Mrs.
Lillian Katherine Hudson, age 72, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away
Saturday, May 2, 1998 in Union County.
Mrs. Hudson was born on Saturday, November 4, 1925, in St. Johns
County,
Florida, a daughter of the late Arthur Fagan and Antonie Elizabeth
Kolbe
Fagan. She had lived in the Blairsville
for approximately one year, coming from St. Augustine and Brandon,
Florida. Mrs. Hudson was the founder and
director of the kindergarten of the First Presbyterian Church of
Brandon,
Florida. She was an elementary school
teacher in Brandon for 25 years. Mrs.
Hudson was attending First Baptist Church of Blairsville.
Mrs. Hudson was a native of St. Augustine,
Florida.
Surviving
are her son, John Hudson of Brandon, FL.; son and daughter-in-law,
David and
Lee Hudson, of Valrico, FL.; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Barry
Emerine,
of Blairsville; brother, Arthur Fagan, of Auburn AL.; sister, Nancy
Fagan, and
brother, Don Fagan, both of St. Augustine; granddaughter, Michelle
Patrick of
Brandon; granddaughter, Stacy Raper of Blairsville; grandson Kolbe
Hudson of
Valrico, FL; grandson, Jace Emerine of Blairsville; grandsons William
and
Matthew Hudson, both of Texas; great granddaughter, Kaley Raper of
Blairsville also
survives.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday, May 5, 1998 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville with Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Special music was presented by R. Terry
Hooper. The following gentlemen served
as pallbearers: Michael Raper, Hoyt Raper, Bill McGough, Greg Owenby,
Russ
Crawford, and Don Kehr. Interment was in
Union memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mr.
Charlie
Winn, age 82, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, may
5, 1998 in Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, North Carolina. Mr. Winn was born on Wednesday, November 10,
1915 in Union County, Georgia a son of the late George Winn and Ellen
Shuler
Winn. He was a retired farmer and was a
veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
He was a lifelong resident of this area and
was a member of Union Baptist Church and of the American Legion.
Surviving
are his wife, Bernice Dockery Winn of Blairsville; daughter, Veatrice
Floyt of
Fayetteville, N.C.; son, Harlie Winn, of Raleigh, N.C.; and son, Don
Winn, of
Blairsville; brothers, Oscar Winn, Albert Winn and Bart Winn, all of
Blairsville; sisters, Alma Hood, Allie Hood, both of Blairsville and
Lydia
Collins of Ochlochnee, GA.; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and
many
nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral
services were held Saturday, May 9, 1998 at 2 p.m. from Cochran Funeral
Home
Chapel with Rev. Stacy Dyer and Rev. Danny Parris officiating. Special music was presented by Neal and patsy
Efird. The following gentlemen served as
pallbearers: Michael Spivia, Jimmy Spivia,
Royce Dyer, Eddie Spivia, Ricky Dyer, and Hoyt Browning.
Interment was in Union Baptist Cemetery.

Mr.
Charles
L. Ivey, age 58, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, May 9,
1998.
Mr. Ivey
was born in Walton County, Georgia, on August 29,
139, a son of the late Charles Ivey, Jr. and Nell Brown Ivey. He was a shop foreman for tractor sales and
service. MR. Ivey was a veteran of the
U.S. Army. He had lived in this area for
the past 12 years, coming here from Loganville, Georgia.
Mr. Ivey was a member of the Methodist Church
in Loganville, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Fergus, 135
F&AM.
Surviving
are his wife, Barbara Ivey, of Blairsville; son, Eric Ivey, of
Blairsville;
step son, Benny Brooks, of Monroe, Georgia; step daughter Sheila
Picciocca of
Roswell, Georgia; and step daughter, Jennifer Reese, of Loganville;
step
granddaughter, Selena Spain, of Loganville; and step grandson, Chad
Brooks of
Monroe.
Funeral
services were held Monday, May 11, 1998 at 3 p.m. from Bay Creek
Baptist Church
in Loganville with Rev. Bob Reese and Rev. Robert Carter officiating. Special music was presented by Mrs. Ella
Battle. Serving as pallbearers were
members of the Masonic Lodge. Interment
was
in Bay Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
