mrs. nancy louise mccarter davidson
Mrs.
Nancy Louise McCarter Davidson, 56, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, March 19, 1995 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville
Mrs. Davidson was born in White
County, Georgia, on March 13, 1939, a daughter of the late Roy McCarter
and
Connie Grindle McCarter. She was a
homemaker and had lived most f her life in this area.
Mrs. Davidson was a member of Ebenezer
Baptist Church and of the Blairsville Chapter of the Order of the
Eastern
Star. She was the widow of the late
Frank Davidson, who died in 1991.
Surviving are a son, Franky Davidson
of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and James Dye of
Blairsville;
three sisters, Ruth Mauney and Frances Ownbey, both of Blairsville and
Dorothy
Floyd of Blairsville; a grandson, Adam Dyer; many friends and other
relatives also
survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
March 21, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home
with Rev. Horace
Potts and Rev. Leon Henderson officiating.
Special music was presented by the Faith Singers.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Yonah Chambers, Billy Chambers, Richard Corn, Kaylon
Grubbs, James
Ownbey, and T.A. Floyd. Interment was in
Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.

Ryan Clay King , infant son of Doug
and Jeanette Hughes King of Blairsville, passed away Saturday, March 4,
1995 in
Northside Hospital in Atlanta.
Other than his parents, Ryan is
survived by a brother, Steven King of Blairsville; maternal
grandparents,
Dennis and Dorothy Hughes of Blairsville; paternal grandparents, Buddy
and
Betty King, also of Blairsville; several uncles, aunts, and cousins
also
survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday,
March 7, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev.
Jimmy
Smith officiating. Special music was
presented by the Shook Family. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: John Queen, Wayne Hughes,
Kevin
Hughes, Scott Hughes, and Gary Lee.
Interment was in the church cemetery.

Andrew
Vester Cox, age 92, of Blairsville, GA,
passed away Saturday, March 18, 1995 in Union General Hospital in
Blairsville
Mr. Cox was a native of Alabama, and
a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he achieved the rank of Master
Sargeant
(sic). He was a retired citrus farmer,
and had lived in Vero Beach, Florida for over thirty years before
moving to
Blairsville. Mr. Cox had lived in
Blairsville for nine years. Eh was a
member of Glendale Baptist Church and was predeceased by his wife and
two of
his children.
Surviving are his son and
daughter-in-law, Harry and Mary Cox of Blairsville; eight
grandchildren: Sherry
Thomas, Debbie McNeill, Cindy Cox, Andrew Cox, Mary Dunn, Lee Hutchens,
Kathy
Plumley, and Andy Bell. Eight great
grandchildren: Kristen McNeill, Charity Shepherd, Jonathon Dunn, Joshua
Hutchens, Carrie Hutchens, Logan Plumley, Robert Cox, and Dondi Thomas.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
March 22, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Bill
Gowder officiating. Special music for
the service was presented by Cynthia Duncan.
The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: R.G. Baker, Greg
Deal,
Bob Tilden, and Chuck Plumley. Military
honors with presentation of the American Flag was provided by members
of North
Georgia Honor Guard. Interment was in
Union memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Ruth
Erwin Penland, 78, of Honolulu,
Hawaii, passed away Sunday, march 12, 1995 in Trippler Army Hospital in
Honolulu.
Mrs. Penland was born in Union
County, Georgia, on February 18, 1917, a daughter of the late Joseph
Benjamin
Erwin and Murphy Jane Jones Erwin. She
was a homemaker and was of the Methodist Faith (sic).
Mrs. Penland had lived the past thirty years
in Hawaii.
Surviving are her husband, Madison
T. Penland, of Honolulu; son, Thomas Penland, of Falls Church, VA; Two
(sic)
brothers, Paul Erwin and Houston Erwin, both of Blairsville; Two (sic)
sisters,
Ellen Nix of Blairsville, and Ann Burgess, of Cleveland, Ga; Grandsons,
(sic)
David Penland and T.R. Penland; Several (sic) Nieces (sic) and Nephews
(sic) also
survive.
Funeral services were held Sunday,
March 19, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home

Rev. Burline Thomason and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.

Mr. Bill
Robinson, age 68, of Blairsville, GA,
passed away Tuesday, March 1, 1995 in Union General Hospital in
Blairsville.
Mr. Robins was a native of Wake
County, NC, and was born April 11, 1926 to Hugh Lee Robinson and Louise
Columbus Davis Robinson. He served in
the US Army during World War II. Mr.
Robinson
had lived in this area for the past two years, coming here from Atlanta. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church,
and a member of the Roman Eagle Lodge, F & MA, of Aberdeen, NC.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Jayne
Chambers Robinson, of the home; daughters, Billie Jane Robinson and
Sallie Lynn
Robinson, both of Lilburn, GA; daughter and son-in-law Caroline
Robinson Garcia
and Orlando Garcia, of Dallas, GA; grandsons, Cole, Mitch, and Tony
Garcia. Many friends also survive.
Graveside services were held Thursday,
march 23, 1995, at 2 p.m. from Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with
Rev. Bill
Gowder officiating.

Mr. Frank
J. Morelly, age 82, of
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, March 24, 1995.
Mr. Morelly was born in Southbridge,
Massachusetts the son of George and Emma Marcotte Morelly.
Following his marriage to Marjorie
Temple they lived in the Worcester, Massachusetts area until 1952 at
which time
they moved to Florida where Mr. Morelly was manager of the Avis Car
Rental
Agency in Daytona Beach.
Mr. Morelly was a Charter Member of
the Sunset Lions Club in Daytona Beach and a member of the Methodist
church
(sic). In 1975 Mr. and Mrs. Morelly
moved to Georgia, living in Towns County and then Union County.
Surviving
are his
wife Mrs. Marjorie Morelly of the home, one daughter Mrs. Barbara
McBride of
Tallahassee, Florida; two sons: Mr. Steve Morelly of Douglasville,
Georgia; Mr.
Doug Morelly of Fairfax, Virginia; one brother Mr. Charles Morelly of
Worcester,
Massachusetts; six grandchildren, two granddaughters and a number of
nieces and
nephews. (sic)
Memorial services were held Sunday,
March 26, 1995 at 3:00 p.m. from the First United Methodist Church of
Union
County with the Rev. Robert Darby officiating. Memorials may be made in

Mrs. Mary
M. Hamby, age 83, of Branan Lodge,
Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 1995 in Union
General
Hospital in Blairsville.
Mrs. Hamby was a native of Newton County,
Georgia, and was born February 3, 1912, to Emmett and China Strawn
McCart. She was a member of First United
Methodist
Church of Union County, a member of the American Legion Unit 121
Auxiliary, and
a member of the Blairsville Chapter of Disabled American Veterans
Auxiliary. Surviving are her husband, Mr.
Milford Hamby,
of the home; a brother, Jack McCart, of Alpharetta, Georgia; a sister,
Mrs.
Margaret Steel, of Covington, Georgia; several nieces, nephews and
friends also
survive.
Funeral services were held Saturday,
March 25, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from First United Methodist Church with Dr.
Robert
Darby officiating. Organist Sarah Kelley
presented music for the service. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Johnny Hamby, Dale Hamby,
Glenn
Hamby, Bill Hamby, Ferrell Penland, and Dayton Dyer.
