Mr.
William
Roy McFadden, 85, of Branan Lodge, Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Tuesday,
April 9, 1996 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr.
McFadden was born on May 2, 1910, in Sandusky, Ohio, and
he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II. Mr. McFadden had lived in this area since
1990, coming here from Bowling Green, Ohio.
He was of the Lutheran Faith, and was a member of the Masons in
Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary
“Bonnie” McFadden, of Blairsville;
son, Ernest McFadden of Hartwell, GA, and daughter, Arley Brenneman, of
Covington, Kentucky; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren
also
survive.
Memorial
services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Ray
Stepp, 66, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, April 11,
1996 in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Stepp was born in
Union County, Georgia, on January 27, 1930, a son of the late Paul L.
Stepp and
Evelyn Anderson Stepp. He was a veteran
of the Korean War and served in the U.S. Amy.
Mr. Stepp lived most of his life in the Blairsville area, and
was a
member of Antioch Baptist Church.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Linda Grace Stepp.
Surviving
are his wife, Kathy Dodgen Stepp, of Blairsville; sons, Larry Keith
Stepp, of
Blairsville; and William R. Stepp, Jr., of Hendersonville, NC;
daughters,
Joanne King of Demorest, GA and Marsha King, of Blairsville; sisters:
Grace
Young and Ruby Daniel both of Blairsville; a brother, jack Stepp, of
Odenville,
Alabama; seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, April 13, 1996 at 11 a.m. from the chapel
of the
Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Potts and Rev. Brent Chatham officiating. Special music was presented by Stanley Stepp
and The Pilgrims. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Hubert Owenby, Phil Baxter, Charlie Johnson,
Yeona
Chambers, J.M. Dyer, Otis Young, and Caron Owenby.
Interment was in Antioch Baptist Church
Cemetery.

James
Milo Brown, 89, of Young Harris, Georgia, died Saturday, April 6, 1996
in a
Towns County, GA nursing home.
Mr. Brown
was a native of Union County, GA. He was a
retired farmer and a member of the
Gum Log Baptist Church. He was the son
of the late Milton and Lillie Scroggins Brown.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Glen Brown
and two
sisters, Nellie Brown Gibson and Nova Brown Stephens.
He is
survived by his wife Ruby Pauline Phillips Brown of Chatuge Regional
Nursing
Home, a son and daughter-in-law Ray and Marlene Brown of Morrow, GA, a
granddaughter Paula Ackermann of Orlando, FL and a grandson Alan Brown
of
Atlanta, GA.
Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 8, 1996 in the Townson-Rose
Chapel,
Hayesville, NC. The reverend Willis
Garrett officiated. Burial was in the
Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Union County, Georgia. Pallbearers
were Bryan
and Suell Souther, Vernon and Brad Barnes, Harold Gibson and Ralph
Brown.

Mrs.
Mafuel
Dixon Carroll, 71, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April
10, 1996
in West Paces Ferry Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mrs.
Carroll was born on May 26, 1924, a daughter of the
late Tom Dixon and Annie Shope Dixon.
She was a member of Friendship Baptist church (sic) #3.
Surviving are (sic) her son, Danny
Carroll, of Lawrenceville, GA.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, April 13, 1996 from the chapel of the
Funeral Home
with Rev. Alton Towe, and Rev. Horace Potts officiating.
Special music was presented by the Kelley
Trio and Ken and Elaine Young. The
following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Terry Kuykendall, Billy
Wayne
Chastain, Lawarce Turner, Roland Barnes, Terry Ramsey, Donald Turner,
and Roddy
Turner. Interment was in Pleasant Grove
Baptist church Cemetery.

Mr. J.F.
Rogers, 98, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 12, 1996
in
Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Rogers was born in
Union County, Georgia, on May 14, 1897, a son of the late Joseph Rogers
and
Mary King rogers (sic).
He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church,
and a lifelong resident of Union County.
Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Ellijay Rogers; three sons, Max Rogers, of East
Point,
Michigan, Keith Rogers of St. Claire Shores, Michigan, and Rex Rogers
of
Blairsville, GA; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren
also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, April 14, 1996 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of
the
funeral home with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special
music was presented by the Troy
Phillips family. Grandsons served as
pallbearers. Interment was in Mt. Zion
Baptist Church
Cemetery.
