Miss
Maybelle Hill, 92, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Monday, April
22, 1996
in Union County Nursing Home in Blairsville.
Miss Hill
was born in Union County, Georgia, on August 28,
1903, a daughter of the late Charlie Hill and Augusta Owenby Hi.. She was a
lifelong
resident of this area and had taught for many years in the Union County
School
System. Miss Hill was a member of
Antioch Baptist Church.
Surviving
are a sister-in-aw, Marie Hill, of Blairsville; niece, Jimmie Hill of
Atlanta;
nephews, Charles Hill and Cecil Lance of Blairsville; Bob Hill of
Nashville;
Clyde Wayne “Bud” Hill, Jr., of Cleveland, TN; Julian “Bo” Hill, of
Chattanooga, TN; and Gary Hill of Griffin, GA.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, April 24, 1996 at 11 a.m. from Antioch
Baptist
Church with Reverend Bill Gowder officiating.
Miss Hill was eulogized by nephew Gary Hill.
Special music was presented for the service
by Jerry Hemphill, Patsy Davenport, and Debbie Owenby.
The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Cecil Lance, Charles Hill, Scott Lance, Bud Hill, Bob
Hill, and
Elliott Hill. Interment was in the
church cemetery.
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville was in
charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Jack
R. Gans, age 81, formerly of West Palm Beach, FL and Blairsville, GA,
passed
away April 12, 1996.
Mr. Gans is survived by
his three daughters, Mary Hoefs of Blairsville, GA; Lynette Moffit of
North
Palm Beach, FL; and Jacqueline Adams of Los Angeles, CA; eight
grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside
services were held at Hillcrest Memorial Park, WPB conducted by Elder
Quinton
Burks. Dorsey Funeral Home, Lake Worth,
was in charge of arrangements.

Dollie
Lenore Gibson Rowland, age 83, of Route 1, Hayesville, NC died April
27, 1996
in a Towns County Georgia Hospital.
She was a
native of Union County, Georgia. She was a
homemaker and attended South
Hayesville Church of God. She was the
son (sic) of the late Solomon Westley and Ollie McClure Gibson. She was preceded in death by a brother, J.W.
Gibson and two sisters, Fannie Green and Pauline Cooper.
She is
survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Vierce Lincoln Rowland; a
son and
daughter in law, Steve and Joyce Roland, of Hayesville NC; five
daughters and
sons in law, Freddie and Loman Cothern of Cathlamet, WA, Christine and
Melvin
Fisher of Canton, OH, Ethel and Garland Mull of Hayesville, NC, Ellen
and
Ronnie Ledford of Marshall, NC, and Mildred and Michael Rogers, of
Hiawassee,
GA; one brother, Clyde Gibson of Young Harris, GA; two sisters, Irene
Towery of
East Canton, OH, and Ruby Shook, of Blairsville, GA; sixteen
grandchildren and
twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral
services will be held Tuesday, April 30, 1996 at 2 p.m. in the Townson
Rose
Chapel in Hayesville, NC. The Rev.
Jimmie Waddell and Rev. Lloyd Ledford will officiate.
Burial will be in the Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers
will be Jeff Rowland,
Curtis Stphens (sic) Marvin Mull, Charles (Red) Bradley, Edward Stamey,
Mark
Shook and Michael Ledford.

flowers memorials may be made to Mountain home Nursing Service, P.O.
Box 1309,
Hayesville, NC 28904.
