mrs. maebell mcclure

 

Mrs. Maebell McClure, age 73, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, may 9, 2000, in Union General Hospital in Blairsville.

Mrs. McClure was born in Union County, Georgia, on Thursday, October 14, 1926, a daughter of the late Gus Thomas and Dollie Mae Stephens Thomas.  She was homemaker and was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church.  Mrs. McClure had been preceded in death by her husband, the late George McClure, Jr.

Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Mary Sue and Jimmy Seabolt, of Blairsville; sisters: Vila “Odie” Vandiver, Norene Stover, Edna Hughes, and Pauline Sosebee, all of Blairsville, and Leona Harkins, of Dahlonega; brothers, Junior and Harold Thomas, both of Blairsville; two grandchildren, Patty and Jason Seabolt, of Blairsville; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 10, 2000 at 2 p.m. from Owltown Church of God, with Rev. Leon Henderson, and Rev. Michael Anderson officiating.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Larry Thomas, Josh Berry, Scott Stephens, John Snow, David Seabolt, and Steve Seabolt.  Interment was in the church cemetery.

mr. donald kelley

 

Mr. Donald Kelley, age 45, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2000 unexpectedly at his home.

Mr. Kelley was born in Towns County, Georgia, on Monday, September 13, 1954 a son of the late Charlie Kelley and Sue Walker Kelley.  He was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a local builder.  Mr. Kelley attended The House of Prayer Interdenominational Church.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Elaine Adams Kelley, of the home; three sons, Caleb Kelley, Matthew Mashburn, and Adam Mashburn, all of the home; sisters, Gail Bowling of Montezuma, Georgia and Polly Chapman of Blairsville; brothers, Bobby Kelley, Garry Kelley, and David Kelley, all of Blairsville; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Friday, May 12, 2000 at 2 pm from The House of Prayer Church with Rev. Jerry Helton officiating.  Special music was presented by The House of Prayer choir and Mindy Combs.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Tony Burrell, Freddie Burrell, Lewis Kelley, Travis Kelley, Terry Helton and Bill Kelley.  Interment was in Providence Methodist Church Cemetery.  If you wish, memorials may be made to The House of Prayer Property Fund, or to The American Heart Association.

mrs. ruby pattterson bryant

 

Mrs. Ruby Patterson Bryant, age 77, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, may 11, 2000 at her home.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Polk County, Tennessee, on Tuesday, February 13, 1923 a daughter of the late Lawson Patterson and Bertha Turner Patterson.  She was a lifelong resident of this area, and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include her son, Vaughn Patterson of Blairsville; brother, Franklin D. Paterson of Blairsville; sister, Mabel McDonald, of Murphy, North Carolina; granddaughter, Jeannie Patterson Curbow, of Morganton, Georgia; grandson, Joey Patterson of Blairsville; and granddaughter, Joanah Patterson of Blairsville; five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Sunday, May 14, 2000 at 2 pm from the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Blairsville, with Rev. Danny Patterson, Rev. Avery Beaver, and Rev. Clifton Patterson officiating.  Special music was presented by Ken and Elaine Young.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Joey Patterson, Jeffrey Locke, Clifton Patterson, Lowell Botts, Mickey Botts, and Troy Townson.  Interment was in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

mrs. carole ann miller

 

Mrs. Carole Ann Miller, age 58, of Gainesville Hwy. Blairsville, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2000 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness.  Mrs. Miller was born on April 20, 1942 in Moline, IL., the daughter of the late Russell Miller and the late Lucille Edwards Miller.  She had lived in Union County for the past twenty three years.  She was a member of the Owltown Church of God and had attended the House of Prayer.

Survivors include her husband, Sydney Syrcek of Blairsville; two daughters and son-in-laws, Vicky and Bonnelle Thomas of Blairsville Freda and Tim Cantrell of Baldwin, GA; seven sons and six daughters-in-laws, Russell and Dawn Fortenberry of Blairsville, Roy and Michele Fortenberry of Blairsville, John and Robin Fortenberry of Blairsville, Gary and Donna Nelson of Nashville, TN, Scott and Kim Nelson of Apollo Beach, FL, Steve and Teresa Marolf of IL, and Daniel Marolf of Baldwin, GA; one brother, Wayne Miller of Seville, FL; eighteen grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, May 13, 2000 at 3 pm from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Brent Chatham officiating.  Special music was presented by The Kelley Trio.  The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Scott Stephens, Jeff Fortenberry, Damon Hood, Richard Jones, Mitchell Gunter, and Stephen Tanner.  Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.
