Mr. James “Jim” David Franklin, age 55, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, April 30, 1995 at his home, following an extended illness.
Mr. Franklin was a native of Kentucky, but had lived in this area for twelve years. He attended several local churches.
Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Cansadia Gunter Franklin of Blairsville; son, David Franklin of Blairsville; two brothers, Ottis Franklin and Elmer Franklin, both of Blairsville. Many friends and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 2, 1995 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Bill Dyer, Larry Harkins, Keith Franklin, Cas Gunter, Tommy Dockery and Gene Payne. Members of the Rockies 8th grade boys baseball team served as honorary escort to the family. Internet was in Union Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blairsville.
