Mr. Jesse
Gene
Garrett, age 70 of Fairview Church Rd., Blairsville, passed away on
Thursday,
May 12, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. Mr.
Garrett was born on April 26, 1941 in
Cumming GA, the son of the late Troy V. Garrett and the late Corine
Brumbelow
Garrett. Jesse enjoyed working and was
dedicated to taking care of his family. He
was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and
great-grandfather. He
was preceded in death by four brothers, Hershel, Troy Jr., Bobby and
Jack
Garrett and by one sister, Sarah Lamb. Mr.
Garrett was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving
Mr.
Garrett are his loving wife of forty-four years, Patricia Jaco Garrett
of
Blairsville, one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Beth Garrett of
Ellijay,
one daughter, Sharon Ledford of Blairsville, one brother, Jerry Garrett
of
Cleveland, GA, three sisters and one brother-in-law, Nancy Byrd of
Ohio,
Dorothy and Cecil Hawkins of Copperhill, TN, Imogene Davis of Macon,
GA, four
grandchildren, Joshua and Heather Garrett, Ethan and Whitney Garrett,
Brittany
Garrett, Mason Ledford, seven great-grandchildren, many other relatives
and
friends also survive.
Funeral
services were
held on Saturday May 14, 2011 at 4 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel
with the
Rev. Tommy Jenkins officiating. A
selection of Jesse’s favorite hymns were presented for the service. The family met with friends at the funeral
home on Saturday from 11-4 p.m. prior to the services.

Mr.
Dennis Keith
Lacey, age 56, of Possum Trot Rd., Blairsville, passed away on
Thursday, May 5,
2011 following a brief illness. Mr.
Lacey was born on March 31, 1955 in Fulton County, GA the son of the
late
Robert Lacey and the late Laura Steadman Lacey. Mr.
Lacey was a loving father, brother and
grandfather. He had moved to Blairsville
eighteen years ago from Lawrenceville to take care of his mother.
Surviving
Mr. Lacey
are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Brent and Danna Lacey of Colorado
Springs, CO and Marc N. Lacey of Canton, GA, one sister, Cecilia Lacey
of
Blairsville, two brothers and one sister-in-law, Jeff and Nancy Lacey
of
Norcross, GA and Steven Lacey of Gainesville, four grandchildren,
Nicholas,
Jacob, Olivia and Jayden Lacey, many other relatives and friends also
survive.
A
memorial service
will be held at a later date. In lieu of
flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to
the
Mountain Shelter Humane Society in memory of Mr. Lacey.
