Miss Jennifer Lynn Holbrooks, infant
daughter of Lynn and Pam Butt Holbrooks of Blairsville, passed away
Friday,
April 7, 1995 in Lumpkin County, GA.
Other than her parents, Little
Jennifer is survived by paternal grandmother, Hazel Holbrooks of
Blairsville;
maternal grandparents, Garner and Barbara Butt of Blairsville; maternal
great
grandmother Polly Henson, also of Blairsville; and paternal great
grandparents,
Ben and Maude Thomas of Blairsville.
Graveside services were held Wednesday,
April 12, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from Jones Cemetery in Blairsville with the
Rev. Waymon
Lovell officiating.

Mr.
Nevert M. Berrong, age 74, of
Blairsville, GA passed away Tuesday, April 11, 1995 following a period
of
declining health. Mr. Berrong was born
in Towns County but had made his home in Union County for a number of
years. He was a veteran and retired
construction worker.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Robbie
Berrong of the home; one son, Mr. Nevert Berrong, Jr. of Hiawassee, GA;
five
daughters, Mrs. Polly Cothern of Blairsville, GA, Mrs. Patsy King of
Blairsville,
GA, Mrs. Peggy Giles of Hiawassee, GA, Mrs. Pam Shook of Young Harris,
GA, Mrs.
Phyllis Prince of Blairsville, GA; 17 grandchildren and 5 great
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday,
April 12, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Jarvis
Bennett, Rev. Roscoe Spivey and Rev. Ricky Burrell officiating. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery with
military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
Pallbearers were grandsons. Banister

charge of arrangements.

Paul Lee
died at his home in Kenansville, NC
on April 6, 1995. He was a World War II
Veteran serving in over-sea combat from 1942-1945.
he had full military rites at his funeral
after a long illness from cancer. He
lived in Blairsville for many years before making his home in NC.
Survivors are his wife, Catherine
Moore Lee of the home; son, Terry Lee of Orlando, FL; daughters, Paul
Lewis
(sic) of Raleigh, Gloria Bell of Virginia, Lynn Simmons and Cathy
Sloan, both
of Warsaw, and Kandy Lee of Kenansville; brothers, Arlon John Lee of
Blairsville, Garland Lee of Acworth, and Presley Lee of Gainesville;
sisters,
Wilma Stone of Lake Alfred, FL; 14 grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on
Sunday, April 9, 1995 at Warsaw 1st Original Free Will Baptist Church. Officiating were Rev. A.B. Bryan and Rev.
John A. Johnson. Burial was in
Devotional Gardens, Warsaw, NC.
Pallbearers were Tim Phelps, Alan Benson, Larry Benson, Lester
Anderson,
Donnie Garner, Hurbert Pope.

mr. william e. “little ed” dyer
Mr.
William E. “Little Ed’ Dyer, age 100, of
Blairsville passed away Friday, April 14.
Mr. Dyer was a lifelong resident of
Union County, a member of the Choestoe Baptist Church, a Veteran of
WWI, a
member of Allegehny (sic) #114 F&AM for over 75 years, a Deacon of
Choestoe
Baptist Church for almost 80 years. He
was preceded in death by his wife, Bertha Hood Dyer.
Survivors include two sons, and
daughters-in-law, James Perry and Betty Dyer of Blairsville; and
William Harold
and Delores Dyer of Blairsville; daughters and sons-in-law; Anna Mae
and T. B. Burnette
of Suches; Lois and Homer Allen of Lithonia; Genelle and C. D. Burns of
Blairsville; daughters, Wilma Shuler of Decatur and Sarah Ruth Payne of
Cleveland; two sisters, Mary Smith and Nellie Dyer both of Blairsville;

grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren
also
survive.
Funeral services were held Monday,
April 17, 1995 at 11:00 a.m. from the Choestoe Baptist Church with Rev.
James
Geer and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Music
was by Jo Mosley; grandsons served as pallbearers.
Interment followed in the Church
Cemetery. The family request in lieu of
flowers that donations be made to the Choestoe Baptist Church or the
Choestoe
Cemetery.

Mr.
Harold Jones, age 75, of Blairsville
passed away Saturday, April 15 at his home.
Mr. Jones was the son of the late
Homer Jones and Nellie Conner Jones of the Union County Nursing Home. He was preceded in death by one brother,
Cleve Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Mary
Fuller Jones of the home; step-daughter, Phyllis Bowen of St. Simons
Island,
Georgia; one brother, Elmo Jones; one sister, Reva Mae Patterson of
Blairsville; one step-granddaughter, Meredith Dury of St. Simons
Island,
Georgia; and many of other friends and relatives also survive.
Graveside services were held Monday,
April 17, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. from the Duncan Cemetery with pastor Ervin
Wells officiating. Music was by Homer
Payne. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Rick Grube, Charlie Kimbro, Julian Mason, Houston Flowers,
Leslie
Pendleton and David Fuller.
