Mr.
Peter James Busteed, age 65, of Nottely
River Ridge, Blairsville passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Union
General
Hospital. He was born April 29, 1946 in Everett, MA to the late Rose Bagarella. Mr. Busteed
moved here
14 years ago from Stuart, FL. He was retired U S Army 101st Airborne
Division,
and was a decorated Vietnam veteran. He was a member of the DAV and
VFW. Mr. Busteed loved his dogs, traveling
and helping other Vets.
He was owner of Advanced Cleaning and Maintenance in Stuart, FL. Mr. Busteed was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors
include his loving wife of twenty-three years, Sherry Busteed
of Blairsville, GA, two daughters and sons-in-law, Alicia and Rhett
Nelson of
Stuart, FL and Amy and John Amico of
Hayesville, NC,
sister, Gina Cavallaro, Frank and Victoria
of Pompano
Beach, FL, brother, Gus Simonelli of
Stuart, FL,
friend and brother-in-law, Edwin (Buck) Puett,
Jr. of
Akron, OH, grandchildren, Noah, Madilyn,
Melina,
Olivia and John, all of his beloved brothers in arms and lifelong
friends.
Military
Honors and interment will be conducted at Arlington National Cemetery
at a
later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers make memorial to
Regency
Hospice in Hiawassee, GA or Union County Humane Society Mountain
Shelter or to
the DAV.

Mr.
Gerald Leroy Hinnenkamp, age 69, of Dalewood Dr., Blairsville passed away Monday,
April 23,
2012 at Union County Nursing Home following a brief illness. He was
born June
3, 1942 in Melrose, MN to the late Elmer B. and Leona Tegmeir
Hinnenkamp. Mr. Hinnenkamp
was a U.S. Airforce Veteran. Mr. Hinnenkamp
moved here 19 years ago from Marietta. He was a successful business
man. He
owned and developed Town Creek Cabins for several years. He loved
fishing and
golf, and was a loving father and grandfather. Mr. Hinnenkamp
was preceded in death by his wife, LeeAnne
Hinnenkamp and his son-in-law, Derrik
Whittle. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Survivors
include children, Karen Whittle of Blairsville, Suellen
and Steven Morlock of Blairsville and
David Hinnenkamp of Blairsville, five
grandchildren, Bryce Hinnenkamp, Madison Morlock, Klye Morlock, Nicholas Whittle
and Leigha Whittle.
Funeral
services were held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View
Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Dyer officiating. Music was by Tommy Green.
Interment followed in Union Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers the
family
suggest memorial be made to his grandchildren’s college fund. The
family
received friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 until 9
p.m.

Eloise Addington Gray, age 90,
passed away peacefully on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Cary, NC, where she
resided
for the last four years.
She
was born in Blairsville, GA, on November 11, 1921, to the late Herman
T. and
Laura Jones Addington. She attended school
in the
Coosa Creek area and helped out on the family farm along with her many
siblings. Eloise was only eleven years old when her father died and
this event
changed her family's life dramatically. A few years later they moved to
Blue
Ridge, GA, where there were better job opportunities for the family.
Eloise
began her working career at the Van Raalt
Hosiery
Mill in Blue Ridge, but when World War II broke out she went to
Detroit, MI, to
work at an armament factory. It was there she met her beloved husband,
Richard
G. Gray, who was also working for the war effort. They married on June
13, 1942
and were married for 67 years.
After
the war they lived in Georgia for a short time, then
moved to Washington, DC where Richard was stationed after joining the
Air
Force. DC would be their home until they were stationed in Fairbanks,
AK. This
was a wonderful new experience for Eloise and she enjoyed each new
posting,
traveling in 49 states, living in Germany and traveling extensively in
Europe.
Eloise
was a Southern Baptist, loved the Lord and her church. She was a member
of The
First Baptist Church of Blairsivlle for 30
yeasrs.
She
is survived by her two daughters – Jerry Sue Bowersox
and Anna Lee Huffman, two sons-in-law – Terry L. Bowersox
and Wayne L. Huffman, four grandchildren – David S. Bowersox,
Dianna L. Dell, Gary R. Huffman, and Gregory T. Huffman, nine great
grandchildren – Anna Kathryn Bowersox,
Maggie Bowersox, Sam Bowersox,
Christopher Dell, Meredith Huffman, Patrick Huffman, Bridget Huffman,
Elizabeth
Huffman, and Ryan Huffman, sister RNichols
and
brother -in-law F. Quince Nichols and other beloved relatives and friendsl.
Funeral
services were held on Thursday, April 26, 2012, at 12 noon, in The Rock
Chapel
of First Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Rev. Danny Parris
officiating.
Special music was presented by Minister of Music R. Terry Hooper. The
following
gentlemen served as pallbearers: David Bowersox,
Terry Bowersox, Anthony Hamby, Gary
Huffman, Gregory
Huffman, Wayne Huffman, James Postell,
Jeffrey
Walker, and James Williams. Serving as honorary escort to the family
was Dianna
Dell and William Ferguson. Burial was held in Union Memory Gardens
Cemetery in
Blairsville. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made
to the
Alzheimer's Association.
Arrangements
have been entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville.

Mrs.
Dorothy Sullivan Spiva, age 85, of Russell
Scenic
Hwy, Blairsville passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Heritage
Health Care
in Blue Ridge, GA. She was born May 20, 1926 in Blairsville, GA to the
late
Richard Barney and Florida Hood Sullivan. Dorothy loved gardening, and
was a
giving and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great
grandmother. She
loved children and was very active in the church choir, Sunday school
and Bible
school at Union Baptist Church where she was a member. Dorothy was
preceded in
death by brothers Oscar Sullivan, Clyde Sullivan, Marion Sullivan, John
Sullivan, Wiley Sullivan and Grady Sullivan, sisters, Elmer Sullivan
Winn,
Myrtle Sullivan Josey, Rosalie Sullivan
Rexford and
Grace Sullivan Rogers.
Survivors
include her husband of 65 years, Warren Spiva
of
Blairsville, children, Susan and Tommy Monteith
of
Ellijay, Gene and Angie Spiva of Marietta,
Charles Spiva of Blairsville and Steve and
Angie Spiva of Jasper, brother, Hoke
and Charlene Sullivan of N. Augusta, SC, sister, Maxine and Mark
Stephens of
Aiken SC, grandchildren, Christopher and Amy Spiva,
Jonathan and Jill Spiva, Justin and Lesley
Monteith, Haley and Anthony Robinson and
Josh Spiva, great grandchildren, Hudson Spiva,
Grant Spiva and Rhett Monteith.
Funeral
services were held Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Mountain View
Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Benny Nix officiating. Music was by Union Baptist
Church
Choir directed by Mary Lou Nix. Pallbearers were Christopher Spiva, Jonathan Spiva,
Justin Monteith, Josh Spiva,
Jimmy Spiva and Michael Spiva.
Interment was in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family received

Chaplain
(Colonel) Arthur J. Estes, age 90, of Blairsville, passed away April
26, 2012.
For 72 years, Chaplain Estes served as a minister, teacher, and
counselor,
including 26 years as a chaplain in the U.S. Army, beginning late in
World War
II. A graduate of Stetson University in Florida, he also held several
advanced
degrees, including a doctorate of theology and master's degree in
education.
Chaplain Estes was preceded in death by his son, Jeff. He is survived
by his
loving wife of 68 years, Jeane Elliott
Estes and
(out-of-state) daughters Sharon Knapp and Sue Neil, granddaughters Mary
Elizabeth Knapp-Rasay and Deborah J.
Wallace,
grandsons Chris Neil and Matt Neil, and six greatgrandchildren.
Graveside
services were held Monday, April 30, 2012 from the Georgia National
Cemetery
with Rev. Danny Parris officiating and with full Military Honors
provided by
the United States Army.

Mrs.
Edna Mae Lovingood Hilton, age 91, of
Blairsville
formerly of Star Creek Rd., Morganton passed away Sunday, April 22,
2012
following an extended illness. She was born May 6, 1920 in Murphy, NC
to the
late Noah and Emma Peek Lovingood. She was
a loving
wife, mother, grandmother, great grand mother,
great-great
grandmother and sister. She loved to cook and garden. She was preceded
in death
by her husband, Ollie D. Hilton in 2006, son, Ollie D. Hilton, Jr, daughters, Ruby Sue Morris and Regina L.
Hilton, and
infant children. Mrs. Hilton was a member of Star Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include children, Morris Lynn and Judy Hilton of
Morganton, GA, Carl James and Helen Hilton of Blairsville, GA, Ronald
and Norma
Hilton of Culleoka, TN, sister, Minnice
Kirby of Blue Ridge, GA, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and
great-great grandchildren and several other family members.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. from Star Creek
Baptist
Church with Rev. Phillip Thomas and Rev. Hubert Legg officiating. Music
was by
the Thomas Family. Pallbearers were Vannessa
Porter,
Terry Hilton, Timmy Hilton, James Morris, Michael Morris and William Mashburn. Honorary pallbearers were Waylon Lovine and Jerry Dispane.
Interment followed in Hemptown Baptist
Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be made to Hemptown
Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. The family received friends at the
funeral home

Mr.
James “Jim” Sedok, age 70, of Branan
Lodge, Blairsville passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at his home
following a
brief illness. Jim was born April 13, 1942 in Rimersburg, PA to the
late
Michael and Zelma Mayers Sedok.
He had lived here for the past 17 years coming from Richmond, VA. He
was a U S
Marine Corps Veteran. He had worked for CSX Railroad as a Machinist. He
attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors
include sons, Donald Sedok of of
Bumpass, VA and Kenny Sedok of Sabot, VA,
step-son,
Tracy Joey Simmons, sisters Louise Stokes of Hobe Sound, FL and Diana Sedok of Manchester, CT, his many friends and all of the Hole in The Wall Gang.

Hatcher
