Sandra
Jenkins, age 65, of Blairsville, GA, passed away unexpectedly on
Thursday
morning, May 10, 2012 in Blairsville.
Sandra
was born in Dahlonega, GA, on Friday, December 20, 1946, a daughter of
the late
Mayse Griffin and the late Ruth Gooch Griffin. She was a lifelong
resident of
this area, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Blairsville.
Sandra was a
graduate of Woody Gap High School, and of Young Harris College. Besides
her
parents, she had been preceded in death by a brother, Harris Griffin;
and great
nephews, Clay King and Connor Griffin.
Sandra
was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her,
especially her
family: daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Mark Vaughn; son and
daughter-in-law, Kenny and Glenda Jenkins; daughter, Lori Jenkins; and
friend,
Jerome Martin; all of Blairsville; granddaughter Jessica Chatham;
grandson,
Luke Chatham; granddaughter, Noelle Vaughn; and grandson, Kole Jenkins;
sister-in-law, Barbara Griffin; niece, Rhonda Dyer; nephews, Jeff
Griffin and
Daniel Griffin; many other relatives and many friends also survive.
Funeral
services were held Friday, May 11, 2012, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of
Cochran
Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Brent Chatham officiating.
Special music
was presented by David and Jackie Chatham. Burial was in Union Memory
Gardens
Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home was held on Friday, May 11th,
at noon,
before the start of the funeral services. The following gentlemen
served as
pallbearers; Luke Chatham, Eli Martin, Ethan Martin, Trey Thomas, Mark
Burrell,
and Mike Hemphill. Kole Jenkins served as honorary pallbearer.

Mrs.
Ethel Marie Stark, age 86, 9of Gordon Thomas Road, Blairsville passed
away
Sunday, May 6, 2012 at her home following an extended illness. She was
born
November 14, 1925 in Madison Heights, VA to the late Fletcher and Floy
Warner
Roberts. Mrs. Stark moved here 10 months ago from Dunwoody, GA, and
attended
Fellowship of the Hills Church since moving here. Mrs. Stark worked
every
election at the polls for about 65 years. She was involved in Heart
Strings
Senior Choir at Dunwoody Baptist Church where she was a member for 45
years.
She was also a part of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. Mrs. Stark was
preceded in death by a son, Donald Stark in 2012.
Survivors
include her husband of 65 years, Gene Stark of Blairsville, daughters,
Diane
Stark Stephens of Blairsville, and Sharon Greye of Savannah, brothers,
Maurice
and Virginia Roberts of Defuniac, FL and Charles Roberts of Madison
Heights,
VA, five grandchildren, Vanya Greye, Ashley Stephens, Jeff Stark,
Kenneth
Stephens and Ian Greye, three great grandchildren, Nate, Andrew and
Mary Grace,
several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.
Memorial
services will be held at a later date at Dunwoody Baptist Church with
Dr. Mac
Hannah and Dr. Bill Baggett officiating. Interment will be in Arlington
Cemetery in Atlanta.
In
lieu of flowers make memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation in Mrs.
Stark’s
memory.

Jose
Moran Bonilla, 68, of North Port, FL and Suches, GA, passed away gently
on May
7, 2012 after a 15-year-struggle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Disease.
Born
in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, U.S.A. On 29 Jan 1944k, Jose grew up in
New York
City and joined the U;.s. Army from which he retired in 1983 as a
Special
Forces Master Sergeant. Jose served two combat in Vietnam where he won
numerous
medals, including two Bronze Stars (one with Oak Leaf Cluster for
Valor) and a
Meritorious Service Medal. After retiring from the Army, Jose joined
the
Central Intelligence Agency where he spent 17 years working as a
Technical
Operations Officer. Proud of his military and civilian service, Jose
always
noted he had spent 38 years defending America. Jose is survived by his
beloved
wife, Pamela; daughter Jennifer; son Steven; four grandchildren,
Capone, Macy,
Caden and Trevor; sister Lucy Burgos; brother Milton Moran and numerous
aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews. Jose had three children from his first
marriage and
has six additional grandchildren.
In
retirement, Jose loved his dogs (especially our Rottweilers, all
rescues), cats
and birds, loved telling jokes and doing puzzle books. He was an
associate
member of Gulfstream Guardian Angel Rottweiler Rescue, and a member of
North
port Neighborhood Watch (until he became too sick to participate). Jose
also
was a lifetimes member of the U.S. Special Forces Association, the
Veterans of
Foreign Wars, and the Disabled American Veterans.
Jose
will be buried at Sarasota National Cemetery with full military honors
after a
private ceremony with the immediate family;. In lieu of flowers, please
make a
memorial contribution in Jose's honor to Gulfstream Guardian Angel
Rottweiler
Rescue in Miami, to your local humane society, to the American Lung
Association
or to the Wounded Warrior Project. God bless us all.

Mrs.
Sharon Lynn Marrs Butler, age 66, of Blairsville, GA, passed away
Friday, May
11, 2012 at her home.
Sharon
was born on March 29, 1946, in Odessa, TX, a daughter of the late Louis
Marrs
and the late Lois Young Marrs. She was a member of First Baptist Church
of
Blairsville, and was active in First Baptist Church Decorating
Committee, doing
interior decorating. Sharon enjoyed playing bridge, and was Chaplain of
the Old
Unicoi Trail Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Besides her
parents, she had been preceded in death by a brother, R. Dee Marrs.
Sharon
will be missed greatly by all who knew her; most especially by her
loving
family: husband, Jim, of Blairsville; son, Clayton Butler, of Salt Lake
City,
UT; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hoyt L. and Lucille Butler, of
Newnan, GA;
sister-in-law, Rhea Marrs of Louisiana; three nephews, Evan Marrs,
Darin Marrs,
and Taylor Marrs, all of Louisiana; and many friends.
Funeral
services are scheduled for Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 11 a.m., in
First
Baptist Church of Blairsville, with Rev. Richard Stillwell officiating.
The
following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Marcus
Terschel,
Glenn Wethington, David Miller, Dick Moriarty, John Jensen, and Paul
Ellis.
Asked to serve as honorary escort to the family are Jim Cone, David
Hale, and Eddie
Stearns. Burial will be in Choestoe Cemetery. Visitation with the
family will
be held on Tuesday evening, May 15, 2012, between the hours of 6 to 9
p.m.

Mr.
Robert John Hill age 65 of Ivy Log Rd., Blairsville passed away on
Tuesday, May
8, 2012 at his home following an extended illness. Mr. Hill was born on
Dec.
19, 1946 in Detroit, MI., the son of the late Bertrum Hill and the late
Barbara
Phufl Hill. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Robert enjoyed
spending time
with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother and
grandfather.
Robert was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving
Mr. Hill are his loving wife of twenty-six years, Peggy Joyce Cooke
Hill of Blairsville,
two daughters and sons-in-law, Brandi and Don Boehl of Blairsville,
Joey and
Tracy Simmons of Tallassee, Al, one brother, Ronald Hill of Calihan,
FL, four
grandchildren, Cheyenne, Trent, Johnathan and Lexi, many other
relatives and
friends also survive.
A
memorial service will be held at a later date with interment to follow
in the
Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family
requests
that memorials may be made to United Way in memory of Robert.

Mrs.
Mildred M. Shuck, age 97, of Wesley Mtn. Drive, Blairsville, passed
away on
Friday, May 11, 2012 in the Union County Nursing Home following an
extended
illness. Mrs. Shuck was born on Jan. 10, 1915 in Foley, AL, the
daughter of the
late Arthur Huff and the late Rose Musgrove Huff. Mildred was a sixty
year
resident of Florida. She had managed Piney Town Court in St. Petersburg
for
thirty-seven years before moving to Brannan Lodge in 2006. She is now
resting
with God and those who went before her including her husband, George
Kenneth
Shuck in 1993, a son, Charles Kenneth Shuck in 2005 and a brother, Glen
Huff.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and
great-great
grandmother. Mildred was a member of Coosa United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Shuck are three sons and daughters-in-law, George and
Carol
Shuck of Colorado Springs, CO, Ronald and Sally Shuck of Blairsville,
Robert
and Patricia Shuck of Altoona, FL, eight grandchildren, eight great
grandchildren and one great- great grandchild, many other relatives and
friends
also survive.
A
memorial service and interment will be held at a later date from the
Lakeside
Memorial Gardens in Eustis, FL. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the
family
requests that memorials may be made to Regency Hospice of Hiawassee in
memory
of Mrs. Shuck.

Mr.
Joseph “Joe” Piowlski, Jr, age 44 of Akins Road, Blairsville passed
away on
Monday, May 7, 2012 in the Union General Hospital following an extended
illness.
Joe was born on June 2, 1967 in Jersey City, NJ, the son of Joseph J.
Piowlski
and Donna Reichert. Joe was of the Catholic faith.
Surviving
Joe are his mother and stepfather, Donna and Ron Worthan of Murphy, one
daughter, Brittany Piowlski of Blairsville, two brothers and one
sister-in-law,
John and Lori Piowlski of Mankota MN, Jason Piowlski of Los Angeles,
CA, two
step brothers, Nathan Worthan of Huntsville, AL, Joshua Worthan of
Hartwell,
GA, many other relatives and friends also survive.
Services
will be held at a later date. Interment was held on Saturday, May 12,
2012 at
11 a.m. from the Worthan Family Cemetery.
