Mrs.
Myrtice Pyle Paul Ivey, age 93, of
Blairsville,
passed away early Thursday morning, March 29, 2012. Mrs. Ivey had been
a
resident of Union County Nursing Home for the past two years.
Mrs.
Ivey was born on Wednesday, February 5, 1919, in Blakely, GA, a
daughter of the
late Jim Sanders Pyle and the late Sophia Letha Davis Pyle. A graduate
of Early
County, Georgia High School, Mrs. Ivey had been a bookkeeper with J.C.
Penney
and MFM Equipment in Albany, GA. She was a member of Coosa United
Methodist
Church in Blairsville, and, in Blakely, she was a member of Blakely
First Free
Will Baptist Church. Myrtice had lived in
the
Blairsville area for the past 14 years. She was preceded in death by
her first
husband, Andrew Bryant Paul, and second husband, Quentin Q. Ivey.
Family
members include a daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie P. Bishop and Jim
Bishop, of
Blairsville; a sister, LaVern Pyle
Houston; a
sister-in-law, Jeanette Pyle; grandchildren: Kari Walker and Cristi Krauskopf;
great
grandchildren: Samantha and Emily Krauskopf;
Victoria, Andrew, Sarah and Abigail Walker. Many loving nieces and
nephews also
survive.
Funeral
services for Mrs. Ivey have been scheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2012,
at 3
p.m., at First Free Will Baptist Church of Blakely, GA, with Rev. Fred Hursey officiating. The body will lie instate
at the church prior to the service,
beginning at 2
p.m. Burial will be beside her loving husband, Andrew Paul, in Blakely
Cemetery.
If

John
G. Guthrie, age 55, of Billy J Rd., Blairsville went home to be with
the Lord
on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 following an extended illness. John is now
wrapped
in the arms of the Lord. He was born in Atlanta, GA on January 15,
1957. He had
lived here for 26 years. John was a cabinet maker and loved making
fishing
lures. He loved to fish and loved the Mountains. John was a loving
husband, son
and brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Annette White
Guthrie, two
brothers, Adam Guthrie and Boyd Guthrie. John was a member of Victory
Baptist
Church.
Survivors
include his wife Pam Guthrie of Blairsville, father and step-mother,
John and
Marie Guthrie, Sr. of Ball Ground, sisters, Gail and Johnny Thomas of
Garden
City, AL and Susanne and Donald Puckett of Lilburn, brothers, Jay and
Carol
Guthrie of Calhoun and Mitch Guthrie of Blue Ridge, father and
mother-in-law,
Leroy and Sarah Anderson of Blairsville, brother-in-law, Stephen
Anderson of
Blairsville, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Penny and Doug Warren of
Winder,
GA, several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, March 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Mountain
View
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Anderson officiating. Music was
by
Jessica Parker. Pallbearers were Barry Emerine,
Jim Huduk, Johnny Hamler,
Chris
Taylor, Randy Bailey and Martin Olithant.
Interment
was in Victory Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the
funeral
home on Friday, evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

Mrs.
Callie Ozell Jordan, age 89, of Ivy Log
Rd.,
Blairsville, passed away Monday, March 19, 2012 at her home following
an
extended illness. She was born March 3, 1923 in Cobb County, GA to the
late
John Calvin and Mamie Isabel Ledford Hood. She was a life
long resident of Union County. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death
by a
daughter, Barbara Ann Jordan Beasley and her husband, Donal
(sic) Arthur Jordan. She was a member of the Blairsville Seventh Day
Adventist
Church.
Surviving
Mrs. Jordan are four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ronnie C. and
Barbara
Jordan of Blairsville, Arthur Jordan of Blairsville, Donald and Debbie
Jordan
Jr. of Ervin, KY and Tony and Kim Jordan of Blairsville, two sisters,
Margie
Hood Rowell of Blairsville and Susie Mae Henderson of Blairsville, six
grandchildren, Robert Jordan, Regina Jordan, Tonya Jordan, Rachel
Jordan,
Lowell Beasley and Julia Beasley, four great grandchildren, Robert
Curtis
Jordan, Tara Nolte, Ethan Nolte and Keannan
Price,
one great grandchild, Valerie Jordan, several nieces, nephews, many
other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Mountain
View
Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Don Yancheson
and
Pastor Valentin Rusu
officiating. Special music was presented by Barbara Jordan and Wayne
Ryder. The
following gentleman served as pallbearers: Arthur Jordan, Matt Beasley,
Donald
Jordan, Robert Jordan, Sheldon Henderson and Swanson Hood. Interment
was in the
Antioch Baptist Cemetery.
