Mr.
Jerry Dale Roberts, age 64, of Dalton DR, Blairsville passed away
Tuesday, May
2, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN following a brief
illness.
Jerry was born March 3, 1948 in Blairsville, GA. He was a native and
lifelong
resident of Union County. He loved his family, and was a loving
husband, father
and grandfather. Jerry loved to ride his motorcycle and helping others.
Jerry
was a U S Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a retired correctional officer
with the
Colwell Detention Center. Jerry was preceded in death by his father,
Dixie
Roberts. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors
include his wife of 36 years, Vivian Young Roberts of Blairsville, GA,
mother
Sue Roberts of Blairsville, GA, children, Devin and Kim Roberts of
Blairsville,
GA, Carrie and Kalon Daniel of
Blairsville, GA,
brothers and sisters, Wayne and Jolain
Roberts of
Blairsville, GA, Charlotte and Randy Sosebee
of Blue
Ridge, GA, Dennis and Lee Roberts of Douglasville, GA and Marcella and
Dale Seabolt of Blairsville, GA,
grandchildren, Dalton Ayers, Jaslyn
Roberts and Mia Daniel, father and mother-in-law,
Junior and Virginia Young of Blairsville, GA, brother-in-law, Danny and
Billie
Young of Blairsville, GA, brother-in-law, Doffie
and
Trisha Young of Blairsville, Ga, several
nieces,
nephews, great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends
also
survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Mountain View
Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Hughes officiating. Music was presented by
Billy,
Debra and Jonathan Jackson and Sheryl Ripka.
Pallbearers were Brett Barnes, Jeremy Adams, Charles Turner, James
Bridges,
Darrell Bridges and Darrin Bridges. Interment will follow in Meadow
View
Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor
Guard.
Flowers will be accepted and if you wish you can make memorials to the
charity
or church of your choice. The family received friends at the funeral
home
Friday evening from 5 until 9 p.m.

Janice Warmbrod Bennett, age 66, of
Blairsville, GA passed away Sunday, May 6th, 2012 at her home. She was
born on
September 24th, 1946 in Winchester, TN to the late Arthur & Ruby Warmbrod. Janice was a very loving wife and
mother. She was
a Coca-Cola USA retiree and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Janice
will be deeply missed by her family and many friends, especially those
of the
Cozy Cove neighborhood on Lake Nottely.
Survivors
include her loving husband of 48 years J. Stephen Bennett and daughter
and
son-in-law, Candace and David Christensen of Blairsville, GA and
brother-in-law
Charles Washington of Peachtree City, GA; and many other nieces,
nephews and
friends.
The
first viewing will be Wednesday, May 9th, 2012 from 6-9 at Mountain
View
Funeral Home in Blairsville, GA. A second viewing will be held at
Belvidere
First United Church, UCC in Belvidere, TN Saturday May 12th, at 2 p.m.
and
funeral with the Rev. Debbie Douglas officiating at 3 p.m. Special
music will
be presented by Dan Warmbrod. Serving as
pallbearers
will be family and friends.

Chaplain
(Colonel) Arthur J. Estes, age 90, of Blairsville, GA, passed away
April 26,
2012. For 72 years, Chaplain Estes served as a minister, teacher, and
counselor, including 26 years as a chaplain in the U.S. Army, beginning
late in
World War II. A graduate of Stetson University in Florida, he also held
several
advanced degrees, including a doctorate of theology and master's degree
in
education. Chaplain Estes was preceded in death by his son, Jeff. He is
survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jeane
Elliott Estes and (out-of-state) daughters Sharon Knapp and Sue Neil,
granddaughters Mary Elizabeth Knapp-Ramsay and Deborah J. Wallace,
grandsons
Chris Neil and Matt Neil, and six great-grandchildren.
Graveside
services were held Monday, April 30, 2012 from the Georgia National
Cemetery with
Rev. Danny Parris officiating and with Full Military Honors provided by
the
United States Army.

Mr.
Michael Lynn Brewer, age 53, of Dogwood Dr., Blairsville passed away
Sunday,
April 29, 2012 in Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville
following a
brief illness. He was born April 16, 1958 in Gainesville, GA. Mr.
Brewer loved
fishing, hunting and visiting his friends and he enjoyed working around
the
house. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Charlie
and Mandy
Brewer, his maternal grandparents, Lester and Bertha Butts, brothers,
Terry
Brewer and Chipper Brewer. Mr. Brewer attended Fairview Baptist Church
in
Gainesville, GA.
Survivors
include his father and step-mother, Roy and Marie Brewer of
Gainesville, GA,
his mother, Maude Lovell of Blairsville, GA, children, Amanda Brewer of
Cumming, GA and Craig Brewer of Blairsville, GA, brothers, Ricky and
Judy
Brewer of Cumming, GA, Jeffery Brewer of Blairsville, GA and Danny and
Rita
Brewer of Blairsville, GA.
Memorial

Mrs.
Bessie Showers Soble, age 86, of Murphy,
NC, passed
away Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Blairsville, GA. She was born Thursday,
January
28, 1926 in Hastings, NY. They moved to Longwood, FL in the late 50s.
She was a
fun-loving Christian lady.
Survivors
include her brother, Norman Showers, of Florida; sons, Robert Soble, of North Carolina, and Randy Soble
of Florida; she also had five grandkids and 8 great grandkids.
No
services have been planned at this time.

Frank
Carbone, age 67, of Blairsville passed away at home Monday morning,
April 30,
2012. He fought a 2 ˝ year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born
in
Medford, MA son of the late Francis “Cab” and Olympia Carbone.
He
leaves his wife of 26 years, Connie of Blairsville and sisters,
Patricia Cass
and her husband, Bill of E. Yarmouth Port, MA, Rosemary Turcotte
and her husband Rich of Bulington, MA,
also surviving
are three children, Nancy Misskelley and
her husband,
Butch of Port St. Lucie, FL, Joyce Mosman
and her
husband, John of Coral Springs, FL, Mark Lewkowicz
and his wife Ellen of Coral Springs, FL, grandchildren, Heather, Brad,
Lauren
and Julia.
Frank
was in the Army, studied at Northeastern University, worked at T V
repair, electronics,
Poloroid, and was an officer and detective
in Coconut
Creek, FL. He later worked in construction and started Carbone
Remodeling in
Blairsville.
He
was a member of St. Clare’s Episcopal Church, 777 Ledford Rd,
Blairsville, GA
30512.
Memorial
services will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Clare’s
Episcopal Church with Rev. Frank Wilson officiating. The family will
meet with
friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers make
memorials to
St. Clare’s Episcopal Church in memory of Frank Carbone, for Relay for
Life.
