with honors provided
by the
North Georgia Honor Guard.
The family
requests that donations be made in honor of Mr. Turner, to the American
Legion
Post 121, Blairsville, Georgia.

McMullen, age 78, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Saturday, March
21, 1998 following
an extended illness. Mr. McMullen was
born in Bristol County, MA, the son of George G. and Concord McMullen. Surviving are his wife Barbara McMullen of
Blairsville, Georgia; daughters: Kathleen Ann Prince and Christine
Marie Coats,
both of Miami, Florida; son, George M. McMullen of Gales Ferry, CT;
