Chanda
Young Ivey, age 36, of Blairsville, GA, passed away suddenly on Monday,
April
9, 2012, in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.
Chanda
was
born in Blairsville on April 18, 1975, and was a lifelong resident of
Blairsville. She graduated from Union County High School in 1993, and
was a
member of Union Baptist Church (Hood's Chapel) in Blairsville. Chanda's
paternal grandparents and maternal grandparents preceded her in death:
Dewey and
Donnie Young and Creed and Edna McConnell. Chanda will be remembered
for her
beautiful smile and her love of life.
Chanda
was
dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her -
especially her
loving family members: mother and step-father, Carol and Royce Dyer of
Blairsville; father, Curtis Young, of Blairsville; children, Dalton
Chase
Palmer of Blairsville; Mary Caroline Ivey, of Young Harris, GA;
brother, Cody
Young, of Blairsville; step-brother, Scott Dyer, of Hiawassee; niece,
Baylee
Young; step-niece, Savana Dyer; step-nephew, Tristin Dyer; uncles,
aunts,
cousins, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Benny Nix officiating.
Special
music was presented by Mrs. Janie Rowan. Visitation was held at the
funeral
home on Thursday evening, with the family especially meeting with
friends from
6 until 9 p.m. If you wish to do so, memorial contributions may be made
to the
charity of your choice, to honor Chanda's
life.

Mr.
Herbert C. Everett, age 77 of Blairsville passed away Friday, April 13,
2012 at
Union General Hospital in Blairsville, GA.
Mr.
Everett was born in Blairsville on Monday, December 24, 1934 to the
late Erwin
& the late Hattie Everett. He was a man of strong Christian faith
and a
member of Youngstown Baptist Church for over 25 years. He loved
spending time
with his family and enjoyed fishing and watching an Atlanta Braves game
or a
good race. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd
Everett; and
sisters, Ervelene Hedden and Roberta Drake.
He
will be fondly remembered by all who knew him, but especially missed by
his
family: daughter, Pauline Everett of Blairsville; sons, Herb Everett of
Blairsville,
David Everett of Douglasville, GA, Doug Everett of Lithia Springs, GA;
son
& daughter-in-law, John & Rhonda Everett of Dallas, GA;
brothers,
Edward & McArthur Everett; grandchildren: Chad, Chris, Becky,
Justin, and
Tori Everett and Rachel Coats. Five great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2012 from the Chapel
of
Cochran Funeral Home in Blairsville with Rev. Ned Wilcoxon and Rev.
Jonathon
Hood officiating. Special music was provided by Kelley Brewer &
Rhonda
Hood. The Deacons of Youngstown Baptist Church were asked to serve as
pallbearers. Interment followed at Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery. The
family
received friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m.
The
family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the
American
Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs.
Delores Madelyn Hobilt, age 85, of Wesley Mtn. Drive, Blairsville
passed away
Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Fannin Regional Hospital. She was born
October 18,
1926 in Toledo, OH to the late Georgia and Cecelia Heinze Sodd. She
moved here
in 2005 from St. Petersburg, FL. Mrs. Hoblit was a graduate of Life
Chiropractic College, Amvets volunteer in
FL, a
volunteer at Branan Lodge. She was a loving mother, grandmother and
great
grandmother. Mrs. Hoblit was preceded in death by a son, George Hoblit
in 2012.
She was of the Protestant Faith.
Survivors
include children, John & Jackie Hoblit of St. Petersburg, FL, Mike
and
Cathie Hoblit of Morganton, GA and Steve Hoblit of McBain, MI,
brothers, Bob
and Joyce Sodd of Toledo, OH and Jim and Shirley Sodd of Toledo, OH,
six
grandchildren, four great grandchildren and other family members also
survive.
No
services are planned at this time.

Mrs.
Annie Lucille White, age 66 of Blairsville, passed away April 12, 2012
at
Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Annie was born July 27,
1945 in
Kingston, TN. A member of Star Creek Baptist Church in Morganton, she
was
preceded in death by mother, Frances Jackson and husband James A.
White. She
was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors
include: daughter, Veatrice Lee, daughter, Tywana Kendall, son, James
David
White, son, Michael Lee White, sister, Devone Jones, sister, Barbara
Rattcliff,
sister, Junnie (Don) Downey, brother, Earl Davis, grandchildren, Lisa
&
Ricky Williams, Heather Anderson, Chris Anderson, Dillon Shubert,
Jennifer
& Jason Rogers, Michelle White, Matthew White, Dylan White, and
Ashley
Kendall, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews.
Funeral
services were held Monday, April 16, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the
Henry-Cochran
Funeral Home with the Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Music was provided
by
Robert Buchanan. Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church
Cemetery. The gentlemen serving as pallbearers were Jason Rogers, Ricky
Williams, Greg Cutchins, David Baldwin, Dillon Anderson, and John
Powell.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason Lee, Matthew White, and Chris Anderson.
The
family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home, Saturday,
April 14,
2012 from 3 p.m. - 9 p.m. & Sunday, April 15, 2012 from 9 a.m. - 9
p.m.
