Mr.
Roy A. Caldwell, age 77, of Blairsville, GA, passed away Wednesday,
April 23,
2008 at Union General Hospital in Blairsville.
Mr. Caldwell was born Saturday, May 3, 1930 in Fayette County,
WV to the
late Shirley Caldwell and the late Cecil May Lacy Caldwell. Roy was a member of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, and of The Homebuilders Sunday
School Class; a
member of The Beacon Mission Team of First Baptist Church of
Blairsville; and a
former Lions Club member in Ravenwood, WV.
Roy moved to Blairsville from Deltona, FL, in 2001.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith,
in 1995; and a brother, Arley Caldwell.
Surviving family
members include his wife, June, of Blairsville; daughter, Joanna
Lowers, of
Washington, WV; son, Glenn Caldwell, of Kingston, OH; three step-sons:
Jeffrey Sorensen,
of Deltona, FL; Jonathan Sorensen and Jason Sorensen, both of Orlando,
FL; sister, Sylvia McDowell, of St. Albans,
WV; 7 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild also survive,
along with
many nieces and nephews.
Memorial
services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25,
2008, from the First Baptist Church of Blairsville with the Dr. Fred
Lodge officiating. Music was provided by
Minister R. Terry
Hooper. The family received friends at
First Baptist Church for one hour before the service.

Mrs.
Willie Mae Richardson, age 90, of Burnette Rd., Blairsville formerly of
Marietta passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2008 in the Union County
Nursing Home
following an extended illness. Mrs.
Richardson was born on May 19, 1917 in Fannin County, the daughter of
the late
Ed Turner and the late Dessie Seabolt Turner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Richardson in 1985
and
also by her first husband, J.D. Blackman in 1970; a brother, Bob Turner
and a
son-in-law, Eugene Burnette. Mrs.
Richarson was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Marietta.
Surviving Mrs.
Richardson are one daughter, Wanda Burnette of Blairsville; two sons
and
daughters-in-law, Dewie and Eline Blackman of Temple, GA, Vinson and
Linda
Blackman of Paulding Co, GA; one sister and brother-in-law, Juanita and
Loy
Wofford of Acworth, GA; three sisters-in-law, Virginia Turner, Thelma
Turner
and Jaunita Turner; seven grandchildren, Vickie Swafford, Sandra Coo,
Scott,
Keith, Danny and Jimmy Blackman and Cheryl Lynne Alford; fourteen
great-grandchildren; eight-great-great grandchildren; many other
relatives and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 2
p.m. form the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Chad Underwood
officiating. Special music was presented
by Becky Rogers
and Dana Nelson. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Scott
Blackman,
Steve Turner, Kelvin Blackman, Steve Turner, Gary
Wallace. Interment and graveside
services followed on Thursday at 12 p.m. from the Shady Grove Baptist
Church
Cemetery in Marietta. The body lay in
state at the church from 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
The family met with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday
evening after
6 p.m.

robert “bob” h. ackinclose, jr.
Mr.
Robert “Bob” H. Ackinclose, Jr., a longtime resident of Palm Beach
County, FL,
passed away on April 22, 2008 in Blairsville, GA after a short illness. He was owner of master’s Electric in
Blairsville. Bob was born in Pittsburg,
PA on April 22, 1942 and moved to Palm Beach County in 1955 with his
parents,
Claire and Robert Ackinclose, Sr. He
attended local schools and graduated from palm beach High in 1960. HE won a football scholarship to Florida
State University and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He will be remembered as a long time member
of IBEW Local 323 and was involved in the electrical business for many
years
before moving to Blairsville six years ago and starting his own
business.
He is
survived by his children, Leigh Meneses of Jefferson, GA, Benjamin
Ackinclose
of Jefferson and Robert Ackinclose of Braselton, GA; sister, Patricia
Farrell
of palm Beach Gardens; niece, Kelly Farrell; nephew, Kip Farrell. He leaves behind nine precious grandchildren,
Alec, Arynn, Alyssa, Manny, Lorena, Casey, Mallory, Cameron and Caitie.
A
Celebration of Life service will be held at a later
date. In lieu of flowers, if you wish,
the family requests that memorials may be made to your favorite charity
in memory
of Mr. Ackinclose.

Mrs.
Evelyn Carol Carmean, age 53, of High Meadows Rd., Blairsville, passed
away on
Monday, April 21, 2008 in Missions Hospital in Asheville
following a brief illness. Mrs.
Carmean was born on September 6, 1954 in
Flint, MI, the daughter of Dillard Owenby and Rosa Lee Nix Owenby. She was preceded in death by a brother Larry
Owenby. Mrs. Carmean attended Fairview
Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs.
Carmean are her loving husband of twenty-eight years, Carl Carmean of
Blairsville; seven children, Carl and Tabatha Carmean of Henderson, TN,
Carla
and Herman Walters of Flint, MI, Christy and Tracy Owenby, Casey and
Ashleigh
Carmean, Chrisandra and Nick Harrington, Carrie Carmean and Chad
Carmean all of
Henderson, TN; one sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Danny Slater
of
Millington, MI; one brother, Rick Owenby of Flint, I; eleven
grandchildren,
Craig, Brandon, Kelsey, Noah and Caleb Carmean, Jessica and Justin
Walters,
Nichole and Damian Blackwell, Lucas and T.J. Harrington; many other
relatives
and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 11
.m. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Special music was presented by Tommy
Holbrooks. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers, Nick McGahey, Tracy Blackwell, Basil Ford, Craig
and
Brandon Carmean, Lucas Harrington and Justin Walters.
Interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist
Church Cemetery.

Mrs.
Thelma Mae Mitchell Beavers, age 77, of Piedmont, AL, formerly of the
Atlanta
area, passed away Friday, April 25, 2008.
Mrs. Beavers was born in Union County, GA on Thursday, July 24,
1930, a
daughter of the late Clarence Mitchell and May Young Mitchell. She was a registered nurse and a member of
Liberty Baptist Church in Blairsville.. Mrs. Beavers’ husband, Tasker William
Beavers, passed away in 2002.
Surviving family
members include son and daughter-in-law, Don and Laverne Beavers, of
Piedmont,
AL; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Clifford Dykman, of Ocala, FL;
daughter, Linda Mitchell, of Piedmont; and daughter and son-in-law,
Sherry and
Jeremiah Tarle, of Roaring Springs, TX; and daughter, Tracie Harris, of
Roaring
Springs, TX; two sisters, Frankie Mae Phillips of Union City, GA, and
Janie
Folsom, of Tampa, FL; two brothers: Franklin Mitchell, of Carrollton,
GA, and
James Mitchell, of Villa Rica, GA; two grandchildren: Tonya Lan of
Hiram, GA,
and Eric beavers, of Centre, AL; 7 great-grandchildren: Aaron, Jason,
and
Robert Deas; Krystal Sanders, Ashlyn Beavers, and Monique Beavers. many other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Monday, April 28, 2008, at 11:30
a.m., at Cochran Funeral Home-Blairsville Chapel, with Rev. Allen
Clayton and
Rev. Brent Chatham officiating. Special
music was presented by Mrs. Laverne Beavers, Mrs. Beavers’
daughter-in-law. The following gentlemen
served as pallbearers: Aaron Deas, Robert Deas, Jason Deas, Eric
Beavers,
Jeremiah Tagle, and Buddy Hedgecock.
Burial was in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville. The family met with friends on Sunday, from 1
p.m. until 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
