charles james “charlie” donnelly
Mr. Charles James “Charlie” Donnelly, age 79, of Blairsville, GA, passed away
Monday, April 12, 2004, in Union General Hospital.
Mr. Donnelly was born, Monday, July 21, 1924, in Fulton County, GA a son of
the late Paschal James and June (Hollis) Donnelly. He was a retired
Railroad Carman. Mr. Donnelly moved to Blairsville in 1987 from
Surviving are his wife, Bonnie B. Donnelly of the home; son, Dane Donnelly
of Great Falls, MT, son, Mark K. Donnelly of Blairsville, GA, son and daughter-in-law,
Timothy M. and Paula Donnelly of Senoia, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie
and Larry Garrett of Blairsville, GA and son Andrew S. Donnelly of Blairsville,
GA; six grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis
of Assisi Catholic Church. Pallbearers were the Knights of Columbus.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if you wish, memorial contributions
could be made to The Cancer Treatment Center,
The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 until
9 p.m.
Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville was entrusted by the family for the arrangements.

gary lee vallies
Mr. Gary Lee Vallies, age 41, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Sunday,
April 11, 2004 at his home.
Mr. Vallies was born in
Surviving is his wife, Patricia, of their home; parents, Leo and Lois Vallies,
of Hiawassee, Georgia; children, Rachel Renee Vallies, Lee Vallies and Bobbie
Sue Vallies, all of Blairsville; a grandson, Stephen Allen Vallies, of Blairsville;
two sisters, Patricia Heilman, of Hiawassee and Cindy Buchanan, of Blairsville;
a niece, Tiffany Nicole Cox, of Ashland, Virginia; many other relatives and
friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 15, 2004 at

john beach shinn III
Mr. John Beach Shinn, III, age 64 of Allison Loop in Blairsville, formerly
of Columbia, S.C., passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2004 at his home following
an extended illness. Mr. Shinn was born on May 27, 1939 in
Johnny enjoyed the simple life. His passion was the outdoors, working
as a handy man and playing golf with his friends. He was filled with
humility, always putting others first and he gave everything of his being
to his family and friends. He epitomized Jesus’ teaching from the Sermon
on the Mount, “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the
Surviving Mr. Shinn is a daughter and son-in-law, Darby and Paul Reeves of
Lexington, S.C; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Monica Shinn of Myrtle
Beach, S.C; a sister, Anne Shinn of Lexington; a sister and brother-in-law,
Margaret and Marc Luke of Matthews, NC; five grandchildren, Brooks, Morgan,
Luke, Lee and Merritt; and many relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 15, 2004 at 4:00 pm from the
home. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials
may be made to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Shinn’s memory.

irene blankenship padgett
Mrs. Irene Blankenship Padgett, age 83, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Sunday,
April 18, 2004, at her residence.
Mrs. Padgett was born in
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Earl Thompson of Blairsville;
daughter and son-in-law, Gayle and James Johnson, of Jasper, Georgia; son
and daughter-in-law, Raynard and Karen Padgett of Hayesville, North Carolina;
two brothers: Daris and Darrell Blankenship, both of Ponce De Leon, Florida;
Sixteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews,
and many friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2004, at 11:00 a.m., at North
Mt. Zion Church of God, with Rev. Raburne Wilson and Rev. Clint Claypoole
officiating. Mrs. Padgett will be eulogized by Mr. Jim Johnson.
Visitation at the funeral home will be on Monday evening, from 6 until 9 p.m.

truett harold eller
Truett Harold Eller, age 71, of Blairsville, Georgia passed away Thursday,
April 15, 2004 at Lanier Park Hospital in Gainesville, GA.
Mr. Eller was a native of Fannin County, GA and the son of the late J.R. and
Ester Ledford Eller. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during
the Korean Conflict. He was a self employed accountant. Mr. Eller
was of the Baptist faith and attended Day of Grace Baptist Church in
Mr. Eller was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Stiles Eller who
died in August of 1996.
He is survived by two sons, Keith Eller and his wife Brenda of Bean Station,
TN, Dough Eller and wife Michelle of Powder Springs, GA; a daughter, Scharme
Clower and her husband Greg of Kennesaw, GA; two sisters, Myrle Sprinkles
of Center, GA and Flo Carter of
Funeral Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Townson Rose
Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy, NC. The Rev. Jeremy Henderson will officiate.
