mrs. jessie rabun gregory

 

Mrs. Jessie Rabun Gregory, age 74, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2000.  She was born in Union county, Georgia.  Mrs. Gregory has been a resident of Marietta for the past fifty-three years.  She was a member of Fair Oaks Methodist Church and she was also a member of the 50th Anniversary Club at Fair Oaks Methodist Church.   Mrs. Gregory was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth R. Gregory.

Surviving Mrs. Gregory is her husband, Will Gregory, of Marietta, Georgia; daughter, Glenda Wood, of Marietta, Georgia; son, Roger Gregory, of Marietta; sister, Ruth Moss, of Ball Ground, Georgia; grandchildren, Jacob Gregory of Marietta, Todd Greene, of Marietta, Donna Stephens, of Marietta, Debbie Golden, of Hiram, Amanda Meaders, of Jasper.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Wednesday in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with the Reverends Hoyt Allen, Steven Hamby and James Sanders officiating.  Burial was in the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Carmichael Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of arrangements.

MR. john f. kittle

 

Mr. John F. Kittle, age 79, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2000 in the Union General Hospital following an extended illness.  Mr. Kittle was born on June 25, 1920 in Gadsen, AL., the son of the late Allie G. Kittle and the late Ector Owens Kittle.  He was an Army-Airforce Veteran with the Paratrooper 82 Airborne Division, a member of the Palm Beach Co. Sheriffs Aux., the Civil Air patrol, the Roofers and Sheet Metal Association, a race car driver and an avid race fan.  Mr. Kittle was a member of the House of Prayer.

Surviving Mr. Kittle are his loving wife of fifty-six years, Vivian Schafer Kittle, of Blairsville; two daughters and son in laws, Carol and Albert Martin, of Blairsville, Connie and Stanley Richardson, of Blairsville; four sisters, Lou Ostrom, of Cleveland, OH., Irene Draper, of Cleveland, Marie Lowery, of CA., Betty Costin, of Tallahassee, FL.; two brothers, Ray Kittle, of Avon, OH., Allie Kittle, Jr., of Williston, FL., eight grandchildren, Kim and Joe Southern, Tawana and Wayne Arron, Suzan and Tim Sanford, Kristy Staines Jones, Tina Richardson, John and Felicity Martin, Nannie Loner, Lesa and Daniel Byrd; seventeen great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. 

Services were held on Wednesday, April 19 at 2 p.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  Special music was presented by Herb and June Grounds.  Interment followed in the Kittle family cemetery.

MR. j.t. collins

 

Mr. J.T. Collins, age 75, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Friday, April 21, 2000 in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mr. Collins was born in Union County, Georgia, on Saturday, June 14, 1924 a son of the late Ed Collins and Ordie Souther Collins.  He was a lifelong resident of this area and was a farmer.  Mr. Collins was a member of New Liberty Baptist Church.  He had been preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Della Gibson Collins, who passed away in 1995.

Survivors include: daughter and son-in-law, Eulane and Clint McCollum, of Gillsville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Joan Collins of Blairsville; daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Jack Reis, of Savannah, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Trina Collins of Blairsville; brother, L.B. Collins and sister, Clara Duckworth, both of Blairsville; two grandchildren, and one great grandchild also survive.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 22, 2000 at 2 pm from Trackrock Baptist Church with Rev. Wade Plott officiating.  Special music was presented by The Trackrock Singers.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Frank Collins, Leon Collins, Larry Collins, Ralph Collins, Raymond Dover, and Royce Collins.  Interment was in the church cemetery.
