Mrs.
Kathy Ann Stephens age 61 of Twiggs R., Blairsville formerly of Greer,
SC,
passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 in the Union General Hospital
in
Blairsville following an extended illness.
Mrs. Stephens was born on July 9, 1947 in Knoxville, TN the
daughter of
the late Erastus Davis and the late Evelyn Waugh. She
was a loving wife, mother, grandmother
and great grandmother. Mrs. Stephens was
a member of Spring Well Baptist Church.
Mrs.
Stephens is survived by her loving husband of
thirty-seven years, James Stephens of Blairsville, two daughters,
Stephanie
Stephens of Fayetteville, Stacie Stephens of Greer, SC, one step-son,
Daniel
Walcott of Nashville, TN, one brother, Daniel Davis of Deerlodge, TN,
niece,
Dana Shelton, one nephew, Daniel Davis II both of Knoxville, TN,
mother-in-law,
Lorraine Twiggs of oak Ridge, TN, two grandchildren, Eunique Stephens
Lomax and
A’sahi Stephens Lomax, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A memorial
service will be held at a later date. In
lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be
made to
Choestoe Baptist Church in memory of Mrs. Stephens.

Miss
Virgie Lee Swain, age71, (62) of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Wednesday,
April 15, 2009 at Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville. Virgie was born Saturday, October 23, 1937 in
Union County, Georgia, to the late Clyde Swain and the late Ila Nix
Fenton. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Hancock and a brother, James
Swain.
Surviving
family members include: sister and brother-in-law, Dot and Ray Payne of
Blairsville; sisters, Betty Andrews of Blairsville; and Martha Swain of
Cleveland, Georgia; nieces: Elizabeth Hooper, Alana Swain, Reagan
Hooper, Gwen
Hooper, and McKenzie Hooper; nephews: Greg Payne, Robert Rogers and
David
Hancock.
Funeral
services were held Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2 PM from Cochran
Funeral Home
Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.
Music was provided by Freddie Burrell.
Interment followed in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family
received friends at the funeral home from 10 AM – 2 PM, Thursday, April
16.

Mrs.
Mary Lillian Bourbeau age 85 of Hidden Pine Trail, Blairsville formerly
of
Randolph, MA passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 following an
extended illness. Mrs. Bourbeau was born
on May 4, 1923 in
Ludlow, MA the daughter of the late Stephen Bourdon
and the late Helena Lavoi Bourdon.
Mary’s hobbies were knitting, gardening and walking.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother,
great and also great-great grandmother. Mrs.
Bourbeau was a member of St. Bernadette
Catholic Church.
Surviving Mrs.
Bourbeau are her loving husband of sixty-six years, Francis James
Bourbeau of
Blairsville, three sons and daughters-in-laws, Francis and Lucille
Bourbeau of
Midway, MA, Norman and Hellen Bourbeau of Blairsville, Stephen and
Johnnie
Bourbeau of palmetto, FL, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Barbara
Duddy of
Shetz, TX, Shirley and Al Hutching of San Antonio, TX, seven
grandchildren,
Michael and Kim Bourbeau, Lisa Bourbeau, Paul and Brandy Bourbeau,
Michele and
Jim Runyan, Brien, James and Alicia Bourbeau, six great grandchildren,
one
great grandchild, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Friday, April 17, 2009 at 3 p.m. from the
Mountain View
Chapel with deacon Paul Dietz officiating. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests
that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in memory of
Mrs.
Bourbeau. The family met with friends at
the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m.
